Evening arrives, and Jasmine's college classes end. She has already wiped away the blood that was coming from her nose, but the swelling on her cheek hasn't gone down. When she steps outside the college gate, she freezes in shock—Rex is standing there, waiting for her.
Rex notices her too and immediately sees the swelling on her cheek. Still, Jasmine is smiling like before. She asks, "If you're here, then who's at the shop?"
Rex replies, "I finished all the work earlier than expected, so Uncle told me to go and pick you up. He didn't want you coming alone."
Jasmine says, "Alright, let's go."
As the two of them start walking, Zack notices them. He mutters to himself, "Who is this guy hanging around with Jasmine?" Saying that, he walks away.
Rex asks Jasmine, "How was your day today? What did you do?"
Jasmine replies, "I just studied, studied, and studied."
Hearing this, Rex makes a weird face and says, "That's common sense. In college, you study, right?"
Jasmine snaps angrily, "If you already know that, then why are you asking?"
Rex quickly says, "I'm asking what else you did besides studying."
Jasmine replies, "Besides studying, I came home." Saying this, she starts laughing and runs ahead.
Rex shouts this is not fair and runs after her. They both reach home.
Panting, Rex says, "Didi, you run really fast."
Jasmine, also catching her breath, replies, "Because I'm strong, hehe."
Seeing them, Uncle Vasu asks, "Why are you running like that? Were dogs chasing you?"
Jasmine laughs and says, "I don't know about Rex, but a dog was definitely chasing me." Saying this, she runs inside the house. She had indirectly called Rex a dog.
Rex makes an annoyed face.
After that, Jasmine starts cooking, and Rex sits in his room, thinking about his day. He thinks, Today was such a good day. I have an uncle who's like a father to me, and I also have a lovely elder sister.
When it's time for dinner, all three of them sit together to eat. Rex is excited and eats until he's completely full. Seeing him eat like a madman, Uncle Vasu and Jasmine start laughing.
After dinner, Uncle Vasu asks Jasmine, "Your cheek looks swollen. Did someone hit you?"
She replies, "I fell down in college."
Uncle Vasu says, "Take care of yourself. I worry about you a lot."
Rex is watching them quietly. Uncle Vasu notices that Rex might be feeling left out and says, "I worry about Rex too. He's like my son as well."
Hearing this, Rex jumps up happily.
The three of them are joking and laughing together when their attention suddenly shifts to the TV. A breaking news alert is flashing on the screen.
Breaking News:
A notorious underworld gangster has been shot dead. The gangster's name was Raghav. Reports suggest that tensions had been rising between the BW (Blue Whale) gang and the DKG (Desi Katta Group). Because of this conflict, DKG's 6th elite member, Dhruv, openly shot Raghav in the middle of the road. The police are currently searching for those involved in the murder. Stay with us for minute-by-minute updates.
Uncle Vasu sighs and says, "These gangs are increasing in the city. I don't know what will happen to this country."
Jasmine says quietly, "It was because of these gangs that my brother died."
Uncle Vasu immediately stops her and says, "Enough. What has happened is already over. Leave the past behind and move forward in life."
Rex was about to ask about the reason behind Rishu's death, but after hearing Uncle Vasu's words, he stays silent. Everyone goes to their own rooms. Rex is exhausted, so he doesn't think much—he comes to his room, turns off the lights, and falls asleep.
In the other room, Jasmine is crying silently. In her heart, she keeps asking herself, Why me? Why do I have to suffer? What was my fault?
Once again, Rex sees the same dream. A dark, intense room—so dark that nothing is visible. Everything is pitch black. Rex thinks, I'm seeing that same dream again. My hands and legs are tied. There's tape over my mouth. I can't see anything… but there's definitely something in front of me. Why can't I see it?
The ropes around him begin to tighten. He starts screaming. It feels as if his bones are breaking. The pain becomes unbearable, and Rex suddenly wakes up in the middle of the night.
Terrified, he says to himself, "Why am I having these dreams? Should I tell Uncle?"
Then he shakes his head. "No. Why trouble him over just a dream?"
With nothing else to do, Rex starts exercising. Then he thinks, Let's go for a short run outside.
Quietly, he leaves the house and begins running. While running, he notices a group of dogs. He panics—If even one of them barks, all of them will attack. So he changes his route and runs toward the road Jasmine usually takes to college.
That's when he notices the same abandoned house again. His eyes move toward a window—and his heart nearly stops. He sees a hand inside the window. On the glass, something is written in blood.
Rex is so terrified that he immediately runs toward home without looking back. As soon as he reaches the house, fear overwhelms him and he falls asleep.
This time, he doesn't see that nightmare again.
In the morning, Jasmine comes to wake Rex up. Rex gets up and goes to brush his teeth, thinking to himself, The things I've been facing… have I gone crazy?
Everyone sits down for breakfast. Uncle Vasu suddenly says, "Rex, can I ask you something?"
Rex replies, "Yes, Uncle."
Uncle asks, "Do you want to study?"
Rex answers, "Yes… but the shop also needs to be taken care of."
Uncle smiles and says, "No, the shop is just something I run to pass time. I receive a pension every month."
Rex looks surprised. "A pension?"
Uncle replies, "Yes, son. I used to be in the army. I spent forty years of my life on the border."
Rex becomes extremely excited and curious. "You were in the army? Then you must have fought in many battles."
Uncle nods. "Yes. I've fought many battles, and I've lost many people. On the battlefield, nothing else exists—no women, no children. If you can't fight, you die."
Rex's eyes sparkle with curiosity. He asks, "How many people have you killed?"
Uncle answers calmly, "In my younger days, I killed around eighteen to twenty people. I even received a bravery award. But now I'm old. I'm not what I used to be."
Rex says firmly, "No, Uncle. You're still strong even today."
Uncle smiles. "We've drifted from the topic. Tell me—do you want to study?"
Rex nods. "Yes."
Uncle says, "Alright. Today I'll talk about your admission. From tomorrow, you'll go to college with Jasmine."
Rex becomes very happy at the thought of going to college. Jasmine is also happy to hear this—but suddenly, her smile fades. She remembers what happened to her there. She wants to stop Rex from going, but she can't say anything now.
It's Sunday. Rex steps out of the house for a walk. Jasmine is studying, and Uncle Vasu is watching the news on TV. Rex remembers the hand he saw the previous night. Was that really a ghost… or something else?
He runs toward that place.
When he reaches there, he freezes in shock. A crowd has gathered near the house, and the police have sealed it. People are talking loudly. Rex hears that the body of a 17-year-old girl was found inside the house.
Rex is stunned. What is all this? Last night, I saw that hand… could it have been hers?
People are saying that the girl was kidnapped by gang members and kept there. Her hands were tied, and her legs were broken so she couldn't escape. Even then, she bit her own finger and wrote "HELP" on the window with blood, hoping someone would see it and save her.
Hearing this, Rex falls into deep thought. "Everything is connecting now," he whispers to himself.
"The first time, I noticed water dripping from the broken pipe. The second time, when I came here… she was trying to ask for help. And I ran away, thinking it was a ghost."
Rex feels overwhelming guilt.
What have I done? Because of me, that poor girl died. This happened because of me. I could have saved her—but because of my fear, I left her to die.
Rex is completely traumatized. He returns home and sits silently in his room, blaming himself. Tears start flowing from his eyes.
Jasmine had seen Rex return home,
Jasmine notices that Rex's expression doesn't look right. She goes to his room and sees Rex sitting alone, crying just like she often does. She gets scared, wondering what happened. She goes closer to him and asks, "What's wrong?"
Rex tells her that he has taken the life of a seventeen-year-old girl.
Jasmine can't understand what he's saying. She wipes his tears and says, "Explain properly. What happened?"
Rex tells her everything—everything he experienced.
Jasmine is shocked to hear that a girl was kidnapped and kept inside that abandoned house. Rex keeps blaming himself. Then Jasmine says, "Rex, none of this is your fault. If you had known the truth, you would never have left her alone. It was just a misunderstanding—you thought it was a ghost. This isn't your fault. I feel terrible for that girl, but you are not to blame."
Rex feels a little relief after letting his heart out.
Then Rex asks Jasmine about Rishu. Jasmine explains that Rishu was very strong and kind. One day, no one knows how, his car met with an accident. His entire body was burned, and they didn't even get to see him one last time.
Rex asks, "Where is your mother?"
Jasmine replies, "After Rishu's death, Mom's health kept getting worse. A few years later, she suddenly had a heart attack and passed away."
Rex says softly, "You were so young back then. All of this must have been very difficult for you."
Jasmine replies, "Yes, but my father raised me very well. He never let me feel the absence of my mother or my brother."
Then she says, "Leave all this for now. Come on, Rex. Let's find out who that girl was and who kidnapped her and kept her there."
Rex feels a surge of determination. He and Jasmine set out to find the truth.
On the way, Rex's head starts hurting badly. It feels as if someone is whispering to him again and again, Die… die… die.
Rex becomes extremely confused, unsure of what just happened to him.
