Chapter 28 - Vampire's Pursuit [3]

The vampire lady surged toward us at terrifying speed, red mist streaming behind her.

"Their speed is back!" I shouted.

Luna's eyes locked on the bloody mist covering the sun. She narrowed her gaze and raised her hand, pointing straight at it. "It's coming from that mist. I have to destroy it now."

The vampire closed in, her body twisting mid-charge before she leapt upward, the mist curling around her like a serpent.

"Ezekiel!" Luna shouted, thrusting her arm toward me.

A radiant violet crystal sword materialized in her hand, and she tossed it toward me. I stepped forward and caught it.

The vampire dropped straight in front of me, claws aimed at my chest. The mist clung to her back, writhing.

Just before she could reach me, the crystal dome flickered into view again. It pulsed, then burst outward into sharp shards.

They struck her hands.

She recoiled and snarled, baring her fangs. I rushed in and swung the crystal sword at her, aiming for her side.

She twisted away at the last second and leapt back, landing lightly.

Luna waved her wand at the vampire.

"Chromatic Oblivion!"

Streams of radiant light erupted from her skill, bursting outward in a riot of colors that streaked toward the vampire.

The vampire's eyes narrowed. With a graceful flick of her hand, the mist coiled into her palm. As the radiant colors slammed into her, she bent them to her will, controlling them effortlessly.

Her gaze turned to me, and with a swift motion, she redirected Luna's attack straight in my direction.

"Phase Rift!"

I dashed toward the radiant colors, sliding beneath them and charging after the vampire with blinding speed.

I swung the crystal sword at her, but she anticipated the strike, slashing her claws up to block. The clash rang out sharply, sparks of light scattering.

Realizing something, she tumbled backward just as the violet dome burst again, sending shards snapping outward. She twisted mid-air and avoided them with perfect timing.

"Crimson Veil!"

As she landed, I noticed a long scratch along her wrist. Red mist poured from it, spreading rapidly and swallowing the surrounding area.

Within seconds, Luna vanished from view, hidden somewhere on the other side of the swirling crimson fog.

I scanned the area, but the vampire was nowhere in sight. There was no time to worry because Luna's crystal dome still protected me and kept me safe.

Then I noticed a streak of mist moving like something alive rushing straight toward me.

Before I could react, sharp blades slammed into the crystal dome, leaving deep scratches and cracks across its surface. The crystal couldn't keep up with the vampire's speed, bursting into jagged shards a moment too late.

The vampire revealed herself fully, appearing right in front of me, and shoved me with sudden force.

I stumbled backward and in the middle of my fall I saw a thick swirling mist racing toward me.

She controlled it with precision. The mist floated around me, twisting and turning with her movements. With a graceful flick of her hand, it hurled me across the street.

I crashed into a concrete building, the impact rattling my bones.

[Amethyst Ward Has Been Broken!]

She appeared in front of me almost instantly, moving faster than I could track. The crystal dome had shattered, leaving crystals scattered across the ground.

"Phase Rift!"

I sprinted at her, crystal sword in hand, charging with everything I had. We closed in on each other with blinding speed, a clash of blinding speed racing through the air. My Phase Rift skill only lasted a few seconds, and I could feel it fading.

For the final strike, I swung the crystal sword at her, but she twisted my hand sharply. The sword slipped from my grip. She caught it midair and slashed toward my body.

I groaned as my knees hit the ground. My blood poured in.

[Chrono Heal has been triggered!]

My ability triggered, the bleeding wound knitting itself instantly for a few seconds.

"So you can heal as well," she said, a smirk tugging at her lips.

"I will kill every last one of you! I will have my vengeance for whoever killed my parents!" I roared, glaring at her.

She leveled the crystal sword at my neck.

"Too bad, it's your end now. I guess you can't heal if your head is severed, right?" she taunted, lifting the blade.

But she froze halfway through the motion as a figure emerged from the red mist.

"Frank?" she murmured to her companion. The vampire who uses acid in his blood stepped forward. "I'm glad you're here. Deal with the other one. My mist clones might be gone by now."

Her companion nodded and moved closer to her.

"But before that, let me give you something," he said, his hand rising.

"What is it?" she asked, narrowing her eyes.

In the next moment, he drove what looked like a wand into her chest. I blinked in shock. He didn't use a wand in our fight earlier.

His body rippled, shifting colors violently, and then it changed completely. Before me stood Luna. She had shapeshifted into the vampire companion.

"Luna!" I yelled, my voice shaking in disbelief.

"Shattered Floral Blossom!"

Luna thrust her wand deeper into the vampire's chest.

From the tip, a radiant flower bloomed at the back of the vampire's body. Its petals shimmered, shifting through a flowing spectrum of colors from sky blue to deep violet.

She pulled her wand back, and the vampire's body crumpled to the ground. The swirling red mist around the area dissipated, but the bloody sky above remained.

"Let's go, Ezekiel. We need to help our companions!" Luna said, extending her hand toward me.

I grabbed her hand and pulled myself to my feet. We exchanged a determined nod and ran toward the battle where Victor and Margaret were locked in combat.

"I have to destroy the bloody sky first," Luna said, pausing mid-run. She closed her eyes and focused intently on her wand.

After a moment, she opened her eyes and lifted her wand, pointing it in the sky.

"Prism Ray!"

A sweeping rainbow of elegant colors erupted from her wand. The radiant beam surged upward, cutting through the crimson mist that had stained the sky.

Slowly, the red haze vanished, revealing a clear sky as the sun shone once more. A gentle rainbow flowed across it, its colors stretching softly through the open sky.

She glanced at me, nodded, and without hesitation, we dashed forward to rejoin the fight.

As we drew closer, Victor came into view, standing near the vampire.

I raised my hand, pointing at the vampire Victor was fighting. Luna mirrored my action, lifting her wand and aiming steadily.

"Chrono Shards!"

"Crystal Shards!"

We unleashed our attacks simultaneously. Luna sent four sharp violet crystal shards slicing through the air toward the vampire, while I fired five temporal shards, both attacks leaving streaks of golden and prismatic energy behind them.

The vampire's eyes narrowed. He was the one who manipulated walls with his blood.

"Blood Wall!"

He cut his finger, letting drops of blood splash into the air. The liquid flared red and surged into the concrete ground, forming a thick, solid wall that blocked our shards.

Victor seized the opening without hesitation, channeling his skill while the vampire was distracted.

"Astral Sweep!"

Victor unleashed a sweeping arc of magenta psionic energy. The force radiated outward in a wide arc, disrupting anything caught in its path with raw mental power. The wave surged forward, striking the vampire before crashing against a nearby building, sending clouds of debris flying.
