I ignored them. Completely
It was the only way to keep control of the situation.
If I paid attention to Mike and Karl staring at each other like two territorial wolves ready to tear each other apart, things would only escalate.
And right now, escalation wasn't what I needed.
At least, not yet.
So I turned my back on both Alphas and walked toward the training area again.
My muscles were already warm, and fatigue had started to set in, but the brief interruption had cooled my momentum.
I rolled my shoulders slowly and stretched my arms before facing the training dummy again.
I needed to get in the best shape soon. Without the ability to protect myself inside the pack, even if I was no longer a slave, I still wouldn't be safe.
Today's situation with Boris was a good example of what was to come.
Now, I need to focus on training.
The first punch landed against the leather surface with a dull thud.
Pain shot up my knuckles. And I welcomed it.
