The moment Kade stepped into the private kitchen, he carried both Dakota and Takoda inside without slowing down. Unlike the main kitchen, the private kitchen was reserved exclusively for the Royal Family, so there were no servants waiting inside.
Everything they needed was already there, from the neatly arranged ingredients to the cookware, allowing Kade to prepare their meal himself without having to call anyone. He walked toward the large kitchen island and carefully placed Dakota on the countertop before lifting Takoda and settling her beside her mother.
"Stay here," he instructed, looking between them.
Dakota gave him an unimpressed look. "Where exactly do you think I'm going?"
"I don't know. You seem determined to make things difficult today."
"I haven't done anything."
"You tried to convince me you weren't hungry while your stomach was practically announcing it to the entire estate."
