Ronan's POV
Ronan followed his mother down the corridor, allowing the bedroom door to close behind them before she suddenly stopped and turned toward him, the anger she had restrained inside the room finally becoming impossible to conceal.
"How dare you speak to me like that in front of her?"
Ronan remained composed, although his eyes briefly shifted toward the closed bedroom door before returning to his mother.
"Mother, you were making the situation worse."
"I was correcting her."
"You were trying to drag her out of bed after the healer specifically told her to rest."
His mother scoffed, clearly unconvinced. "She has been sleeping all morning. How much more rest does she need?"
"Apparently, quite a lot."
His answer was calm and almost indifferent, but his mother knew her son well enough to understand that he had already made up his mind. She folded her arms and gave him a displeased look.
"You are becoming far too protective of her."
