Chapter 89 - Anime and Manga Quantity

The morning sunlight slanted through the window, spilling into the room. Outside, the cicadas chirped in waves, each louder than the last, as if trying to pour out all the passion of summer.

Accompanied by the bright sun and the sound of cicadas outside, Tsushima Kagami, lying in the room, slowly opened his eyes. He lay quietly for a while, his gaze wandering over the ceiling, before slowly sitting up from his bedding and stretching a long, lazy stretch.

"Mmm..."

A groan of comfort escaped the corner of his mouth.

So comfortable.

Tsushima Kagami couldn't remember the last time he had slept so comfortably—sleeping straight until dawn, waking up full of energy without a trace of drowsiness, feeling as if his whole body was brimming with inexhaustible vigor.

It had been a long time since he felt this way.

He stood on the tatami in a daze for a moment before recalling the events of last night.

The scorching heat and impulses that had nearly swallowed him were now completely calmed.

As expected, I'm just too quick-witted. He suddenly remembered the random mission the System had issued last night and entered the System panel to take a look.

[Congratulations, you have completed the System Mission]

[Skill Acquired: My Little Brother is Invincible]

?

Tsushima Kagami's face was full of question marks, and he subconsciously tilted his head.

Why is the mission suddenly completed?

He froze for a moment, then, as if realizing something, his expression changed abruptly.

He hurriedly undid his waistband and reached in to check.

No way, no way!

Did I have a wet dream?!

No wonder I slept so comfortably.

Thinking this, Tsushima Kagami quickly took off his pajama pants and underwear together. After changing into fresh clothes, he went to the bathroom to wash up.

Once he had finally finished cleaning, he walked out of his room to see if Sayuri and the others were up.

Knock, knock.

"Sayuri."

Tsushima Kagami knocked on Sayuri's door, but there was no response from inside.

Then he walked to the next room.

Knock, knock.

"Sonoko-senpai."

Still no answer.

Strange. Did they all sleep in Akane-senpai's room? Then wouldn't just two rooms have been enough from the start?

Thinking this, Tsushima Kagami walked all the way to Kosaka Akane's room.

Knock, knock.

"Akane-senpai, are you there?"

"I'm here. Come in."

Hearing that Kosaka Akane was awake and inviting him in, Tsushima Kagami pushed the door open and entered.

Kosaka Akane, Machida Sonoko, and Sayuri were indeed all there, but they looked completely different from how he imagined someone who had just woken up would look.

All three had heavy dark circles under their eyes, looking exhausted yet carrying a strange kind of hyperactivity.

They were sitting around a small low table piled high with manuscripts, pencils, and eraser shavings. Each of them still held a pen in hand. Upon seeing him enter, they looked up in unison, their eyes filled with "world-weariness."

"Good morning, Kagami-kun."

"What's with you guys?"

Tsushima Kagami blinked, somewhat in disbelief.

"After you went to sleep last night, we suddenly got motivated, so we pulled an all-nighter rushing the manuscripts. We've been at it until now."

Machida Sonoko rubbed her temples.

"Working that hard?"

Tsushima Kagami looked at the three who had suddenly become so enlightened. He walked over to the low table to the side and picked up their manuscripts to flip through.

Not only were the unfinished parts from yesterday completed, but even the O-chinchins that had only been outlined were all filled in.

"Eh? Isn't this a bit too exaggerated? Or did the proportions collapse?"

Tsushima Kagami sat down next to them, holding the manuscript and pointing at the giant object in the drawing.

"Is... is there a problem?"

"I just feel the visual impact is stronger this way."

"Makes sense."

Tsushima Kagami nodded.

Then he flipped to another page. His eyes widened—as expected of manga, it really was "anime volume."

He pointed at the panel as well.

"How can there be such a huge amount? And several times in a row? Can't we follow objective laws of physics? Do you think it's a water faucet?"

"Well, this isn't a gag manga, after all."

Sayuri and the others turned their heads away, blushing.

Tsushima Kagami noticed their movements.

"Why are you turning your heads away?"

"Umm... it's not very appropriate for a boy to point at the dicks in a doujinshi and ask three girls all sorts of questions..."

Tsushima Kagami scratched his head upon hearing this.

Wait, isn't this how we usually discuss things daily? We discussed it just like this yesterday. Why is it abnormal today?

And if me doing this isn't good, is it okay for you, a girl, to shout 'O-chinchin' right out of your mouth?

"What's wrong with you guys?"

Tsushima Kagami leaned in to look at the three who dared not look him in the eye.

"Eh? Why are your faces so red?"

Tsushima Kagami looked at them in confusion. Sayuri, with her back to Tsushima Kagami, spoke up.

"P-pulling an all-nighter to rush manuscripts is pretty exciting, so maybe that's why our faces are red."

Tsushima Kagami nodded.

"Then why turn your heads away?"

"Well... we're girls. With such heavy dark circles and oily faces, we don't want you to look too closely."

"I hadn't considered that."

Tsushima Kagami finally realized, his tone softening.

"Since the manuscripts are finished, you should hurry up and rest first."

"We'll go out for a stroll tonight."

"Then I won't disturb you."

"Okay..."

The three responded in unison, their voices revealing a sense of relief.

Tsushima Kagami added a few words about taking care of their health before standing up to leave.

When the door clicked shut gently, the room fell into silence.

The three stared at each other, and then, simultaneously, let out a long sigh.

Then, the memories of last night flooded back into their minds like a tide.

The dim lighting, the rapid breathing, the entwined fingers, and that "help" session that was so long it nearly caused a breakdown...

The faces of the three turned completely red again. They looked at each other, then extended their hands to look at them.

"Did we... do something wrong to Kagami-kun..."

Sayuri spoke, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and excitement.

"At this point, let's not say things like that."

"After all, it really is our responsibility."

Machida Sonoko said from the side, her face full of shame and apology.

Kosaka Akane was also rubbing her wrist, complaining.

"My hand is so sore."

Hearing Kosaka Akane say this, Sayuri and Machida Sonoko also collapsed as if deflated, rubbing their wrists and drooping their shoulders.

"Who knew Kagami-kun could last that long!"

"In manga, it's clearly over in one panel!"

After Sayuri complained, Machida Sonoko also spoke with a bitter face, shoulders slumped.

"And three times! Three times! It took three times to calm down!"

The three exchanged glances, then looked at their hands again, the blush on their faces deepening.

Only the chirping of cicadas outside the window and the chaotic heartbeats of the three remained in the room.

...

And so, Tsushima Kagami didn't wake the three until noon for lunch. Afterwards, the three returned to the room, still drowsy, and slept again until the sun went down in the afternoon before being woken up one by one to start grooming and dressing, preparing to go out and play together later.
