Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: The Undecipherable History Text

"What a huge golden bell, so extravagant!" Molly exclaimed.

Even the shogun of Wano wouldn't spend such a great price to forge a giant bell like this. For an object like this, its historical value was already on par with the value of the gold itself.

"This is the bell of Shandora," Ren said. Even now, when he told this story, he found it to be romantic.

The Shandians had not forgotten their promise with their friend for four hundred years, continuously fighting to reclaim their homeland and to light the promised beacon.

How could this not be considered a man's romance?

However, the friendship between the Shandians and Norland was sincere, but the human heart is greedy.

If it weren't for the massive Knock-Up Stream that had launched the Shandians into the sky, this race of people would have long perished at the hands of the 2,000 soldiers of the Kingdom of Rurubu.

Ren slowly recounted this story to Molly and Yuriko. Molly was moved to tears.

Because they came to the sky island by flying up from a distance, Molly had never stayed on Jaya Island below the sky island and did not know these past events. Hearing that Ren said Norland was ultimately executed as a liar, and that his descendants are still searching for the Eye of the Sea on the great sea, she felt very upset.

"Norland didn't lie at all. If it weren't for the Knock-Up Stream, he wouldn't have died wrongfully."

"But after Norland returned to his homeland, he told this to his king. If not for the Knock-Up Stream, what awaited the Shandians would have been a massacre. That's hardly what a true friend would do, is it?" Yuriko said.

Having experienced the fickleness of the world after her family's decline, she was not so naive.

"Mom, you're such a buzzkill," Molly pouted.

"You're the one who needs to be more worldly-wise," Yuriko suspected that maybe she had protected her too well in the past.

But then again, Norland might not have intentionally引来 the enemy. Perhaps he was just too naive; there are no shortage of naive people in this world.

"Ren-dono, should we 'light the bell of Shandora'?" Molly's eyes sparkled, her entire face showing an expectant expression.

"It takes a lot of strength to transmit a sound all the way to the Blue Sea," Ren said. At the very least, the entire golden bell would have to be smashed to pieces to possibly transmit the sound.

The value of raw gold and an intact golden bell cannot even be compared.

Hearing this, Molly immediately deflated.

The value of raw gold alone would be cut by at least half. Although it was a difficult choice, for a little money-grubber like her, it was impossible to give up over a thousand platinum.

But then Ren's words took a turn. "However, if we use the power of a Hito Hito no Mi to amplify the sound waves, we should be able to transmit the sound without destroying the golden bell."

"Can you really do that?"

"Probably. But let's head down first. I don't want to just deal with the sky islanders only to provoke the Shandians." Ren thought for a moment and decided to just take the entire Upper Yard with him.

Actually, the Upper Yard was of no use to him. This island was just a small part of Jaya, and he was not short on land now.

The reason he decided to take it away was only to end the conflict between the Shandians and the sky islanders.

This could be considered Ren's repayment after taking away Gold City. Although these two races might not be very grateful.

But they had been fighting over this "Jerusalem" for too long. Those adult Shandians didn't matter, but the newborn children didn't have to grow up bearing this heavy mission.

If it weren't for this grudge, the Shandians would have long since integrated with the sky islanders.

The current leader of the sky islanders is Gan Fall. With him in charge, the two sides should be able to get along amicably.

However, with Ren's current strength, moving an entire island to the New World was not an easy task and required some preparation. The first thing was to create enough clouds to lift the island.

This was not particularly difficult. Ren's Devil Fruit had already awakened, and as long as the clouds continued to spread, they would soon be able to envelop the Upper Yard.

The real difficulty lay in his stamina. To lift the island, he needed to maintain a high-density cloud for a long time, not to mention having to return to Wano in the New World.

Maintaining clouds required stamina. If the distance wasn't too far or the object being carried wasn't too heavy, the impact wasn't that great.

But moving an island was, even among the giant race, a legendary feat.

It was said that five hundred years ago, a giant known as the "demon man" Oz, would move the islands he liked, and was thus called Oz the Transporter.

Oz's body was far larger than that of an ordinary giant. His height was a full 67 meters, several times that of a normal giant.

But this size was not the largest among the giant race.

For example, his descendant, Little Oz, was 80 meters tall. The seventh captain of Blackbeard's fleet, the giant warship San Juan Wolf, was an incredible 180 meters tall, taller than three Ultraman Tiga stacked on top of each other.

Ren took Molly and Yuriko back to the ruins of Shandora and found the original History Text.

"These characters are..." As soon as Yuriko saw these characters, she frowned and reached out her slender fingers to trace the grooves on the blue square rock.

What troubled her was that she didn't recognize these characters at all.

"These characters seem a bit different from the ones I learned before. Only a very few of them are the same as the characters from Wano." Yuriko showed a look of regret and apology.

She had thought she could help Ren a little, but in the end, she couldn't do anything.

"It seems the characters of the Great Kingdom are still different from those of Wano. It seems that only the Kozuki family still possesses the ability to decipher the History Texts."

"I'm sorry, Ren-dono, I'm so useless..."

She lowered her head sadly. Ren-dono had given her a Devil Fruit and taken her out to sea, showing her so many amazing sights, but in the end, she was of no use.

This made her feel very lost.

But Ren didn't think much of it.

He hadn't been very interested in this History Text to begin with. And if he remembered correctly, the content of this sky island History Text was still related to the Sea King.

And the current Sea King of this generation had not been born yet.

"Don't blame yourself, Yuriko. I said I'm not interested in past history, weapons, or Laugh Tale. The only thing that matters in this world is being the last one standing."
