Since I was now in charge of the company's audit, I headed straight to the Finance Department. The moment I got there, I realized the internal audit had already started. That caught me off guard.
Isabelle Leek, who managed the department, handed me a stack of documents. "These are all the accounts up to now, Ms. Stovall. You can go through them first. This year's audit will include Mr. Quinn's side too, so the workload will be heavier. Mr. Fuller plans to let Harrison Credit handle the external audit."
I flipped through the ledgers, numbers and reports blending together as a dull ache started forming behind my eyes. "Alright, I understand," I said, keeping my tone steady. "I'll review these first. Also, prepare a copy of AC Credit's past audit reports for me."
"Sure."
With that, I carried everything back to my office. The files felt heavier than they should, like the weight of them wasn't just paper but expectation.
