Chapter 25 - Date With Mount Lady

I got out of the car and approached the restaurant Takeyama and I had chosen. It was a five-star restaurant, exclusive only to the elites—one of the most expensive places in Tokyo. Even Takeyama was shocked when I suggested it.

In this life, I vowed to enjoy life to the fullest. None of the small things matter. What matters are my goals and what I want.

Walking a few feet forward, I saw Mount Lady tapping her foot impatiently on the floor. I was supposed to pick her up, but for some reason she refused and insisted we meet here instead.

She wore a long strapless black gown that clung tightly to her body, accentuating her curves. The fabric was embedded with fine glittering patterns that shimmered like scattered stars whenever the light touched it, making the entire dress sparkle elegantly.

The moment she saw me, her eyes lit up. We walked into the restaurant and ordered some food.

No—a mountain of food.

To be honest, I was flabbergasted by the amount she ordered. We kept racking up bills upon bills because she continued ordering different cuisines and devouring them as if she had a bottomless pit for a stomach.

Then I began to consider that suggesting this place might have been a huge financial mistake, because this wasn't the type of restaurant you visit just to fill your belly. But Mount Lady was very shameless. If I didn't have any ulterior motives, I would have suggested we split the bill. But well…

While eating, we talked about many things.

"Honestly, you are much younger than me. I am 23 years old," she said with a sigh.

"It doesn't matter. It's a meager difference. Besides, you couldn't even tell I was that young. I really like you. So, will you go out with me?" I asked.

She thought about it for a moment before finally replying.

"Dating me will be quite hard because—because I am a really busy person. So let's give it some time, Jacob. I like you and I want to go out with you, but I don't want to keep hurting your feelings," she said in a low voice.

I was somewhat satisfied with her answer and understood what she meant.

"So, do you have a Quirk, Jacob?" she suddenly asked. I instantly knew this question would determine whether our relationship could work.

"Yes. I have a Strength Quirk, and I will also be participating in the upcoming UA exam. I am a late bloomer," I explained. She laughed, and we continued talking about other things.

One thing was certain—she seemed to like my reply about joining the UA and aiming to become a pro-hero.

"Waaaaah~ Thank you so much for today," she exclaimed, patting her not-so-bulging stomach while empty plates piled up in front of her.

With a smile, I paid the ridiculous bill, and in retaliation, I activated my hypnosis Quirk.

"Takeyama–san, let's go to a hotel. It's kind of late—"

BZZZTT.

Suddenly, Takeyama's phone began to ring. She picked it up, and her eyes suddenly widened in shock.

With a sharp jerk, she dashed toward the exit, running as if her life depended on it.

"I will see you later, Jacob! I am sorry, I have something urgent to attend to!" she shouted before disappearing from my view.

I just stood there—like an idiot. Even though I knew why she had left so urgently, I was still extremely frustrated.

Next time, you won't slip away from me.

Dejected, I left the restaurant and went home.

After getting home, I went straight to my room and the person I saw lying on my bed startled me. She was wearing see-through lingerie, and on the side drawer I noticed a small bottle of alcohol that had already been completely emptied.
