Those so-called spirit beasts were all skinny, dispirited, and completely incomparable to the war beasts usually paired with Heavenly Phoenix bearers. There was no sign at all of any truly fierce bloodline in them.
Their fur was dull, their bodies were thin, and even the way they lay in the cages looked miserable.
Some were shivering in the corners, some had wounds that had clearly not been treated properly, and some looked so weak that even if they were released now, they would probably not be able to run ten steps before collapsing to the ground.
What made matters even more ridiculous was that among the ten creatures brought over, there were even tiny little things like a gray civet no bigger than a pillow and a yellow long-eared marmot with a face so frightened that it looked as if it had already accepted death.
These creatures clearly had no business stepping onto a battlefield unless the Demon Clan planned to stop fighting and laugh themselves to death first.
