The man began to edge his way down the cliff. This sloped section was entirely different from where they harvested the swiftlet nests. The rocks here were perpetually wet, and the sea waves reached almost halfway up the rock face. Every time the waves receded, they revealed sleek, glossy black patches of seaweed. But every time a wave crashed in, white spray erupted, engulfing a person entirely, and the submerged rocks trembled violently beneath their feet.
