Chapter 36: The Thunderous Simp, The Fire Lord's Gloom, and The Man of Steel part- 1
World 19: The World of Demon Slayers (Kimetsu no Yaiba Universe - Adult Corps)
Ethan Hunt felt the transition hit him like a lightning bolt—literally. The air smelled of ozone, wisteria flowers, and hysterical crying.
He opened his host's eyes. He was clinging to a tree. Below him, a beautiful woman with long black hair and pink eyes was looking up with a mix of pity and confusion.
[Initialization Complete.][Host: Zenitsu Agatsuma.][Age: 20 (Hashira Candidate).][Current Status: Crying in a tree because he heard a spider.][Love Interest: Nezuko Kamado.][Relationship Status: "She thinks I am a pet."]
(Oh, for the love of... Zenitsu? The guy who screams more than he breathes?) Ethan sighed, his virtual headache returning instantly. (And he is clinging to a pine tree like a terrified koala. Zenitsu! Get down from there! You are embarrassing us!)
Zenitsu sobbed, snot bubbling from his nose. "I can't! It is dangerous down there! The vibrations in the earth... something scary is coming!"
(Yes, something is coming. A Transmigrator. And he is going to steal Nezuko while you are up here hugging bark.)
[Villain Identity: Rai "The Thunder King" (Transmigrator).][Villain Ability: "The Stormbringer System". Can manipulate weather to create dramatic backdrops for his entrances. Also possesses "fake" Thunder Breathing that looks flashier but has no actual power.][Current Situation: Rai has hired a low-level demon to attack Nezuko. He plans to swoop in, kill the weak demon with a lightning strike, and claim he saved her from a Lower Moon.]
Ethan scanned the clearing. From the bushes, a generic demon with too many eyes was creeping toward Nezuko. It looked bored, clearly a paid actor in this villain's play.
Suddenly, the sky darkened. Thunder rumbled—unnaturally loud and perfectly timed.
A man dropped from the sky, landing between Nezuko and the demon. He had spiky blue hair and a cape that fluttered despite the lack of wind.
"Fear not, fair maiden!" Rai shouted, posing with a sword that was clearly over-decorated. "I, Rai, the True Master of Thunder, shall protect you from this... uh... terrifying beast!"
Rai raised his sword. "Thunder Breathing, Eleventh Form: The Flashy Ego Strike!"
Nezuko blinked. She reached for her box (she was human now, but still carried a weapon case), but Rai waved her back. "Stay back! It is too dangerous for a fragile flower!"
(Fragile flower? Nezuko kicked a demon's head off last week! This guy is patronizing her. Zenitsu, are you seeing this? He is treating your girl like an NPC!)
Zenitsu wiped his eyes. "But... he looks strong. Maybe he should save her..."
(He is a fraud! That lightning? It is a hologram! That demon? It is on his payroll! If you don't get down there, I am going to activate the 'Shock Collar' protocol. Do you want me to electrocute your brain?)
"No! No shocks!" Zenitsu shrieked.
(Then move! I am purchasing a System Skill for you: 'The Insomniac's Courage'. Cost: 400 Points. It allows you to fight with your 'Sleep Mode' skills while fully awake. No more passing out. You are going to be conscious for every second of this badassery.)
Ethan activated the skill.
Zenitsu felt a strange coldness wash over his brain. The fear didn't vanish, but it was pushed behind a wall of icy focus. He stopped crying. He let go of the tree.
THUD.
Zenitsu landed on his feet behind Rai. The sound was soft, barely a whisper.
Rai was busy monologuing to the demon. "Prepare to die, foul creature! My lightning will—"
"Hey," Zenitsu said. His voice wasn't a scream. It was a low, crackling buzz.
Rai jumped, turning around. "Who... oh, it is the crybaby. Go back to your tree, yellow boy. The adults are working."
Zenitsu looked at Nezuko. She looked worried.
"Zenitsu-san?" she whispered.
"I am awake," Zenitsu said, more to himself than her. He looked at Rai. "Your sound... is awful. It is out of tune. You are lying."
"Lying?" Rai scoffed. "I am the Thunder King! Watch!"
Rai swung his sword at the demon. A bolt of fake blue lightning shot out. The demon prepared to take a dive.
(Now, Zenitsu! Thunderclap and Flash! Speed of sound!)
Zenitsu didn't hesitate. He dropped into a stance. The air around him began to hiss.
"Thunder Breathing... First Form."
BOOM.
The sound barrier shattered.
Zenitsu vanished.
To the naked eye, it looked like a streak of yellow light zigzagged through the clearing.
First, Zenitsu appeared in front of the demon. He didn't kill it. He simply slapped it with the flat of his blade—hard enough to knock it unconscious and send it flying into the bushes.
"Actor dismissed," Zenitsu muttered.
Then, he appeared behind Rai.
Rai was still midway through his swing, aiming at empty air where the demon used to be.
"And you," Zenitsu whispered in Rai's ear.
ZAP.
Zenitsu tapped the hilt of his sword against Rai's "funny bone" (the ulnar nerve). But with Thunder Breathing precision.
"AAAAHHH!" Rai screamed, dropping his sword. "My arm! It is numb! It feels like soda water!"
Zenitsu sheathed his blade. CLICK.
As the sword clicked into the scabbard, Rai's cape—which had been held up by wires—was severed. It fluttered sadly to the ground.
Zenitsu stood up straight. The "Insomniac's Courage" wore off. The fear rushed back in.
"EEEK!" Zenitsu shrieked, jumping into Nezuko's arms. "Nezuko-chan! Did you see that? It was so scary! The demon was huge!"
Nezuko caught him, surprised by the sudden shift from "Badass God of Thunder" back to "Whiny Puppy." But she was smiling.
"You were amazing, Zenitsu-san," Nezuko said, patting his head. "You were faster than lightning."
Rai, clutching his numb arm and standing in a pile of cut wires, looked at them. "But... but my special effects..."
"Your sound is terrible," Zenitsu mumbled into Nezuko's shoulder. "Go away before I cry on you."
Rai fled. You cannot defeat a man who switches between God Mode and Crybaby Mode so seamlessly. It is psychologically confusing.
