She was up before anyone else.
That had been happening a lot lately. Her body had apparently decided that four hours of sleep was enough and the rest of the night could be spent lying in the dark thinking about things she had no immediate solution for.
Tonight had been worse than usual because the thing she was lying there thinking about was not a problem. It was just a fact. A large warm fact that sat in the middle of her chest and did not leave room for much else.
She knew what Vaelor was waiting to say.
She had known since sometime around the second hour of staring at the ceiling. And knowing it did not make it smaller or easier to carry. It made it larger. The kind of large that had no edges.
