His eyes hardened, not in anger, perhaps a little. but also in conviction. "I'm not mad. I should have told you earlier, yes. But I didn't think it mattered, as long as the oppressed got justice."
"The fuck are you even saying?" Meret spat. "I can't believe I'm talking to you. Do you know what this means? That I—" she pressed a hand to her head— "that I caused prominent men's deaths because I helped rogues get justice? Rogues, Xavier?! Are you insane?"
"I didn't think it mattered," he said again, quieter but still stubborn. "I still don't think it mattered. Everyone deserves justices from being oppressed one way or the other except you're just being racist about this."
