Chapter 96 - Chapter 96 Help (Part 3)

When Newt heard Li Chuan's words, the look in his eyes immediately changed.

If he had previously seen Li Chuan as just a kind wizard, now the look in his eyes was that of someone seeing a kindred spirit.

Because his philosophy from childhood has always been: "There is nothing strange about creatures; it's just that people's minds are too narrow."

"See if I don't get a good grip on you!"

Li Chuan, of course, could feel Newt's very obvious change in attitude.

He knew Newt's personality, which is why he deliberately said that. He wasn't interested in Newt's magical creatures because, for now, he didn't have the ability to bring those magical creatures to other Worlds.

However, he was very interested in Newt's incredibly powerful Undetectable Extension Charm.

For ordinary wizards, like him and Old Manu, using the Undetectable Extension Charm would at most create a space of a few dozen square meters. But Newt directly opened up a Small World in his own suitcase.

It's clear that his understanding of the Undetectable Extension Charm is probably unmatched by anyone in the entire wizarding World.

By establishing a good relationship with Newt, he could later use the excuse of wanting to raise some magical creatures himself to ask Newt for guidance on the Undetectable Extension Charm.

"Do you know about Horned Serpents? I found a pair in the Far East previously; they might be the last remaining breeding pair of Horned Serpents."

"You actually found Horned Serpents? I thought they were extinct! I heard Horned Serpents have hides even tougher than Fire dragons, and most spells basically have no effect on them."

"Yes, they are naturally combative, and many trolls like to ride on their backs, trying to tame them, but they are always thrown off, ending up with injuries all over."

"Hahaha, so there's such a thing, that's so interesting."

Walking and chatting like this, the two talked from magical creatures to Hogwarts, then discovered they were both Hufflepuffs, and instantly became even closer.

Tina, who was leading the two, listened to them chatting so happily and was speechless. They were about to face a Magical Congress of the United States of America trial, yet the two were still so carefree.

But honestly, listening to them talk about interesting stories about magical creatures, and their optimistic attitudes, also infected her quite a bit.

The frustration of being dismissed and transferred to the Wand Permit Office during this period also eased somewhat.

Thus, the three entered the Magical Congress of the United States of America and took the magic elevator to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

"The Wizards' Confederation has already threatened to send a delegation, believing yesterday's attack is related to Grindelwald!"

Seraphina Picquery, the President of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, was discussing the incident of the unknown magical creature attacking Muggles yesterday with senators and Aurors.

The door suddenly pushed open, and Tina walked in with Li Chuan and Newt.

"Ms. Goldstein, I've already made myself very clear about your situation; you are no longer an Auror."

Picquery frowned when she saw Tina and said impatiently.

Tina wanted to explain, but just as she opened her mouth, Picquery interrupted her again.

"This office only discusses major incidents, get out!"

"Yes, yes, Officer."

Hearing this, Tina had no choice but to pull Li Chuan and Newt and turn to walk out the door.

At this moment, Li Chuan's gaze was actually fixed on a middle-aged male wizard behind Picquery.

Because he knew that the middle-aged male wizard, ostensibly Percival Graves, the Director of Magical Security for the U.S. Magical Congress of the United States of America, was actually the Black Wizard Grindelwald in disguise.

The real Percival Graves had probably been killed by Grindelwald long ago.

"Wait!"

Just as the three were about to exit the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Picquery seemed to suddenly remember something. She pointed at Li Chuan and asked:

"Are you Tom Foley?"

"Yes, esteemed President Picquery."

Li Chuan paused for a moment and smiled.

Picquery nodded:

"As expected of a member of the Folly family. I heard you apprehended the Black Wizard Manu Angel; he once killed one of our excellent Aurors.

Very good, on behalf of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, I thank you.

Later, you can have Ms. Goldstein take you to collect the bounty for Manu Angel."

"That's what I should do."

Li Chuan nodded, not expecting to be able to collect another sum of Galleons in the United States.

Indeed, Old Manu was wanted by the Ministry of Magic in fifteen countries; if he was willing to travel to all fifteen countries, he might be able to collect fifteen bounties.

Of course, this wasn't the most important thing; he wasn't particularly short on Galleons now. What was important was that since Picquery could recognize him, it meant he already had a tiny bit of international fame.

"I'm sorry, I misunderstood you."

Leaving the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Tina apologized to Li Chuan. She could now fully confirm that Li Chuan and Newt did not know each other and their encounter there was just a coincidence.

After taking Li Chuan to collect the bounty, she told him he could leave.

"I'll wait for Newt."

Li Chuan certainly wouldn't leave now. He had just established a good relationship with Newt, and besides, Newt would be acquitted soon anyway.

Seeing Li Chuan's insistence, Tina didn't say much and took them both to the Wand Permit Office.

However, halfway through Tina's questioning of Newt, the Director of Magical Security, disguised as Grindelwald, arrived. After some inquiries, he had Tina open Newt's suitcase.

The result was obvious: Newt's suitcase did not contain magical creatures, but a pile of bread.

It turned out that because Newt's suitcase and Jacob's suitcase were identical in appearance, they got them mixed up during their conflict in the alley outside the bank.

Li Chuan witnessed this process at the time, but he did not intervene.

Now that Newt's suitcase contained no magical creatures, the charges of him privately raising magical creatures and releasing them to cause trouble naturally could not be established, so he was acquitted.

"I can't believe you didn't obliviate that Muggle. If someone questions me later, I'm done for."

On the street outside the Magical Congress of the United States of America, Tina said with a headache.

Just now, she could have continued to arrest Newt for not obliviating the Muggle, but thinking that Newt had the wrong suitcase and they needed to retrieve it first, she hesitated and didn't bring it up.

"Don't worry, I'll find my suitcase. It's just that your laws here are too backward, forbidding the keeping of all magical creatures. They are actually all very lovely."

Newt replied to Tina, then turned to Li Chuan and thanked him:

"Thank you, Tom. This originally had nothing to do with you, and yet you got dragged into it."

"Newt, don't say that. I'm just traveling, and it's quite interesting."

Li Chuan smiled faintly.
