After getting off the train, Adelaide took a taxi back to Dumbledores Old House in Godrics Hollow by herself. At this time, Edward, the Ministry of Magic's corporate slave, was still working hard overtime, and only the House-elf Bru was in the old house.
As soon as she stepped into the house, she smelled an enticing aroma. The thoughtful House-elf Bru had already prepared delicious roasted lamb chops and apple pie for her, along with a large serving of strawberry ice cream.
Adelaide couldn't wait to start feasting, thoroughly enjoying this sumptuous dinner.
After eating her fill, she collapsed lazily onto the soft, comfortable sofa, switched on the TV, and began watching cartoons with great interest to pass the time while waiting for Edward to come home from work.
According to reliable sources, Edward, this corporate slave, would have to wait until Christmas Eve to officially start his long-awaited Christmas holiday. Before that, Adelaide still had two days of free time. While watching cartoons, she thought about what kind of fun she could find to pass the time tomorrow and the day after.
What?
Make her do homework?
That was simply a fantasy!
Unless it was the very last day and things were urgent, she wouldn't even take out her parchment and quill!
Adelaide stroked her chin, suddenly remembering that before leaving Hogwarts, she had asked Headmaster Dumbledore to help her get a visitation permit for St Mungos Hospital.
Since she had such a rare opportunity, why not make a trip to St Mungos tomorrow to visit her beloved Great-Granduncle? Perhaps she could even ask for her Christmas gift in advance.
Then she remembered that Alice MacFusty was also at St Mungos. After the visit, why not invite her to go shopping in London together?
And stop by Chinatown for some good food.
This pure-blood little Wizard who grew up on an island probably had never seen the bustling London Muggle World. As her best friend, she had an obligation to take her to broaden her horizons and see the world.
"Great-Granduncle, I've come to see you~"
Accompanied by a crisp and pleasant shout, Adelaide, like a lively little deer, stepped with light and cheerful paces into Gellert Grindelwald's heavily protected intensive care unit.
The room was quiet, with sunlight spilling through the gaps in the curtains onto the floor, forming patches of mottled light and shadow.
Gellert was lying quietly on the hospital bed, his eyes tightly closed, seemingly resting his mind.
Although he appeared calm and peaceful, a faint pressure unconsciously radiated from him, as if even in sleep, he still possessed awe-inspiring power and dignity.
With Adelaide's arrival, Gellert instantly opened his eyes at the sound, like an awakened lion, his gaze sharp and alert.
But just a moment later, he quickly adjusted his aura. The original powerful, high-status pressure vanished instantly, replaced by the aura of a terminally ill patient on the verge of death.
He slightly raised his head, a flash of imperceptible excitement in his eyes, as he quickly swept his gaze toward the door.
However, when he discovered that only Adelaide had come to visit him this time, the smile that had just emerged instantly froze on the corners of his mouth.
Immediately after, his face darkened, and his originally weak and powerless appearance vanished in the blink of an eye. He returned to his usual resolute and strong image.
He gave a cold snort, unceremoniously turned his head to the side, closed his eyes again, and resumed resting his mind.
Seeing Gellert's obvious change in attitude, Adelaide was stunned for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh out of frustration.
She put her hands on her hips and said with some annoyance, "Great-Granduncle, your change in attitude is too fast and too obvious! Even if Dumbledore didn't come, can't you at least show a better face to your dear grandniece?"
Gellert's brow furrowed, and he snapped his eyes open, retortingly in a stiff tone, "Stop talking nonsense here! I am merely feeling a bit tired today. What does it have to do with that Dumbledore? I am not familiar with him at all."
As Christmas was approaching, Dumbledore had been unusually busy lately.
On one hand, he had to prepare for the grand Christmas feast at school; on the other hand, he had to deal with the Death Eaters in the shadows, help the Ministry of Magic cover up the Azkaban prison break, and monitor the Wizengamot to ensure they didn't go too far. He was truly stretched thin.
Because of this, he had detailed his current situation in a letter to Gellert, stating that he really had no time to spare and hoped to get a three-week visitation break.
Gellert had always been reasonable, so he immediately and understandingly approved Dumbledore's request, and even thoughtfully allowed Dumbledore not to visit for five weeks, appearing very easy to talk to—but this was all just a facade; he was actually incredibly upset.
See, after not seeing each other for only two weeks, he started throwing a tantrum.
Adelaide, watching from the side, took it all in. She shook her head helplessly, a hint of faint disdain showing in her eyes.
This guy, who usually seemed arrogant and cold, completely lost his sanity once he fell in love. He was simply an irredeemable tsundere with a love brain!
And it looked like his love brain was already in the terminal stage; he was beyond saving in this lifetime.
Adelaide sighed with mental exhaustion, but he was her Great-Granduncle after all, and plus, the two of them were her top ship. She still had to offer some advice.
"Great-Granduncle, please don't say such hurtful things. Dumbledore's current business is all for you!"
"On one hand, he's doing his best to deal with the negative news about the Wizengamot, trying to eliminate the bad influence they bring; on the other hand, he's conducting difficult negotiations with the British Ministry of Magic using the extermination of Death Eater forces as a bargaining chip, trying every possible way to secure favorable conditions. And all of this is to clear the Wizengamot's terrible reputation in the British Wizarding World!"
"If things go smoothly, in a few years, the Wizengamot might be able to rise again with Britain as a solid base! By then, you won't have to keep pretending to be sick in this hospital room—and in my opinion, given the huge contributions the Wizengamot might make in the future, you might even have a chance to get parole, and then go out traveling and enjoying life with Dumbledore!"
After hearing this, Gellert was silent for a while, then he closed his eyes tightly and gave no response.
Adelaide felt gratified by this. It seemed her persuasive skills had improved recently, enough to even sell a pipe dream to Gellert Grindelwald.
Since this stubborn old man didn't retort sarcastically as usual, it meant Gellert had taken those words to heart and even agreed, probably considering how to strike a big blow against the Death Eaters.
Now she just hoped the Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort would step up and sacrifice themselves, giving the Wizengamot an excuse to clear their name, the British Ministry of Magic a chance to mend their ways, creating a moment for GGAD to reconcile, and giving Adelaide and the savior a normal school experience.
Sacrificing a small group of them to save the entire British Wizarding World—it's so worth it!
