Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Annihilation of the Clan

Adelaide mused to herself. Although she wasn't entirely clear about the relationship between Anna Borgin and her elder brother, after that perilous Halloween night, the current Borgin family head must be highly wary of the MacFusty Family.

Thus, attempting to gather useful information indirectly through roundabout probing would likely be ineffective... In that case, it might be better to let the two families confront each other head-on!

This incident was no longer a mere dispute; it involved the MacFusty Family's highly acclaimed genius siblings. Especially Jack MacFusty, who possessed both the identity of a legitimate Wizard and a rare talent for Dark Arts, was currently unconscious in the intensive care unit of St Mungos Hospital!

Adelaide didn't believe the MacFusty Family would simply swallow this grievance so easily.

A thought suddenly struck her, and she said to Alice MacFusty, "Miss MacFusty, how do you get along with the Borgin Lady who married into your family? I've just had an idea."

Alice MacFusty looked at her suspiciously and said, "Please share any good ideas you have; don't hesitate."

Adelaide continued, "As you know, a vanishing cabinet is not an ordinary magic item found everywhere, and Borgin and Burkes, run by the Borgin Family, is the largest magic item trading store in the entire British Wizarding World. So, why not have your family members take that Borgin Lady to Borgin and Burkes to inquire and investigate? You might discover some crucial clues!"

Alice MacFusty's originally dim eyes suddenly lit up, but this light lasted only a moment before quickly fading like a shooting star, replaced by an even deeper gloom and despondency than before.

Her lips curved into a bitter smile as she slowly spoke, "The idea you proposed is indeed excellent. If it could be implemented, it might genuinely change our current predicament."

"However, it is incredibly regrettable that the Borgin Lady has passed away... Now, the entire MacFusty Family consists only of my brother and me, relying on each other, with no other family members to support us as a strong backing."

Upon hearing this, Adelaide's eyes widened in astonishment; she was completely stunned.

This couldn't be!

The MacFusty Family had successfully monopolized the local Dragon management business in the Hebrides Islands for several centuries. How could such a large and powerful family be as sparsely populated as the Malfoy Family?

As if seeing through Adelaide's doubts, Alice bit her lip tightly, enduring her inner pain, and continued to explain, "I know Headmaster Dumbledore is your guardian, so I will trust you. What I am about to tell you, I hope you will keep it a secret for me."

Seeing Alice's serious and earnest demeanor, Adelaide nodded without hesitation, solemnly raising her right hand and swearing an oath in the name of her renowned and awe-inspiring Great-Granduncle, Gellert Grindelwald, vowing that she would not reveal a single word of the matter.

"That would have been around September two years ago, when the weather was gradually turning cooler. On a seemingly ordinary day, a group of mysterious Death Eaters quietly crossed the ocean and arrived at the Hebrides Islands."

"They came menacingly, claiming that Lord Voldemort wished to summon the head of the MacFusty Family – the Death Eater contingent included not only pure-blood Wizards but also fierce and brutal Werewolves, Giants, and Dementors."

"Our MacFusty Family has always been a pure-blood family. Although there's a trace of Blood-Cursed Beastmen bloodline within the family, this isn't enough reason for Lord Voldemort to completely eradicate us. Therefore, facing these uninvited guests, we didn't show too much resistance."

"When the family head learned of Lord Voldemort's invitation, he followed those Death Eaters, leaving the family territory to meet the terrifying Dark Lord in an unknown place. However, no one expected that this departure would be a permanent farewell; the family head was never heard from again."

"Several esteemed elders in the family sensed that something was amiss. They immediately issued an urgent summons to family members scattered across various locations. When the feedback came, everyone was shocked – most of the family members outside the islands had unfortunately fallen victim to the Death Eaters, either missing or confirmed dead!"

"This news plunged the island's family members into panic. What was even more terrifying was that, at some unknown point, the entire Hebrides Islands had been heavily surrounded by a large number of eerie Inferi. Seeing the escape routes narrowing, the family elders, after much deliberation, made a difficult decision: they would do their utmost to protect the lives of the younger generation, ensuring that these future hopes of the family could continue."

At this point, Alice MacFusty's voice became choked. "And so, amidst chaos and panic, the young family members mounted Dragons and galloped towards Hogwarts. Everyone firmly believed that as long as they could successfully reach Hogwarts and see Headmaster Dumbledore, they would surely overcome the danger and find true safety."

"The Death Eaters naturally knew this, so they desperately and unscrupulously tried to block us, attempting to prevent us from escaping their clutches. In the end, only my brother and I managed to successfully escape and be rescued from the younger generation."

"Soon after we escaped, Headmaster Dumbledore and the British Aurors rushed to provide support, but the family members on the Hebrides Islands had already been brutally murdered, none spared. The entire island was shrouded in death and blood. Only a dozen scarred and dying Dragons remained at the scene; these poor Dragons were later sent to Romania for recuperation."

Upon hearing this, a flash of lightning seemed to strike Adelaide's mind, and she instantly understood.

It turned out that Headmaster Dumbledore's overwhelming busyness two years ago wasn't just about handling Gellert's medical parole; he also had to simultaneously contend with the severe crises and challenges brought by those heinous Death Eaters... Perhaps even her Great-Granduncle's smooth journey to St Mungos Hospital in Britain for treatment was due to a secret agreement between Headmaster Dumbledore and the British Ministry of Magic regarding the fight against the Death Eaters.

What shocked her even more was that Dementors were involved in this incident, which undoubtedly meant that the Death Eaters imprisoned in Azkaban had regained their freedom.
