The atmosphere at the dining table was relaxed.
Elle was talking about a crying scene filmed today.
At first, she couldn't squeeze out tears no matter what. Later, the assistant director told her a story about her puppy getting sick last year.
She immediately thought of what if something happened to her own puppy, and tears came out instantly.
"That feeling was so amazing!"
Elle's eyes shone: "Just a sour feeling in my heart, then a twitch in my nose, totally uncontrollable!"
As she spoke, a purple attribute orb dropped from her:
[Emotional Memory Trigger +5]
Cassius absorbed it instantly!
He felt a soft part of his heart being touched, gaining new insights on how to mobilize real emotions.
After dinner, they returned to the hotel booked by the production crew.
Elle was obviously exhausted, but her spirit was still hyped.
Girls of this age were exactly when energy was most abundant!
Elle insisted on lingering in the living room of Cassius's suite, refusing to leave, chattering about the scenes to be filmed tomorrow.
Seeing it getting late, Dakota got up to pull Elle:
"Alright, Elle, it's too late. Time to go back to our room to sleep. Let Cassius rest."
"No!"
Elle hugged a sofa cushion and acted shamelessly, glancing at Cassius with a bit of smugness and coquetry:
"Let me stay a bit longer! Brother Cassius definitely doesn't mind! Right?"
She was wearing a loose nightgown. With this twist, a strap accidentally slipped off one side, revealing a small part of a smooth shoulder and delicate collarbone.
Before Cassius could speak, Dakota stepped forward a bit embarrassed, wanting to pull Elle up:
"Stop messing around, get up quickly!"
"No!"
Elle laughed and dodged back. The two sisters started laughing and playing by the sofa.
Elle didn't have much strength. Pulled by Dakota, she fell backward.
The hem of her nightgown rolled up quite a bit with the movement, a pair of straight, fair legs almost completely exposed to the air.
She giggled unknowingly.
To subdue her, Dakota leaned over to grab her arm.
She was also wearing a silk slip dress, the neckline already a bit low. This action made the view of her chest inadvertently revealed.
Noticing Cassius's gaze, a flush instantly flew onto her cheeks. She quickly used her free hand to cover it subconsciously, her tone both shy and annoyed:
"Elle! Stop playing! Come back with me!"
Elle seemed completely oblivious, or didn't care at all. Struggling, she looked at Cassius:
"Brother Cassius, save me! Sister is bullying me!"
Damn!
Cassius instantly felt he didn't have enough blood!
A bit heady!
Sitting on the single sofa opposite, watching this sudden welfare scene before him, he feasted his eyes.
"Elle, listen to your sister. Time to rest."
Cassius finally spoke to diffuse the situation.
Hearing her idol speak, Elle calmed down a bit, but was still pulled up by Dakota while pouting.
Dakota quickly helped her adjust the slipped strap and rolled-up hem.
Her cheeks still flushed, not daring to look Cassius in the eye, she half-dragged the still grimacing Elle out of the room.
The small living room of the suite finally quieted down, leaving only Cassius alone.
Outside the window was the quiet night of West Virginia, faint insect chirps in the distance. The lingering charm of the playful scene just now seemed to still float in the air.
After a while, Dakota returned alone, the blush on her face not completely faded.
She poured herself a glass of water and sat on an armchair a bit further away, deliberately avoiding the place of the frolic just now.
"Thank you for today. Elle hasn't been this happy in a long time. In this circle, she's sometimes quite lonely."
Cassius shook his head. "I gained a lot from her too!"
Dakota smiled, her gray-blue eyes looking very focused under the soft light:
"I'm a bit curious about you!"
"Under your seemingly calm appearance, too many things are hidden!"
She paused, her tone curious:
"You seem to always know what you want next. This feeling of clear goals is rare in this flashy circle!"
Cassius looked at her and didn't answer immediately.
He involuntarily thought of the upcoming test footage, the invisible competition with Ryan Reynolds, the cruelty and opportunities of Hollywood.
An inexplicable emotion welled up in his heart.
Just then!
A purple attribute orb dropped from himself:
[Self-Awareness & Emotional Core +8]
Cassius recovered and absorbed it.
Boom!
As if something in his mind suddenly opened up!
All his attributes that had reached Level 3 merged within his body at this moment.
He felt his acting rise to a completely new level.
No longer simple imitation and mobilization, but able to dig deeper into the roots of the character.
As if leaping from a 2D plane to a 3D space.
Every detail became clearer and more controllable, and full of possibilities.
Just as he was immersed in this comprehensive enhanced perception, a subtitle appeared:
[Detected all core acting attributes reached Lv3. Conditions met. Unlocking new feature: Halo Effect (7-Day Trial)]
[Halo Effect: Daily random selection of one of your attributes to form a temporary halo. During the duration of this halo (approx. 24 hours), the effect of this attribute will be significantly amplified, temporarily reaching your current theoretical highest performance level. Random attribute refreshes at 0:00 daily.]
[Today's Random Halo Attribute: Gaze]
[Gaze attribute temporarily boosted, lasts until 24:00 today]
...
Halo Effect?
Cassius was stunned for a moment.
Before he could think carefully, he felt his eyes heat up slightly. A cooling sensation flowed through his eyeballs, then merged into the depths.
Dakota looked at Cassius, seeming to sense some subtle change in him, but couldn't say exactly what.
Right at this moment, Cassius looked up.
Their eyes met.
Cassius's eyes seemed injected with some magic.
Deep as a bottomless cold pool, yet dancing with a glimmer that attracted exploration in the depths.
Gaze shifting, carrying focus and penetration, seeming to easily capture the subtlest tremors of the human heart and involuntarily draw one in.
Dakota trembled all over!
Like being cast with an immobilization spell, her mind went blank.
Cassius's eyes seemed to carry an invisible vortex, sucking all her attention and thoughts in.
Her heartbeat suddenly went out of control, thumping wildly, her cheeks starting to burn uncontrollably.
"You..."
Dakota opened her mouth but couldn't make a complete sound, only feeling her throat a bit dry.
Cassius also noticed Dakota's abnormality.
She stared blankly at him, cheeks crimson, eyes misty, breathing becoming a bit rapid.
Only then did he realize how terrifying the effect of the [Gaze] halo was!
If this were in a fantasy novel, wouldn't looking at someone make them pregnant!
The hallway was quiet, leaving only the sound of their breathing.
Dakota involuntarily stood up and took a small step forward, approaching Cassius.
Her gaze remained locked on his eyes, as if that was the only focal point.
"Cassius..."
She unconsciously whispered his name, her voice carrying a tremor she didn't even notice herself.
Don't know who moved first, the distance shortened to the limit in silence.
Their lips touched.
Dakota's lips were soft and slightly cool. Cassius could feel the slight trembling of her body.
Just as Cassius's hand subconsciously went to hold Dakota's waist.
"Sis! Did you finish drinking water?"
Elle's crisp and slightly impatient shout came from the room down the hall.
Dakota was like a startled bird, shoving Cassius away fiercely, the force so great she stumbled herself.
She glanced at Cassius with complex eyes, then rushed to her sister's room without looking back.
Cassius looked at her fleeing figure, which seemed to still have the soft touch lingering on it.
He smiled wryly helplessly.
"This Halo Effect is too immediate!"
