Indhu's POV
The soft morning sunlight streamed through the classroom windows, warming the desks with a golden glow. But honestly, none of us paid much attention to it.
My mind was still replaying everything that had happened during yesterday's Friday Gossip.
Every time I remembered Aditya's shocked face, I almost laughed again.
I leaned toward him, trying to catch his attention.
"Hey... are you even listening?" I whispered.
He gave a tiny nod without looking at me.
His eyes looked distant, and there was a slight crease between his eyebrows, as if he was thinking about something far away.
He didn't answer.
He didn't tease me back.
He just sat there quietly.
He's still thinking about yesterday... I wondered.
I frowned for a second but decided not to bother him anymore. Instead, I turned toward Shweta and Charlotte, who were already giggling over something written in their notebooks.
---
Just then, Rohan leaned back in his chair with that familiar mischievous smile.
"I've got an idea."
The four of us immediately looked at him.
"Let's do something fun."
He lowered his voice dramatically.
"Secret notes."
"Like little spies."
"Only for V5."
Shweta clapped excitedly.
"Yes!"
"Let's write secret messages."
"But nobody is allowed to peek!"
Charlotte sighed dramatically.
"Fine..."
"But keep it civilized."
I laughed and picked up a small piece of paper.
Without wasting time, I scribbled a quick message and folded it neatly before passing it toward Rohan.
Beside me, Aditya quietly wrote something on his own paper.
He carefully folded it and placed it on the growing pile of notes in the middle of our desks.
Everything was going perfectly...
Until nature decided to join our game.
A sudden gust of wind rushed through the open classroom window.
"Whoa—!"
Before any of us could react...
The papers flew everywhere.
One floated toward the teacher's table.
Another drifted outside.
One landed near a senior from another class.
Another somehow disappeared into Charlotte's school bag.
For one second...
Nobody moved.
Then absolute chaos exploded.
---
The senior picked up the note that had landed near him.
Unfortunately...
It was mine.
He unfolded it and quietly read,
"You always make everyone laugh. Check your bag later."
His face immediately turned bright red.
"Uh..."
"What does this mean?"
He whispered something to his friends.
Within seconds, I could already see people looking at him strangely.
Oh no...
They think it's some kind of confession!
I covered my face, trying not to laugh and panic at the same time.
Nearby, another disaster was unfolding.
Rohan had accidentally opened Shweta's note instead of his own.
He read it aloud.
"Don't forget to smile today... it suits you."
He blinked.
Then blinked again.
"Wait..."
"Is she teasing me?"
The confused expression on his face made everyone around us burst into laughter.
---
Meanwhile...
Something else happened that none of us noticed.
Aditya's folded note somehow ended up inside Charlotte's hands.
She quietly unfolded it.
Her eyes moved across the page.
A tiny smile appeared on her face.
Without saying a single word, she folded it again and slipped it into her bag.
I didn't notice any of it.
Everything around me was already chaotic enough.
---
Shweta, Rohan, and I immediately crawled under the desks, trying to collect the scattered notes before someone else found them.
Papers were everywhere.
Students were laughing.
Someone accidentally stepped on one.
Just as Rohan reached for another note...
He lost his balance.
"Thud!"
He landed on both knees.
I burst into laughter.
"Rohan!"
Shweta laughed so hard she could barely breathe.
"Stop being so dramatic!"
She pulled him back to his feet.
He proudly placed a hand on his chest.
"Impossible."
"I'm an actor."
"This is my drama."
That only made everyone laugh even louder.
---
Through all the chaos...
Aditya stayed unusually calm.
While the rest of us rushed around the classroom, he quietly picked up the scattered papers one by one and folded them neatly.
I found myself glancing at him more than once.
He looked peaceful...
Yet strangely distant.
Why is he so quiet today?
I couldn't figure it out.
Something about him felt different.
---
Just when we finally thought everything was under control...
The classroom door opened.
The Principal walked in.
Instant silence.
She slowly walked toward the teacher's desk.
Then she picked up one of the scattered notes.
Everyone held their breath.
She unfolded it and read aloud,
"V5... the chaos is not over..."
The classroom froze.
Even Rohan stopped moving.
His pen slipped from his hand.
Shweta and Charlotte exchanged nervous glances.
My heart started beating faster.
Half from excitement...
Half from curiosity.
Beside me, Aditya simply closed his notebook and gave the faintest smile.
I couldn't understand what he was thinking.
---
The Principal placed the note back on the desk before continuing with her work.
Only after she left did everyone breathe again.
The wind gently rattled the classroom windows.
A few forgotten papers still moved across the floor.
I leaned toward Shweta and whispered,
"This is going to get even messier..."
She grinned.
"And even funnier."
Rohan folded his arms proudly.
"Bring it on."
"Chaos is our specialty."
I laughed.
Then my eyes drifted toward Aditya once more.
He quietly nodded to himself, staring somewhere far away.
At that moment...
I simply thought he was still embarrassed after yesterday's gossip.
I never imagined there might be something much deeper hidden behind that quiet smile.
