( PH 2 )
wind stopped,not suddenly.
Not like something had been cut off.
It slowed… thinned… and then simply ceased to exist.
For a moment, the corridor no longer felt like a place where movement could happen. The air itself seemed to hesitate, as if even it had become uncertain about what it was supposed to do next. The containment field was still active.
Its structure had not collapsed its purpose had not changed. And yet
something about it no longer felt dominant,
"WHIIIIIIIIIN"
sound continued, but now it was different. It no longer echoed through the corridor alone.it pressed inward.
Deeper, not into the ears but into the mind.Anie stood still completely still.
Her fingers were suspended mid-motion, slightly curled, as if she had forgotten how to complete even the smallest action. Her breathing had slowed to an unnatural rhythm, each inhale shallow, each exhale delayed, like her body was no longer fully in control of itself.
Her eyes were open but she wasn't seeing the corridor.she wasn't seeing the hunters.she wasn't even seeing Eli.
she was somewhere else.
Inside,,,
There was no light there no sound.
No clear form only fragments.
Memories that refused to stay still.
Eli.
That moment replayed again and again. And again the way he moved.
The way he stepped in front of her without hesitation.
The way the attack had been meant for her and yet,he took it.
Why?
The question didn't come once It echoed.Layered over itself breaking apart, reforming, returning again.
Why would he do that?
There was no logic in it no benefit.no calculation.it wasn't strategy It wasn't survival it was a choice.
A choice she didn't understand.
And because she didn't understand it
it stayed.it refused to leave something began to form around that memory.
Not fear,Not exactly,Something warmer.Something heavier.
It spread slowly from the center of her chest, expanding outward, pressing against her ribs, filling the space inside her lungs.
It wasn't painful but it was unbearable.
Because she didn't have a name for it.
Outside..,
"Containment holding at sixty-eight percent."
Hunter's voice cut through the stillness, though it sounded distant, like it had to travel through layers to reach the surface.
"Energy fluctuation detected. Instability increasing."
R-07 didn't move.
He stood exactly where he had been, his posture unchanged, his attention fully locked onto Anie.
"Wait" said calmly.
His hand lifted slightly a small gesture.
but enough. Hunters stopped adjusting their positions.Stopped advancing.
stopped interfering.
"Do not engage yet."
His tone carried no urgency only certainty.
Eli felt it immediately the shift.not in the field not in the hunters.but in her
something was wrong.no something had changed.he took a slow breath.
It felt heavier than it should have.
The containment field pressed against his body, resisting every movement, dulling every reaction. His shoulder still burned from the earlier impact, a deep, lingering pain that hadn't faded even for a moment.
His ribs, ached his muscles were slower. But none of that mattered right now.because Anie wasn't moving.
"Anie…" called her name carefully.
Not loud, not sharp but clear enough to reach.he took a step forward the resistance increased immediately.
Still he moved her fingers twitched.
Just slightly but the reaction it caused
was not small.
The air didn't rush outward like before.
There was no wind,no violent motion.
Insteadthe space itself seemed to hesitate.the light shifted just for a second.the corridor bent not physically
but perceptually.
Like reality itself had been disturbed at a deeper level.
"Visual distortion detected" hunter's voice broke, cutting out mid-sentence.
"Field interference— signal"
Silence not natural silence interrupted silence.Like something had removed pieces of sound from existence.
"This isn't air…" his eyes narrowed.
he muttered under his breath this wasn't the same power. This wasn't just force his was something else.something far more dangerous.
Around Anie, the space began to contract. Not visibly at first but gradually.Subtly the..
The distance between objects felt shorter.the walls seemed closer the air thicker.
It wasn't pulling things violently.
It was drawing everything inward
compressing.
Tightening as if the world itself was being folded toward her.R-07 observed
carefully closely.
"Good…"
he said, almost to himself.
There was something new in his tone now.not just interest recognition.
"Spatial compression…"
Eli's chest tightened.
That wasn't something a person could control.that wasn't something a body could handle.
"Anie!"
This time his voice rose sharper.urgent
but she didn't respond.
Inside the warmth had become heat. heat had become pressure And the pressure was now unbearable.
Eli's image appeared again.Clearer this time closer.not just a memory but a presence. The moment replayed once more.
Him stepping forward taking the hit.
Protecting her the question returned.
But this time it didn't stay a question.
It shifted ,It changed into something deeper.A feeling that reached beyond confusion.Beyond fear something she couldn't reject. And couldn't escape.
Outside,the cracks began.
"CRRK"
A thin line split across the wall then another.then more the concrete didn't explode.it fractured, under pressure.
From all sides.
"Containment failing !"
"Pressure levels exceeding limit!"
Hunters stepped back instinctively.
Not out of fear but because their systems told them to.because something here was no longer within expected parameters.
Eli moved faster now ignoring the resistance.Ignoring the pain because he understood something clearly If he didn't reach her now there wouldn't be anything left to reach.
"Do not interfere."R-07 raised his hand slightly.but Eli didn't stop he couldn't.
He reached her his hand closed around her wrist.and in that exact moment everything stopped.no sound,no movement,no pressure,it wasn't calm.
It was absence.like the world itself had been paused.
Anie's eyes shifted slowly.and for the first time she saw him.not the memory
not the moment.Him,
"Eli…"
Her voice was barely there but it existed.
Eli exhaled a breath he didn't realize he had been holding.
"I'm here."
His voice was steady grounded.
"You're not alone."
For a moment everything aligned.the field stabilized, the air settled, the pressure eased.
Even the Hunters stopped moving completely.even R-07 did not speak.
Then, her eyes changed again the light returned. But deeper, darker more unstable.
"I… can't stop…" she whispered.
"You don't have to fight it alone."Eli tightened his grip.
That sentence reached her deeper than anything else.and then it happened not outward, not explosive, not violent.
Everything collapsed inward.
The pressure dropped suddenly.
Then reversed the force that had been compressing released.
"BOOOOOOOM!"
This time it exploded outward.
A massive shockwave tore through the corridor, ripping through the weakened containment field, shattering its structure completely.
Hunters were thrown back violently.
walls cracked open, fragments scattered in all directions.
The entire corridor shook under the force.
Eli was thrown back his grip finally breaking.his body hitting the ground hard.his vision blurred for a moment.
But he was still conscious still alive.
The dust settled slowly the sound faded. energy dispersed and in the center Anie stood.breathing heavily.
Her chest rising and falling rapidly her eyes still glowing faintly. But different now not lost, not confused.
Changed R-07 watched her.Then
slowly he smiled.
"Now…" he said.
"This is worth capturing."
Anie turned her head toward him. her gaze steady unshaken. there was no fear left in it,none at all.only power.....!!
