He knocked on Valeria's door once.
She opened it immediately, which meant she'd been awake.
Also meaning most likely she'd heard Mira come in and had been lying in the dark processing the implications of a visitor at this hour rather than coming out to ask.
She looked at the three of them, Lucius, Seraphine at the table, Mira with her hands still not quite steady, and then at the page on the table.
She came out and read it without being asked.
She read it once, which was apparently enough. She set it down and looked at Lucius. "They're seven. Judgment Commission at most"
"Yes."
"And we have three days."
"Mira's read of the timeline. She's been accurate in previous sessions."
Valeria looked at Mira briefly.
A flat assessment, taking in the detail of her, the quality of her stillness, her hands.
Whatever she arrived at she kept to herself.
Then she looked back at the page.
