"Now, Naomi had a relative on her husband's side named Boaz, he—" said Jude but I interrupted him, "Wait, hold on a minute… so you're telling me that Boaz could've been Ruth's uncle?" I asked Jude then looked at Thomas who also looked at me. "For real?" I continued while looking at Thomas. "Told you," said Thomas then looked at the glass he's holding and saw that it's now empty. "I'm just gonna go find more wine," said Thomas then stood up and walked away.
I am still flabbergasted."Can I continue now, Maria?" Asked Jude, making me look at him. "Oh. Oh, yeah! Yeah," I replied. "And so Ruth said to Naomi that she'll be picking up leftover grains behind anyone who allows her to and Naomi permits her." Continued Jude and I nodded in response. "And so she did. But it turns out that the field she was working in belongs to Boaz, the relative of Naomi's husband, Elimelek." And that made both my brows raise, "Now that's what you call 'fate'," I said, making Jude chuckle.
"Well, how our cousin Ruth and her husband Boaz met can… let's just say it's somewhat similar to how Ruth and Boaz in the Bible met," said Jude with a smile. "Come on! What's the love story of your cousin Ruth and her husband?" I asked with a grin as I nudged Jude's arm. Jude chuckled, "She works in his company— BUT! But they are not related, not like Ruth and Boaz in the Bible who could've been in-laws," said Jude, "My cousin Ruth and her husband Boaz met when he visited the office where she was working," continued Jude, I nodded in response.
"Have you guys seen Teacher?" Asked John as soon as he sat beside Jude. Matthew, Jude and I looked at John. "Look where the kids are gathering, Teacher is playing with them," answered James as he pulled the chair beside John and tried to sit there. John quickly stood up to help James but he refused, "It's okay, John. I can do it." Said Jamed, making John slowly sit down while looking at him. "What are they doing?" Asked Matthew, making us look at him then look at the direction where he is looking.
And we saw Yeshua folding a napkin while the kids are… are following what He was doing, with their own napkins. "What did I miss?" Asked Thomas as soon as he came back to the table. "Teacher is teaching the kids how to fold a napkin," answered James, who is now sitting beside John, making Thomas look at him and say, "hey,"
"Hey," replied James. "John, are you seeing this?" Asked Thomas as he looked at Jaime and Tabitha dancing on the dance floor. "Yeah. He's drunk that's why he had the courage to ask her to dance," answered John as he crossed his arms and leaned back on the chair.
"How did Ruth and Boaz meet then?" Asked Matthew, making me look at him and smirk. "Oh, you're telling the love story of Ruth and Boaz?" Asked John as he looked at Jude with a smile. "Not our cousin, but Ruth and Boaz in the Bible," answered Jude, John nodded as his smile slowly faded. "And now you lost interest?" I asked John as I raised my eyebrow while looking at him. John quickly uncrossed his arms then leaned closer to Jude, "What? N-no!"
"And then Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters—'the Lord be with you'—and they responded with, 'the Lord bless you' then Boaz noticed Ruth and he asked the overseer of his harvesters who does Ruth belongs to," continued Jude to the story, which made us shut our mouths. "The overseer told Boaz that Ruth was with Naomi when she came back and she is Naomi's daughter-in-law. And so, Boaz spoke to Ruth and said not to go and pick up leftover grains in another field and don't go away from his field. Stay with the women who work for him and follow along after them. And that he already told the men not to lay a hand on her," said Jude, I nodded in response.
"Now that's what you call a man!" Said a woman behind us, making us quickly look behind and see the bride herself closely. "Cous!" Said Jude as he quickly stood up and hugged Ruth. She hugged him back. "Congratulations on your wedding, cous!" Said James while he's still sitting. Ruth and Jude let go of one another and she walked towards James and hugged him. "Thank you, Lil' Jay!" Thanked Ruth with a huge smile.
