Chapter 39 - | Ministry

After the teaching at the port, we retreated to Simon's house to rest and process what just happened earlier. "Then-then we were all so shocked seeing the town's people behind us!" Said Simon to Abigail, his wife. "There were almost half of this town!" Andrew added excitedly. Yeshua is just smiling while listening to them. Then Simon's mother-in-law gave Jude, Matthew, and Thomas juice to drink while I am standing at the kitchen arc and holding a tray full of sandwiches prepared by both Abigail and her mother.

"Maria!" Called the mother of Abigail as she looked at me. I quickly went towards them and gave the boys sandwiches each.

"Thank you Maria," Jude.

"Thanks," Thomas.

"You should eat now, too," Matthew. I smiled at him and replied, "Later. I'll just help them distribute food first."

"What did you talk about at the port, Yeshua?" Asked Abigail's mother as she gave a glass of water because that's what Yeshua asked for. "Oh, thank you," thanked Yeshua as He received the glass of water, "I told them about the two verses from Psalm 18," Yeshua answered then took a sip. "Then someone from the crowd—I think it's Sullivan, the one who always tested my patience back in school. Do you remember him, love?" Asked Simon to Abigail, she just nodded with a smile as a response, "He then corrected Yeshua by saying that Jesus is the one who overcame the world and darkness, not God," continued Simon. "But then Yeshua!" Said John excitedly.

All of us looked at John then, "I-I meant Teacher," corrected John to himself. Yeshua chuckled because of him then said, "Go on," with a smile on His face. John smiled back and continued, "But then Teacher said that God and Hims-Jesus is One. So, whatever Jesus has overcome, God the Father also overcame it and vice versa!" One can definitely trace the excitement in John's voice.

I smiled while I also gave the rest of the boys and Yeshua sandwiches each. "Thank you, Maria," thanked Yeshua as He took the sandwich with a smile. I smiled back, returned to the kitchen and took the last sandwich. I stood at the kitchen arc where I stood earlier and quietly ate my sandwich while watching the boys tell stories to Abigail and her mother about earlier with a smile.

Yeshua then stood up from His seat while carrying both His sandwich and glass of water, walked towards me, and stood by me at the kitchen arc. "What are you thinking?" Whispered Yeshua then took a bite from His sandwich. I looked at Him, chuckled, then as I looked back to the boys in the living room I replied, "as if You don't hear what we're all thinking." Yeshua chuckled too. "Well…" the only word He replied, then took another bite.

Then a question popped up in my mind, "Is this how You want to create Your school?" I asked Yeshua then I looked at Him. Yeshua looked at the boys in the living room and said, "It's not a school that I want to create, Maria. I want to bring back the main purpose of the ministry."
