Chapter 14 - Glimmer of Freedom in the Shadows

In a narrow, decrepit wagon, the clinking of metal chains intertwined with muffled sighs, carried by the cold air between its rough wooden walls.

Amid a group of humans whose vitality had vanished, their eyes empty like blank pages, sat a little girl dressed in tattered clothes, as if she had lost all meaning of life long before reaching this place. The oppression and humiliation these slaves had endured had erased every spark of hope from their hearts, reducing them to mere numbers in a cruel game of greed and inhuman experimentation.

Yet this little girl was far from ordinary. She was the fifth princess of the Elves, the fifth daughter lost for a year. She had been pulled away from the sacred forest when she defied the kingdom's laws, forced to leave her home because of her reckless curiosity and an insatiable desire to explore the world beyond.

Her heart could not endure the forest's borders; she had ventured forth, embarking on a perilous journey. Upon emerging into the city of Bloomod, she marveled at all she saw, enchanted by the novelty, oblivious to the imminent danger… until a caravan of slave traders intercepted her, and she was captured immediately.

Thus began a year-long torment, filled with endless screams and tears.

Meanwhile, in the Colosseum, Leo had finally regained his magic after a decisive battle with the giant, turning the scales dramatically. His fifth-rank spell, unleashed without hesitation, left the audience stunned, silent, unable to speak.

They had never witnessed magic of such potency before—fifth-rank magic, reserved for the capital and noble households. Most of the mages they had seen, at best, were fourth-rank, employed in mercenary squads.

Once he regained his power, Leo wasted no time. He broke the shackles that had bound him since entering the Colosseum and set his sights on the tyrannical administrators who had toyed with innocent lives.

As the guards attempted to stop him, he ignored them entirely. Using his telekinetic magic without incantations or preparation, he hurled them against the walls, one by one. His strength multiplied exponentially; his telekinesis grew threefold, and all his attacks became deadlier and more devastating.

Leo approached the massive iron door of the administration building. Inside, the officials trembled, searching in vain for an escape from his wrath. They had believed the Volumid-reinforced iron door would withstand even a fifth-rank mage's assault.

Yet Leo paid no heed to their assumptions. He unleashed a concentrated spell—molten, overwhelming fire, a lost incantation called The Fusion. The volcanic magma melted through the iron effortlessly, exposing a power that exceeded all his usual limits.

The administrators trembled, falling to their knees and pleading for mercy, but Leo allowed no space for forgiveness. A crimson aura, thick with anger, radiated from him, choking the air around the chamber.

His voice, deep and commanding, echoed:

"You have made the lives of others a game for your amusement, driven by your insatiable greed… and now you beg for mercy? Did you show mercy to those who pleaded for their lives? You do not deserve life, nor even the chance at reincarnation."

With a fifth-rank spell beyond his usual strength, he cast a forbidden incantation that burned their souls, a power that would prevent reincarnation forever.

The administrators disappeared in indescribable agony, lying motionless, their screams fading, while Leo's heart weighed heavily from wielding such magic. He wiped his bloodied hands, aware of the backlash from using power beyond his limits.

Turning to the dungeons, Leo set about liberating the imprisoned slaves. Their eyes, for the first time in years of captivity and suffering, glimmered with hope.

He freed them all, leading them into the sunlight for the first time in years, their hearts gradually returning to their natural rhythm.

In a shadowed corner of the dungeon, Leo noticed a small girl, wearing tattered clothing, her eyes lifeless like the others—but with something in them that set her apart, something that still pulsed with life.

As he approached, the truth dawned on him: she was no ordinary captive. She was one of the Elves. He wondered why she had vanished from her kingdom.

Leo felt, deep within, that their fates were now intertwined. Their journey ahead would not be merely a struggle for survival, but the beginning of a new path, fraught with danger, discovery, and the chance for those who had earned their freedom to live anew.
