Chapter 129 - Chapter 129

Summer.

Dusk.

Inside the Millennium Castle, Akatsuki sat up from the bed. The Crimson Moon had already vanished, replaced by the setting sun about to dip below the horizon, and lying beside her was the Princess of the True Ancestors.

"So beautiful, it's just like looking in a mirror."

As the setting sun shone into the ancient castle that had remained unchanged for a millennium, Akatsuki seemed drawn in, gradually leaning toward the girl beside her.

"OK, then let me shatter the mirror."

"Arcueid's" hand directly seized Akatsuki's neck. Akatsuki's expression shifted as she looked at the "Arcueid" before her as if facing a formidable enemy, asking, "You... are you Crimson Moon?!"

"Of course. Besides me, who else could be worthy of that Crimson Moon... Hmm? No red moon? That shouldn't be right."

Mid-sentence, Crimson Moon's expression changed. He realized his connection to the moon had weakened, even though he was supposed to be the Moon's UO—and there could only be one UO per planet, that much was certain!

"It's you! You actually usurped my authority. Interesting!"

Akatsuki guiltily averted her eyes. Her act of "stealing the home" had been discovered, and by the original owner no less; this was going to be troublesome.

"Impressive. I thought you were just a pervert who liked building harems, but I didn't expect you to actually accomplish something. So, did you get the Moon Cell?"

Akatsuki was stunned. "You're not the type to care about the world. Why are you seeking the Moon's Holy Grail now?"

"Hmph, isn't it obvious? Turning the Earth into a paradise for True Ancestors and raising humans like livestock—that kind of future sounds very interesting."

"What are you planning?"

Crimson Moon's goal could never be that simple. That former King of True Ancestors, the Moon's UO, unreasonable and willful as he was—Akatsuki wouldn't believe he'd consider his species' welfare even if she were beaten to death.

"Hehehe, guess."

With that, Crimson Moon closed his eyes and withdrew from Arcueid's body. After all, the body of a True Ancestor's progeny was far from worthy of the former King of the Moon's status.

"Interesting. Since you mentioned the Moon Cell, it means both you and the counter force have sensed the world's future. Interesting."

In the world of TYPE-MOON, most futures for humanity are Bad Ends; so far, no Good End has appeared. Aside from the end of the world Akatsuki was created in—the Land of Steel, where humans evolved into Liners in an environment of True Ether and began an endless civil war—there are also three well-known endings: Tsuki no Sango, Servant Universe, and CCC.

Tsuki no Sango: Humanity loses the desire to procreate, and newborn babies end their lives after just a single breath of air. Bad End.

Servant Universe: Humanity loses even the concept of being human. Bad End.

Land of Steel: Can humans who have evolved into Liners still be considered human? Bad End.

CCC: Humanity's journey is the sea of stars. What becomes of an ending where they abandon Mother Earth? No one knows. Uncertain.

"Akatsuki?" Arcueid woke up while Akatsuki was lost in thought. "Does you being here mean that fellow lost?"

"That's right. Crimson Moon lost to his own pride as the former King of the Moon and has given up on your body. By the way, is there nothing you want to say to me?"

Seeing Arcueid's half-asleep expression, Akatsuki reached out and grabbed her head, asking with a smile.

"Eh?"

"Hmm?"

"Uh... I'm sorry."

"When you encounter something you can't handle even with effort, you should ask for help. You are no longer the True Ancestors' Executioner; you belong to me now."

"Uu..."

Arcueid puffed out her cheeks and looked at Akatsuki resentfully. "But at first, I felt like I had a chance. Besides, with the weapon you gave me, I didn't think I'd lose to him in terms of mental strength."

"That's just your delusion. No matter what, that is the origin of the True Ancestors, the symbol of absolute power. Although he was once accidentally taken down by the Jewel Owner, that was only because of carelessness."

"But it's not bad that you managed to hold on." Akatsuki released Arcueid's head and gently patted her hair. "Next, we need to make some preparations. Since Crimson Moon has his sights on the Moon Cell, he will definitely take action."

Moon Cell: Automaton, the Moon Cell. An energy accumulation body within the moon.

A photonic crystal three thousand kilometers in diameter, a moon-sized supercomputer that records all of the past, predicts all of the future, and possesses a calculation scale rivaling that of a solar system—an omnipotent computer.

If she could obtain it, she might truly become the absolute powerhouse of this world, an existence capable of ruling everything.

"However, for now, the world line is still in Fate/kaleid liner. This world's technology hasn't reached the stage of interstellar travel yet, and the Moon Cell hasn't been discovered by the public. Let's find a way to go to the moon. As long as we get the Moon's Holy Grail, we can prevent this world from sliding into one of those Bad Ends."

Arcueid nodded, only half-understanding. "But how do we get to the moon? We don't have that kind of technology." After a moment of thought, Akatsuki said, "There will be a way. But tonight there's a good show. Princess, would you like to come watch it with me?"

"Watch a show?"

"Miss Saber?"

Tohsaka Rin looked doubtfully at Saber, who was sitting on a bench. Tonight, they were here to retrieve Caster's class card. Just as Akatsuki had said, this was their business.

"Rin, Akatsuki told me to come help you."

"Eh?"

Just as Tohsaka Rin was about to refuse, she stared at Saber in stunned silence—the armor gleaming with a metallic luster under the moonlight and the golden longsword.

"This is..."

"Useless to talk more. Let's get started!"

Restored to a state of abundant magical energy after ten years, Saber's fighting spirit was high. Feeling the overflowing mana within her, she excitedly brandished her sword.

"Wait, wait! Illya and the others aren't here yet!"

Just as Tohsaka Rin spoke, a youthful yet energetic voice called out, "Miss Rin, we're here!"

At that moment, Illya and Miyu arrived.

Saber saw Illya and gave a slight nod.

"Miss Saber? Why is Miss Saber here, and why is she wearing armor and holding a sword?"

"Tohsaka Rin, what's going on? Why is an uninvolved person here?"

Luvia frowned and pointed at Saber.
