Chapter 12 - He is sick! (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Jujutsu Kaisen.

In the terms summary, this world was all about the story of how people with supernatural abilities, such as seeing ghosts, which were called sorcerers, tried to defeat the ghosts and all the villains, with a mix of politics in the story.

Yup, the politics.

In a certain sense, this world was much like the world of Naruto: the lower ranks were nothing more than tools to be discarded when they broke.

Similar to a ninja, right?

Yet, frankly, working as a normal person in society was also the same, since the employees could be discarded by the boss, too, when they were broken.

In other words, life is shitty.

Still, his life could be called a little lucky since, unlike Suzuki from Naruto, or we should call him, Ninja, he was born into a powerful clan, but at the same time, unfortunately, he was born in the Zenin Clan, which was fated to be massacred by Maki Zenin in the original story.

Regardless, Suzuki felt that his life in the clan was okay—why?

It was because, unlike Maki and Mai, who were born as twins, which made them weak, and labeled as a failure by the family, turning their ends nothing but women who would be wed to others for the political purpose of the family, Suzuki was born talented, as he was born with the innate ability of the Zenin Clan—Projection Sorcery.

Yes, it was the 24 fps that was quite strange for people unfamiliar with the terms, yet unique and interesting for those who were familiar.

Still, for him, who had the modern world and was also smart enough, as he used logic instead of feelings and instincts, he quickly mastered all the techniques developed by his father.

In other words, he was one of the family's elite.

Yet it was inevitable, especially when everyone followed the tradition, and there was a manual easy to learn; as long as everyone followed it, logically, they should grow stronger.

If they couldn't, then it proved they were just... sorry, not smart enough.

Still, whether it was his father or his brother, though strong by normal standards, they were weak compared to the others. Yes, they were fast, but being fast wasn't enough, as the two of them died, and all the other members of the clans were decimated by Maki, who was in a rage after her twin sister died.

Fortunately, Suzuki had never mistreated the twins, or rather, he just treated them normally, like how he treated others, which made Mai, who was stuck in Kyoto, often come to him, as she had no safe place anywhere, especially when Maki had decided to go to Tokyo to start her rebellion.

Yup, in the eyes of many, Maki's act was nothing but the naughty behavior of a girl in puberty, since no matter how far she went, in the end, she would return to the Zenin Clan as nothing more than a political tool.

Yet, what they didn't know was that Maki would return to kill everyone, which made him sigh.

Somehow, Suzuki felt he could stay alive, since he believed Maki wouldn't kill him, but then again, he wouldn't let Mai be killed, so Maki would be awakened and destroy the Zenin Clan.

Instead, Suzuki had been thinking about how to grow stronger in his own way, knowing it was impossible to do so by following his father's and older brother's path.

Both his father and older brother had been thinking of becoming fast, so fast that they were untouchable, but in the end, they were just running, moving in a linear trajectory, which was practically meaningless, as the faster they were, the stronger the resistance was, and with their bodies, which were just slightly stronger than a trained human, this wouldn't make them into the strongest, and in front of the truly strong such as Gojo Satoru, Ryomen Sukuna, and even Maki, who had just awakened her Heavenly Restriction physical ability, being fast wouldn't mean anything.

In their eyes, being fast meant that they were nothing but a harder-to-kill cockroach; it was a little harder to kill, but when they were serious, all the struggles were meaningless.

Suzuki didn't want to have such a tragic end, and while he wanted to escape, such as going to a foreign country, it was just strange of him to leave Mai and Maki, who somehow relied on him when they grew up, as he was the one who was the most normal among everyone in the Zenin Clan, who was practically screaming about hierachy, tradition, and all other obselete things that should disappear from this era.

Still, if he followed how the original story was, like how Naoya became a curse spirit, becoming so fast that he reached the mach speed, it was just nothing... but just fast.

Yet, Suzuki felt that it wasn't enough, since being fast wasn't enough, and he had to understand more about this technique, its effect on the physical world, and anything related, which made him enter the Department of Physics (Faculty of Science) of Kyoto University after his graduation from the Kyoto Metropolitan Curses Technical College.

When everyone became a sujutsu sorcerer, making money by hunting down the cursed spirits, he entered one of the most prestigious universities in this country to learn physics.

Naturally, when everyone learned what he planned to do, they disdained him, mocking him, and even said many bad things before they stopped after he beat all of them to pulp.

Yup, the strong aside, as they didn't have enough power to suppress him, for the weak to humiliate him, Suzuki wasn't so kind-hearted that he would lead them to go, especially when the world of sorcerers had always followed the rules of the jungle, the strong prey upon the weak, so why should he endure when he could beat all of them, right?

Still, frankly, while he was strong, it didn't mean that he was the strongest, and he also didn't think that with his power, it was enough to defeat all the members of the Zenin Clan, including his older brother, Naoya, and his father, Naobito.

Or rather, Naoya aside, who mocked him, like he mocked others as usual, Naobito, his father, laughed, and even wanted to sponsor him, so he could graduate from the university.

After all, no matter how strange it was for a Zenin Clan member to wish to learn physics at the University of Kyoto, it was an amazing fact that he could be accepted and did well at this university, and as a parent, like any other, Naobito was a little proud that Suzuki could pass the entrance exam despite how busy he was with his job as a jujutsu sorcerer and learning at the Kyoto Metropolitan Technical College.

Yup, before Suzuki even graduated, he was already forced to hunt down the cursed spirits, even though there was a chance of him dying in the gutters.

Yes, this was wrong, especially when Suzuki was practically a minor, but like in the world of Naruto, where a 12-year-old kid was forced to fight against dangerous criminals to make money, in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, it wasn't much different, but the enemy was cursed spirits, which were practically monsters.

Yet, he wasn't so childish that he wouldn't accept his father's money and he was also shameless enough to use all of his family's influence, so he could learn all the knowledge of physics and even mathematics, and when he combined with the AI-like ability from the Manager, which he had just received, he could download all of the knowledge and upload them into his brain, and also developed the technique that he had been dreaming of since he was a kid as he was given the innate ability of the Projection Sorcery.

Bzzt! Bzzt! Bzzt!

Like a glitch in the matrix, all of a sudden, he moved from one spot to another as if he had teleported—no, it was as if he had skipped time.

And, when he finished testing his new ability, Mai came, and because of that, Suzuki smiled and said, "Let's go."

"Are you going to treat me to something?" Mai asked.

"Yup." Suzuki nodded. "I will treat you to a feast later."

"Why? Are you in a fever?" Mai asked with doubt, as she even tried to put her palm on Suzuki's forehead. "You are not hot? Did you get crazy after learning physics and mathematics?"

"...no."

Suzuki took a deep breath and said, "It's time for me to take the throne of the Zenin Family."

"....."

"...yup, you are sick."

Mai said without a doubt.
