When dawn broke the next morning, Kai blearily opened his eyes, his mind a pleasant, tired haze.
He had lost count of the exact number of times they had lost themselves in each other, only that there was now a deep ache in almost every part of his body and a heavy weight currently lying across his chest.
Kai looked down, his breath catching in his throat at the near divine sight of soft black curls and Rami's sleeping face resting against him, his left arm wrapped tightly around his waist, his warm breath ghosting over Kai's skin.
He raised his hand and carefully lifted one of his curls away from his closed eyes, cautious not to wake him.
'Thank the Gods he's asleep.'
With Rami needing less sleep than he did, Kai didn't often have opportunities to witness such a sight.
