Rameses POV
He had unpicked the bracelet again. That made it twice today.
Rameses sighed affectionately and let his head tip back against the wall.
This was stupid really. He was being ridiculous, he thought. He should just wake him up and tell him everything.
He should wake him up and tell him the whole story. Every tiny horrid detail with no omissions.
Rameses wasn't ashamed of it anyway, he wasn't even sure what that was meant to feel like.
He only knew he was afraid that Kai, Ely and even Aida might flinch away from him, or worse - force him to leave.
But if he and Kai were truly bound by fate, by that thick, inescapable, red thread, then what did it even matter?
Kai would forgive him no matter what.
From his periphery, he caught Kai shivering under the blankets he had managed to twist his body almost entirely out of.
After only a moment's hesitation, Rameses crawled closer.
