A few months later, everyone played together just fine. Tony and Damian fought together a few times, but Tony lost each and every time. Tony wanted to test how strong he was, but to Damian, he was treated like the child he was.
Tony was stronger than any of the other kids in the orphanage except Damian.
Few kids were left in the orphanage, and everyone treated each other just fine.
Damian ran to the nearby graveyard and saw a few ghosts. He was able to touch and hear them. Damian understood he could see ghosts because he too had died before.
Damian thought about something: when he first died in the cremator. His soul was planning to depart but was stuck in the cremator. He saw each spirit leave, but he couldn't, and he didn't know why. At first, he thought it was something that had reincarnated him, but he changed his mind and thought it was his power.
Damian let go of the thought.
There was a time when David hurt himself, and his blood returned near him but not into his body.
[A/N: There were two characters named David: one with the DNA ability and one with the transmutation ability who just died. It was purely a coincidence. I named them without realizing they had the same name.]
Damian wondered why his blood returned to him but figured that it was because his blood is his DNA, and his ability is knowing DNA.
Damian didn't think much of it.
He started going to the library to study when he had a chance. He was getting bored once in a while after playing with everyone.
After a few months, they brought teachers to teach everyone in the orphanage. Everyone asked why they couldn't go to school, and they said there wasn't a school for people with abilities besides Godolkin.
Everyone started learning. While everyone was being taught, Damian was studying in the library.
More workers were hired at Red River. A therapist was introduced to Red River to help kids with their problems, and there was a scientist who was introduced.
Every time everyone came back from talking to the therapist, they came back different. Damian couldn't put it into words, but he noticed they started acting differently.
It was his turn to have a meeting with the therapist.
Damian walked in, greeted the therapist, and sat down. The therapist, a woman, started asking Damian simple questions, and he answered each question with ease. Damian decided to look at the woman and noticed she was a superhuman.
Damian didn't know what her ability was, but everything started making sense as to why everyone came back different after talking to her. Damian didn't understand why he felt nothing towards her.
Damian suddenly thought about something. When he killed all those soldiers, he felt nothing while killing them. At that time, he thought he had gotten over death by experiencing it over and over.
Now, thinking back, that wasn't right. After that many deaths, Damian should've been consumed by madness or anger after rebirth, but he felt none of those.
Damian came to the conclusion that somehow his mind filtered corrupt thoughts or intrusive thoughts.
A few months after the therapist had been there, the personalities of everyone had changed or become corrupted. Tony became unstable and was always angry, same as David.
Melissa began to hate Damian, and Gloria felt disgusted towards him. Everyone stopped hanging around Damian altogether, and Damian realised he was all alone now.
Damian hit the therapist with his blast, thinking it would revert everything back, but nothing happened, and they didn't change. Damian started to hear their thoughts and noticed that their personalities didn't match their thoughts. It was like a tsundere.
Damian tried to rewrite their minds and realised he could only read surface thoughts but not their actual inner thoughts. It was because of his Bio-Vision, super hearing, and clairaudience.
That ability came from his ability to see (Clairvoyance), hear (Clairaudience), interact with (Claircognizance), and touch (Clairsentience) ghosts or spirits. Those psychic abilities made him a telepath, but he could read only surface-level thoughts.
Damian blasted Melissa with his blast, and Melissa looked lost for a second before realising what had happened to her. It looked like their personalities had changed, but they knew and remembered everything.
Damian was glad it worked. Damian wanted to help everyone, but going around at super speed trying to help everyone would take a lot of time because Damian was lazy. His blast formed without super speed, so every time he used super speed to go to the next person, he had to wait 5 seconds for the blast to form, which would take a long time.
Damian made his blast in his right hand and ran towards the edge or corner of the orphanage. He used all his strength to clap his hands like Hulk while his blast was in his hands.
The energy from the clap spread throughout the orphanage, and everyone started to revert back. They became angry at the therapist and wanted to attack her.
Before they could attack her, a high frequency was blasted through the speakers at the orphanage, and everyone screamed in pain, including Damian.
This was a frequency that was dangerous to superhumans but safe for humans. It's like a dog whistle.
Everyone was locked up afterwards and put to sleep except Damian because sleeping gas, or any gas, had no effect on him at the level they released it. All Damian had to do was fake being asleep, and he did.
The security guards came rushing in after everyone fell asleep and sent them to their rooms.
The scientist who came with the therapist told the security guards to bring Damian into the lab.
Damian watched himself being taken to the lab, and that was the beginning of new experiments on Damian.
