There is a planet and there are stars. A black emptiness that is overthroned by a pure light, itself being corrupted in real time. But if you could stand there you could see it, the dark purple shadows being rejected left and right like hands holding the Paradise.
Above all we know lays Heaven. Immense, infinite, almost obsolete considering the system that Efalis put in place to remain untouchable, unequivocally superior to any and all beings, even personal assistant angels. Those creatures, as he calls them, usually betray the humans they are associated with, condemning both of them. The angel can't go back to Heaven and neither will the dead human that follows the Way of Purgatory.
Those who die in hatred are reborn in hatred. Those who die in joy are reborn in Heaven.
Geulsang Zhao now has a clear image of what to expect of this world, and relays informations externally to Kenza, noting one day in one of his intel that he wants Ismael to be happy and satisfied with his life, but he couldn't see him anymore. "I found my own happiness, Ismael. The water flows, as time does, and I have to find my way. I'll help Kenza whenever I can, but don't put your hopes up too high, I'm still Geulsang Zhao."
Ambroise Ler, after seven days of interrogation and training, accepted to be part of the organization under the daytime unit. He was protecting the Servants of Yael with Grant who kept an eye on him at all times.
Everything went fine for over a week until the external agents and extra border agents noticed and reported the strangest things. Of course by now, the creatures used by Ambroise Ler were being killed off easily left and right. So the threat came from somewhere else, something the agents described as "otherwordly" and extremely dangerous.
They describe a five feet nine tall woman going around, and whenever agents, civilians or explorers had an encounter with her, they would fall and bleed, or kneel and worship. All agents regardless of their unit were sent to one area in two parts, the grass field surrounding the ITS and the station itself.
Nero and Ambroise Ler went into the station, searching for anomalies. Grant and Karin were on the outside, assigned with the same job. The first three hours were spent looking and seeing nothing out of the ordinary. So Nero and Ambroise Ler stood on some stairs, taking a break.
"Funny enough, just some time ago you were still trying to kill me, and now we're here running around like children."
"Yeah funny enough, I couldn't kill you right now if I tried. I see where you're coming from with that, don't worry. At least this place is peaceful."
"I think so too. Nighttime unit is the best. I wonder how team two is doing."
"I'm sure they're fine."
"You look better. Like, in better shape."
"In death I have time to sleep, even if it is always cut short."
"I feel you. Back then I was still trying to find a place to stay. An abandonned house or factory, the basement of a complex, a forest or church. I tried a little bit of everything and now the bed I have at Kenza is insane. I'm telling you. I owe Awane my entire life and death."
"And why am I starving?"
"Just like I was. What you need is the word of God, that and a lot of food. Otherwise you'll be on the floor, barely breathing. Almost happened to me."
"I know I might be asking a lot of questions, but-"
"You're learning. Just like I was. I had questions, I had doubts, I was afraid."
"You? Afraid?"
"Terrified. I mean you're followed by a tall angel telling you weird spiritual shit you don't understand and your heart doesn't beat. Plus you're younger than me by a couple years, so it's okay for you to be scared. I believe you could say we were not rivals so much but rather enemies due to circumstances."
"Thank you, Ismael."
"Don't worry about it."
"Kashmir. Kashmir is feeling something!"
"My eyes, they see it. Whatever it is, it's forming. A black aura in smoke. It's right upstairs."
They quickly went by the stairs on the right as the smoke was already giving form to Capucine, naked with grey eyes, very long blond hair and enormous black wings, akin to those of a giant moth. Everytime she would make them flap, they both had a physical reaction to stand back.
"Two slaves for the price of one."
"Unit one to unit two, Capucine is in the station. I repeat, Capucine is in the station, come right now."
"Unit two here, we've found more like her. Not black angels exactly, but of a higher rank in the hierarchy of Paradise. There's two of them here."
"More??"
"Ambroise, stand your ground, stay focused!"
"Ismael. You've changed, you're...manlier. Stronger, taller and probably smarter too. You know, if you want to, I can take you somewhere and we can fuck."
"Capucine. This bullet is for Gloria, Raven and Lilifa."
Ismael shoots a bullet in her head, waiting for whatever horror she was going to pull, and surely so, she pulled out the bullet out of her forehead and rising her right hand, fingers semi-closed towards Ambroise, she sent him flying to the shops' glassed walls. The shock was instant, Ismael only saw him disappear.
"Now you."
Capucine gets closer to him, and knowing full well that bullets couldn't hurt her, he went for a different approach, taking his gloves off.
"By Yael, leave this place and come back no more!"
Ismael screamed this sentence, touching her chest with his left hand, the one he had a physical contact with the entity twice, pushing her away.
Capucine had a mark developping on her sternum, a black "Y" stylized and in italics. A pain like no other dragged her to the ground, as she was vomitting blood and screaming. The echo awoke Ambroise Ler, also bleeding.
Ismael spit on his knife, kicked her to take her hand away from the pain area and stabbed her chest as hard as he could. Even the hilt of the blade went through.
"You ascended so high, a little push was more than enough to make you fall right back to reality. Now let's see if Efalis has loyalty or if he sees you as a tool. That's one to one."
