Chapter 19 - Heaven’s Rejection

"Congratulations, Host. You have received a Sutra Fusion Card."

"...Fusion card?"

Blake blinked, momentarily thrown off by the system's prompt. He pulled up the reward panel, his confusion deepening as he read the description.

Sutra Fusion Card: Allows the Host to select one primary sutra and fuse multiple secondary sutras into it. Only the most essential and compatible aspects of the secondary sutras will be preserved and integrated.

(Resulting sutra retains the base grade depending upon the total amount of sutras used)

"…Is this for real?"

Blake's mouth fell open, forming a silent 'O', before his expression twisted into barely restrained excitement.

"Haha… this is perfect. Literally perfect."

He exhaled slowly, forcing himself to calm down.

Ever since acquiring multiple high-tier sutras from Ivan and Slake, Blake had deliberately refrained from cultivating them.

The reason was simple—too many sutras placed an unbearable burden on the soul. Even with his composure and mental fortitude, continuing down that path would only cripple his long-term growth.

This fusion card solved everything.

"One sutra… instead of many," Blake murmured. "Refined. Optimized."

His gaze sharpened.

"System," he said, "if I choose a lower-rank sutra as the primary one and fuse higher-rank sutras into it… what happens?"

The system responded instantly.

"The primary sutra will evolve, but it cannot reach the rank of the secondary sutra. The resulting version is formed through compatibility filtering. For example, if a 3rd Rank Early Grade sutra is used as the primary and a 4th Rank Early Grade sutra as the secondary, the result will not exceed 3rd Rank Mid Grade."

A brief pause.

"Adding more secondary sutras increases the probability of higher-quality evolution."

Blake's eyes widened.

"…So I can add all of them?"

"Yes."

"Hah."

Blake clenched his fist, a sharp grin spreading across his face.

"Then let's begin."

A bronze card materialized in his hand. It was unremarkable—no runes, no aura, no fluctuations—just a plain card coated in dull bronze. He flipped it back and forth, inspecting it repeatedly.

"…That's it?"

As if responding to his thoughts, the card suddenly crumbled into fine dust and vanished.

A translucent panel appeared before him.

Choose Primary Sutra

Choose Secondary Sutras

Blake didn't hesitate.

The name surfaced in his mind instantly.

Dark Infernal Dragon Sutra.

A 3rd Rank Peak Grade sutra.

He chose it not merely for its raw destructive power, but for its nature. The Dark Infernal Dragon Sutra tempered soul and body simultaneously—a rare, all-encompassing path. It was vast, domineering, and endlessly adaptive.

A foundation that could devour other paths without losing itself.

One by one, Blake fed every other sutra he possessed into the secondary slot.

Silent Sutra — 5th Rank Early Grade (100% mastery) Fire Sutra — 1st Rank Mid Grade (100% mastery) Water Sutra — 1st Rank Mid Grade (100% mastery) Berserker Sutra — 3rd Rank Early Grade Fire King Sutra — 4th Rank Peak Grade Flaming Leopard Sutra — 2nd Rank High Grade Fierce Mountain Gorilla Sutra — 4th Rank High Grade Blazing Fire Knight Sutra — 3rd Rank High Grade Blue Inferno Sutra Crimson Volcanic Sutra — 2nd Rank Peak Grade Fire Serpent Sutra — 2nd Rank Early Grade White Flaming Lotus Sutra — 3rd Rank Early Grade

The panel flashed.

Would you like to merge?

Blake scoffed.

Is there even a need to ask?

"Yes."

The moment his decision was finalized—

——BOOM.

High above the Rodrick family estate, the sky cracked.

Dark clouds surged into existence without warning, swallowing the stars and moon alike. They didn't swirl like ordinary storm clouds—they pressed downward, heavy and oppressive, spreading outward at an impossible speed.

In mere moments, the phenomenon crossed borders.

The Rodrick territory.

Then the empire.

Then beyond.

Golden Den Empire. Resu Empire.

The Tess Family. The Stargazer Family. The Simon Family.

Even the Forest of Demons trembled beneath the expanding heavens.

It was night. Most mortals slept through it.

But those who didn't—

Every mage and warrior above the 2nd Rank—froze in place.

Cold sweat soaked their backs as a pressure unlike anything they had ever felt crushed down upon their souls.

In the royal palace, The figure with different eyes—one blue, one purple—shot to his feet.

His breath hitched as crimson lightning tore through the clouds.

"Th-This…"

His pupils shrank.

"These aren't tribulation clouds."

Another red bolt descended.

"No cultivator… not even a Sixth Rank… could summon something like this."

His voice trembled.

"Red thunder…"

A forbidden memory surfaced.

According to ancient legends, Red Thunder only appeared when something was born that the world itself rejected.

"…Something that shouldn't exist."

Across empires, ancient sects stirred. Sealed caves opened. Slumbering monsters awakened. Even within demon territory, countless eyes opened in dread.

None of them knew the cause.

None of them imagined the truth.

—That a single young man who was calmly seated in meditation was the reason for all their distress.

Blake had no idea.

He didn't feel the terror.

He didn't hear the heavens screaming—because the system had severed him from the world's rejection.

Thirty minutes passed.

Then—

Fusion Complete.

The panel flickered.

What appeared before him made Blake's breath catch.

"…What in the world…?"
