Strangely enough—
After a long dry spell with no bites—
Aurora suddenly seemed blessed by Lady Luck.
One fish after another.
Even though they were all small—
The sheer frequency was ridiculous.
Soon, a crowd gathered around them.
"This girl is definitely a beginner!"
"This makes no sense—same rod, same bait, why is she catching nonstop?!"
"She's gotta be cheating… this looks fake!"
The onlookers were stunned.
Fish after fish—
No pause at all.
Even nearby competitors started inching closer.
This spot?
It was basically a fishing hotspot.
Switching Spots
As the commotion grew, someone squeezed through the crowd.
"Miss, can we switch places? I'm over there—closer to the deep sea."
Aurora, still enjoying herself, looked at Ethan.
He shrugged.
"Sure. We'll switch."
They were just here for fun anyway.
After moving to the new spot—
The nonstop bites finally stopped.
Ethan flexed his arm slightly.
If not for his enhanced physique—
His arm would've given out already.
"We're Just Resting"
A kind bystander spoke up.
"You two shouldn't have switched. That spot was amazing—you lost out."
Ethan smiled casually.
"We're just here to relax. Catching that many fish gets tiring."
The nearby competitors nearly broke their teeth from grinding.
Is that even something a human would say?!
A Big One!
Just as Ethan sat down—
Aurora's rod shook violently.
"I got another one!"
This time—
The pull was much stronger.
Before they could switch rods—
The fish surged forward.
Aurora almost got dragged into the water.
Ethan reacted instantly—
Grabbing her and taking over the rod.
"Whoa—this one's big!"
He lifted the rod.
It bent into a full arc.
The fishing line whistled under tension.
The Struggle
"Come on!"
Ethan tightened his grip.
Muscles tensed, veins bulging.
Even his clothes stretched slightly.
The surrounding competitors stared in disbelief.
These two… are not normal.
A nearby participant quietly put down his own rod—
And picked up a net to help.
"This kind of fish needs a net!"
Others gathered.
"Let me try!"
"I've been training for this moment!"
"I've been working out for 20 years just to reel in a big one!"
Everyone wanted a turn.
But Ethan refused.
"I've got it."
The Reveal
As the line shortened—
The shadow beneath the water became clearer.
"That's at least 10 pounds!"
"Are you blind? That's 20!"
"Wait… something's off…"
Someone noticed the color.
This wasn't a normal fish.
The Final Pull
"Make space—I'm pulling it up!"
Ethan stepped back.
Then—
With full force—
"Come out!"
The moment the fish broke the surface—
The tension suddenly vanished.
Ethan lost balance—
And fell flat on the ground.
Meanwhile—
The fish flew through the air.
Straight over his head.
Then—
BAM!
The Truth
Everyone froze.
Ethan stood up—
And turned around.
Then inhaled sharply.
The fish had slammed directly into a man behind him.
As long as I dodge… someone else suffers.
And that fish—
Was none other than a Magikarp.
The weakest Pokémon in the world.
With only a handful of useless moves.
And completely helpless on land.
It had used Tackle—
Originally aimed at Ethan.
But since he fell—
The unlucky target became someone else.
Aftermath
Ethan walked over, picking up the flopping Magikarp.
Still struggling in his arms.
"Didn't you say you've been training for 20 years?" Ethan grinned.
"Can't even handle one Magikarp hit?"
The man coughed awkwardly.
"Accident! I wasn't ready!"
Laughter broke out.
The Result
They weighed the fish.
33 pounds.
The largest catch in the competition so far.
"Alright—back you go."
Ethan tossed it back into the sea.
Though honestly—
If it attacked again next time, he might not be so kind.
Exhaustion
Catching that Magikarp—
Had drained him completely.
Now—
Aside from a bit of excitement—
He had no strength left.
