Chapter 180 - Capture Attempt – Failure Again

"Forget it. Let's try catching it first."

Ethan took out a Poké Ball and threw it.

The ball hit Claydol—

And bounced right off.

No reaction at all.

"Looks like a special Poké Ball is needed…"

He sighed.

"Guess I'll have to get a Heavy Ball later."

Turning to Mewtwo, he said:

"Carry it. We're taking it with us."

Unlike standard Poké Balls, Heavy Balls were specifically designed for massive Pokémon.

Though in modern times, they were rarely used—

After all, truly giant Pokémon were extremely uncommon.

Unlike in ancient times…

Where massive species were far more frequent.

Returning to the City

Mewtwo lifted Claydol using psychic power.

Ethan rode on Noivern, while Metagross was recalled to rest after the intense battle.

Soon, they regrouped with Aurora—

Who had already regained consciousness.

"We're… taking this thing with us?" she asked, still looking a bit pale.

"Yeah," Ethan nodded. "We'll try to capture it. If that fails… we'll have to seal it again."

There was a third option—

Throwing it into some kind of alternate dimension.

But that was far harder than sealing or capturing.

So it wasn't even worth considering.

"That thing is way too violent," Aurora muttered. "It didn't hold back at all."

Ethan shook his head.

"That was probably a move—something like Strange Wave or Eerie Pulse."

"The buzzing sound we heard was part of it."

"It's just… because of its size, the effect was amplified."

Even a support-type move—

Had enough power to knock out a human.

That alone showed how abnormal this Pokémon was.

Arrival at Hae'er City

They didn't waste any time.

Moving at top speed, they soon arrived at Hae'er City.

The moment they entered—

They became the center of attention.

A trainer carrying a massive Pokémon like that?

Impossible to ignore.

People began gathering instantly.

Some followed. Others stared in shock.

Feeding Plan

Ethan pushed open the door to a Pokémon food shop.

"I don't care what it is—bring everything you've got outside."

"Start with one ton."

The shop owner froze.

Then glanced outside—

At the giant Claydol.

His eyes lit up.

A big customer!

"Right away! Please wait a moment!"

Soon, food began piling up outside the shop.

Prepared meals. Fresh batches.

A mountain of food formed once again.

Ethan waited calmly.

There was nothing else he could do.

He couldn't heal Claydol—

If it woke up mid-treatment and went berserk, the entire city would be in danger.

Crowd Reactions

Meanwhile, the crowd grew larger.

People whispered among themselves:

"That thing is huge… how much does it eat in a day?"

"Do bigger Pokémon hit harder?"

"Is this some kind of mutation?"

Some even started doubting it.

"…Is that just a wooden statue?"

"Are you stupid? Why would he feed a piece of wood?"

"But it hasn't moved at all…"

Ethan glanced up.

…It did look a bit like wood.

If not for the color difference, it really could pass as one.

Warning

Ethan spoke calmly:

"You might want to step back."

"I haven't captured it yet."

"If it wakes up and attacks… you'll be caught in it."

The crowd hesitated—

Then stepped back.

Barely a few steps.

Ethan didn't bother saying more.

When it wakes up, they'll run on their own.

Awakening

Suddenly—

A shout rang out.

"It moved! That thing moved!"

Ethan's eyes sharpened instantly.

Mewtwo and Yanhuang tensed as well.

They hadn't been recalled precisely to prevent accidents.

"OOO—!"

Claydol let out a low cry.

Its body began expanding again—

Returning to its original massive size.

Signs of another rampage appeared.

The Solution?

Ethan reacted immediately.

"There's food here!"

He pointed straight at the mountain of food.

This time—

Would it work?

Chapter 180: It's a Log?! Claydol Awakens!

Zhou Yuan wasn't completely sure—

But the possibility was definitely there.

It had just been beaten unconscious, and the first thing it said upon waking was that it was hungry.

That alone made the situation… suspicious.

Looking at the Claydol in front of him, Zhou Yuan felt a headache coming on.

Even after shrinking, its size was still far beyond that of a normal Claydol.

And judging from earlier—

The moment it woke up, it would likely grow larger again and go berserk.

Even Zhou Yuan could only sigh at how bizarre the world could be.

"Forget it… let's see if I can catch it."

He took out a Poké Ball and threw it.

Just like before—

The ball bounced off Claydol's body.

No effect at all.

"It seems I need a special Poké Ball…"

"A Heavy Ball should work."

He put the Poké Ball away.

"Mewtwo, bring it along."

Since normal Poké Balls didn't work, they could only transport it manually for now.

Heavy Balls were specifically designed for large Pokémon—

But in modern times, such Pokémon were rare.

Unlike ancient Pokémon.

Take Tyrantrum for example—

Fully grown ones were significantly larger than most modern species.

Mewtwo used its psychic power to lift Claydol.

Zhou Yuan mounted Noivern.

As for Metagross—

It was recalled.

After that intense battle, it needed rest.

They regrouped with Typhlosion.

Aurora had already woken up.

She had only been affected by the aftermath earlier.

"We're… taking this Pokémon with us?"

She looked at Claydol, still visibly tired.

Even in its reduced form, it was massive.

"We'll take it," Zhou Yuan nodded.

"If we can tame it, great. If not… we seal it again."

Claydol was too dangerous.

If it woke up, it would go berserk.

There were only three options:

Capture itSeal itOr throw it into another dimension

But the last option was unrealistic.

"Still… that thing is way too violent."

Aurora frowned.

"That was probably a move—strange waves. That buzzing sound earlier was likely its effect."

Zhou Yuan explained calmly.

"Just that its size amplifies everything."

Even a support move like that could knock people unconscious.

But for him—

It wasn't a big deal.

At his current level—

He already had Champion-tier physical capability.

Even closer exposure wouldn't knock him out.

They didn't waste any time.

At full speed, they returned to the city.

The moment Zhou Yuan entered with Claydol—

He became the center of attention.

And with a giant floating Pokémon behind him—

He became the spectacle.

People followed them out of pure curiosity.

Zhou Yuan entered a Pokémon food shop.

"Bring everything out."

"Start with one ton."

The shop owner froze.

Then looked outside—

At Claydol.

His expression instantly changed.

Big customer.

"Right away!"

Soon—

Food piled up outside like a small hill.

Zhou Yuan simply waited.

He couldn't heal Claydol yet.

It wasn't captured.

And if it went berserk inside the city—

That would be a disaster.

The crowd gathered.

"That Pokémon is huge…"

"How much does it eat in a day?"

"Is that a mutation?"

People whispered.

Some even started doubting.

"Is that… a log?"

Zhou Yuan glanced at Claydol.

Honestly—

It did look like one.

If not for the color difference, it would pass as a wooden statue.

"I suggest you all back up."

Zhou Yuan warned calmly.

"I haven't captured it yet."

"If it wakes up, you'll be caught in the crossfire."

Some people stepped back.

Just a little.

Zhou Yuan didn't bother repeating himself.

They'd learn soon enough.

Suddenly—

"It moved!"

Zhou Yuan's eyes sharpened instantly.

Mewtwo and the others tensed as well.

"OOOHH!"

Claydol woke up.

Its body began expanding again—

Rapidly returning to its massive form.

And—

It was about to go berserk.

Zhou Yuan immediately pointed at the food pile.

"Food is here!"
