Chapter 212 - Chapter 212

After passing the group of Baltoy, Keiko suddenly remembered something and asked, "Sam, don't you want to catch one? Baltoy is a pretty rare Pokémon."

Sam shook his head.

The moment he saw them earlier, he had already checked the entire group. Most of those Baltoy were quite old—their potential had nearly been exhausted. There was little value in training them.

Of course, he wasn't going to say that out loud.

"Baltoy is rare, but it's difficult to raise," Sam said calmly. "If you don't understand how to train it properly, it's better to focus on a few common Pokémon instead."

"That makes sense." Keiko nodded, immediately giving up the idea.

Raising her Flygon alone already gave her enough trouble. If she added another difficult Pokémon, she might actually collapse.

The group continued forward.

With Tyranitar leading the way, most wild Pokémon avoided them entirely, making their journey much smoother.

"Tyranitar is really strong…" Asu said enviously.

He had originally thought Charizard was Sam's strongest Pokémon, but now it was clear—

That wasn't even close.

For them, though, this was good news. The stronger Sam was, the safer their expedition would be.

Since Tyranitar appeared, Eevee had regained its energy as well. The little Pokémon seemed to understand that as long as Tyranitar was around, there was no danger. It no longer hid timidly in Millie's arms and instead began curiously looking around.

"Stop."

Keiko suddenly halted everyone.

She raised her flashlight and pointed it at the surrounding walls.

They had reached the deeper part of the ruins.

Unlike before, the walls here were covered with strange carvings—ancient symbols etched deeply into the stone.

Everyone raised their flashlights, illuminating the walls.

Under the light, the patterns finally became clear.

They looked like ancient totems.

The colors were chaotic, almost dizzying if stared at for too long.

Sam glanced at them briefly before looking away.

This had to be some kind of ultra-ancient script.

He couldn't make sense of it at all.

Understanding this kind of writing wasn't something he was good at—

Fortunately, someone in the group could.

Keiko took out a notebook and pen, carefully examining the carvings as she began translating them.

"Find anything?" Sam asked.

"Not yet," she replied, spinning the pen in her fingers—a small habit of hers when focusing.

The group fell silent, waiting.

Time passed slowly.

Then suddenly—

"I got something!" Keiko exclaimed.

Everyone immediately looked at her.

"Clue?" Sam asked.

But instead of answering, Keiko took out a small knife.

Without hesitation, she cut her index finger.

"What are you doing—?" someone started to ask.

But before anyone could stop her, she pressed her bleeding finger onto the wall.

Blood seeped into the carvings.

For a moment—

Nothing happened.

Then suddenly—

The patterns began to move.

They twisted and shifted as if coming to life.

Keiko quickly stepped back to the center of the group.

Everyone held their breath.

The ground began to tremble.

Cracks spread across the walls.

Then—

The walls shattered.

In their place, ten massive stone doors appeared.

Each door was covered with similar ancient inscriptions, with a large hollow opening at its center.

The air around them grew heavy—

Ancient.

Oppressive.

"What now?" Sam asked, his eyes fixed on Keiko.

After examining the door carefully, her expression darkened.

"We need a key," she said, pointing at the hollow section. "Without it, we can't open this."

She had already identified the material.

This was Qingyan—a rare and extremely durable stone in the Pokémon world.

Even Flygon using its full strength wouldn't be able to damage it.

"Key?" Sam shook his head.

"No need."

"I'll just break it."

"That's impossible," Keiko said firmly. "This is Qingyan. No matter how strong Tyranitar is, it can't destroy it."

Sam smiled faintly and walked forward anyway.

He stopped in front of the stone door.

"Go ahead, Tyranitar."

Keiko sighed.

She knew he wouldn't give up without trying—

But she had no expectations.

Qingyan wasn't something brute force could destroy.

Tyranitar stepped forward.

Instead of attacking—

It placed both hands against the door.

Then—

It began channeling energy into it.

From the outside, Qingyan was nearly indestructible.

But inside—

Was a different story.

Under Tyranitar's energy, the interior of the stone began to break down—

Turning into sand.

At first, nothing seemed to happen.

Then—

The door trembled.

Cracks formed.

Keiko's eyes widened.

"That's… impossible…"
