Chapter 19 - First Stage Recovery

"Are you still alive?" Death greeted Enatur, she closed the book in her hand.

Enatur saw Death sitting on the chair beside the bed. She was wearing a black sleeping dress.

"Miss Death? What happened to me?" he said in confusion.

Death said with a stern tone. "You almost died because of the reckless skill you created. It's fortunate that you were able to pass your critical stage!"

Enatur's eyes trembled. "Thank you for saving me, Miss Death!" Enatur bowed to her.

"The soul in the soul core helped me, and taking care of you was troublesome!" Death looked cynically at Enatur.

Enatur scratched his head. "So-sorry for being troublesome!"

"You had chromosome damage, the Nature Flow energy vortex was damaged, and I managed to minimize the side effects of your genetic mutation."

Enatur's eyes widened. "Is it that bad! Then how long have I been asleep?"

"Tsk!... it's been 10 days since I finished giving you the 3 medicines. I also gave you medicine to speed up the recovery of the Nature Flow energy vortex in your body."

Enatur looked at his hands. "No wonder I felt fit right away!"

Death stood up, and turned towards the exit. "Get up, and come with me!"

"O-okay!" Enatur hurriedly got out of bed, and followed Death from behind.

Death and Enatur walked out of the palace, they passed through millions of undead troops, and headed towards the forest surrounding the floating island.

---

"That's how, when I was 5 years old, I had already reached demi one-star angel. And some time ago I directly upgraded to a 5-star demi angel."

Death remained silent, and continued to walk towards the deepest part of the forest.

"Here we are." Said Death.

In front of them was an ancient altar on top. Getting to the altar required hundreds of steps. The two of them flew upwards.

The top of the large circular altar was 20 meters in diameter, with a golden floor and a black octagram carved on it. The 4 pillars emitted a pale green light.

"I know you're under the Soul Core curse, I could help you, but what would I get in return for helping you?" her tone was cold.

Death turned around, her back to Enatur. It made the situation quiet and awkward. Enatur lowered his head, he was thinking deeply.

Enatur scratched his head. "I will be your subordinate instead, and I will do whatever you want!"

Enatur knelt down with one knee touching the floor, and his head bowed before Death. But Death did not budge, only remained silent with a flat face.

His thumb and index finger rubbed together. "I know what I've done to you is unforgivable, I want to make up for it and take responsibility!"

Enatur said firmly. "I don't want to make my mom sad because of my death. Please give me time to live longer!"

Death changed her tone to cold. "What does that old granny expect from a dying, useless son like you? How can you make her happy?"

His eyes glazed over, and his mouth trembled as he heard Death's sharp words. But he forced himself to restrain.

"God Marrec is your mentor, don't you want to save him too? If I can survive this curse, you can bring him back to life too, right?" Asked Enatur.

Eyebrows twitching slightly, Death folded her arms. "It seems you left a book when you took care of me."

Enatur gasped slightly, remembering the book on Death's biography that his mother had written.

His face instantly turned red. "Tha-that's not what I meant-"

Death cut her off. "Hurry up and meditate!"

Enatur raised his head. "Eh?" he looked at Death.

Death raised her voice. "Why are you gawking, did you not hear my words?"

Enatur immediately sat in cross-legged and positioned himself ready to meditate. Death opened the storage space and took out a small box.

She opened the box and a green pill with a black pattern floated before Enatur. "Swallow this pill, to repair your dying spiritual soul."

Enatur gasped. "My spiritual soul is dying?"

Death raised her voice again. "I don't care what caused it, but it's clear that you need it."

He swallowed the pill instantly, and closed his eyes. The light from the 4 pillars was directed towards Enatur's body. Death's eyes shone, looking deeper into Enatur's body.

From within his visual body, Death's eyes were like drones flying around. Before her were two spiritual souls within a transparent white energy sphere.

The sphere of energy was bound by a black chain that emitted a purplish-black aura, tightly wrapped around the sphere of energy.

The two spiritual souls inside were Enatur's soul and Marrec's soul. The two souls had their backs to each other and were in a state of sleeping.

However, Enatur's spiritual soul was in a fragile state, like a crack in glass that could break at any moment.

Death furrowed her brows. "Soul Binding Chain?!"

"I see, the old man's soul became a borrowed soul for Enatur. That means that since he was born, Enatur has been in a near-death state."

"The person who inserted the old man's soul core knew how to perform this complicated method." Death furrowed her brows. "But who did it? What was that person's purpose?"

Her eyes flew around the entire area. While traveling her eyes fell on an oval-shaped crystal, protected by a protective chamber, the Body Essence Core.

(The Body Essence Core is the source of life force for a God and his descendants)

His Body Essence Core was protected by a protective space. And the protective space was covered by a purplish-black aura.

Both were surrounded by a pitch-black aura. The pitch-black aura kept bumping into the purplish black aura, as if it wanted to penetrate into it.

"I see, that protective space must have been made by Mom. That purplish-black aura must be Master Marrec's spiritual imprint, the Van Dammon family's signature energy aura. That pitch-black aura must be the curse of the Soul Core." Death said

"At such a young age, it's already formed. Since the beginning, Enatur has been at the beginner God level. But his cultivation level hindered his development." She continued.

Death's eyes flew back to the location of his spiritual soul. She saw the cracks in Enatur's spiritual soul begin to fade.

The light in her eyes slowly faded. "The pill effect is already working. It's only a matter of time until his spiritual soul goes through the repair process."

---

A few hours later...

Enatur's body emitted a greenish aura, the same color as the pill. The light from the 4 pillars began to fade, ceasing to shine on Enatur's body.

Death closed her book, she sat on the stone railing of the side of the pillar. She walked over to Enatur, her eyes shining again, and looked at the condition of Enatur's spiritual soul.

From the visual, the cracks in his soul had disappeared completely. His spiritual soul was a little denser.

Phew!

Enatur let out a long breath. The green aura on his body slowly dimmed. He slowly opened his eyes.

"Your condition?" Death asked in a cold tone.

His fingers clenched and stretched repeatedly. "My body feels lighter, the first time I've felt like this."

Death folded her hands. "Of course, the effects of the Soul Core curse suppress 30% of physical strength, agility and other physical abilities."

Enatur was quite surprised to hear that, his eyes trembling.

"If your body is completely free of the curse, you can reach the peak of your spiritual power. Then you can become a full god." Said Death.

"Yes, Miss Death, I understand."

Death opened another small box, a golden pill with a red hue, floating above her palm.

"I have made a Spiritual Soul Recovery pill. Now swallow this pill!" the pill floated closer to Enatur.

His hand grabbed the pill and swallowed it. Enatur braced himself, his body tensed up.

Death saw Enatur acting strangely. "What are you doing?"

His body did not react. "Umm... no effect... at all?!"

Death raised her tone. "What did you expect? Seriously! Just wait a few days for your spiritual soul to recover."

Enatur immediately stood up. "We-well." He bowed 90°. "Thank you very much, Miss Death."

"Since you have chosen to be my subordinate, be prepared to be utilized as I want, even after your death, Enatur Vermillion!" Said Death.

Death walked past Enatur. "Follow me!"

Enatur followed her from behind. His eyes turned to Death's lower body.

"Her ass so hot! I'm horny."

Enatur thinks dirty.

---

They were both on the 3rd floor of the palace. Death turned around and stood facing Enatur. Death opened the storage space and took out a green katana.

Enatur was terrified to see her holding the katana. "What are you going to do?"

Death took the katana out of its sheath. "I want to see how good your sword skills are."

"Uhm, melee combat is not my style of fighting," Enatur scratched his head. "Even I've only learned a few basic sword techniques!"

Death let out a long sigh. "Did that old granny just teach you dirty tricks?"

Enatur replied nervously. "The-there were a lot of techniques taught, but melee combat is something I rarely do!"

"I know Nature Flow's energy is limitless, but what limits it is your physique and stamina. The supporting weapons you have are all ranged weapons." Said Death.

"That's true!" he replied.

Her tone was more strict. "Now let's change the perspective, how do you deal with an opponent who is a melee type? Do you have a solution?"

Enatur paused, he felt like he was flicked by Death.

A sharp flash of light appeared at the side of her eyes. "If you keep relying on your survivor battle continuously, you'll never improve!"

His eyes instantly opened wide, he swallowed. Enatur became wary of her.

"Be prepared, for I will train you until you are worthy of my side, Enatur Vermillion!"

His face turned pale, and cold sweat broke out all over his body.
