Chapter 10. Adjustment
Bird chirping faded away.
The sun had risen high, and beastmen had long started their daily activities.
Some had just returned from hunting, carrying hunt back for their mates waiting at home.
Deep inside the cave, powerful inhuman arms wrapped tightly around my body and refused to let go.
My smartwatch read 11:20, and its battery was nearly drained.
I stirred awake amid this awkward embrace, jolted by the wild beast holding me close through the entire night.
My face burned hot all of a sudden, and I buried my head against his chest.
Strangely enough, he purred softly just like a cat, even while trapped in human form.
If he had whiskers, he would look exactly like Naruto. Am I turning into Hinata now?
I flushed deeply.
What has gotten into me? Memories of last night rushed back, and suppressed frustration flared up.
Two brown nipples came into sight right in front of me, and I pinched them out of anger.
The beast yelped in sharp pain.
"Ow ow... Lily! What on earth are you doing?"
"You brute! What did you make me eat last night?" I pouted, i knew he must have use another that horny berry.
"I'm sorry, I'm truly sorry Lily. I had no idea either." He sound sincere, this idiot is lucky.
"It's already daylight. Are you hungry? I'll go find you food right away. Please don't be mad at me."
This foolish beast could not even understand what he had done wrong, yet he kept apologizing sincerely.
It had been my first time, but I had secretly enjoyed the experience.
He always listened closely to my wishes too.
In this world with no ordinary humans left, it would be wise to stay close to someone who held power to fight for me.
I had even mentally prepared myself for this kind of situation back when Meimei invited me on vacation.
I was never completely unprepared for what happened.
Wait, my birth control pill. I need to take the morning after pill immediately.
I can't be stuck in ancient caveman time and raise a baby!
I tried pulling free from his hold to reach my bag, but a sharp stabbing pain flared in my lower body, forcing me to sink clumsily to the ground.
"Lily! Are you hurt? Did I harm you last night?"
The muscular giant stared down at me, eyes welling up with tears.
He had a strong, imposing build, yet he remained so naive and gentle, nothing like his fierce nocturnal beast form last night.
"I'm fine, just exhausted."
I hid the real throbbing pain. I recalled Meimei bragging about similar discomfort after her own wild nights.
So this was how it felt? She must be lunatic to be addictied to it.
"Fetch my bag for me. I need to take some medicine."
While rubbing my sore hips, I noticed an unfamiliar mark just below my abdomen.
It was a strange tiger-shaped tattoo. How did this appear out of nowhere?
Tigris quickly brought over my bag.
I pulled out the pill box, swallowed one tablet and washed it down with water.
I could not tell if I should feel lucky about this bizarre transmigration.
None of this would have happened if I had never gone on that vacation trip.
I could have been attending seminars in Taiwan or Hong Kong instead.
Tigris gently lifted me up and settled me onto the stone bed.
"How are you feeling now? I'm sorry for not being gentler with you, Lily." He gazed at me with sad, pleading eyes.
"It's alright. Could you help me get cleaned up? I want to take a bath. My skin feels sticky and uncomfortable all over," and strange fluid keeps leaking from my lower body.
Blush.
"Shall we head to the river? I can gather fresh meat for us to eat there." He rushed off completely naked.
"Put some clothes on first. Find a secluded spot too, I do not want for other beastman to see me naked." I slipped on a loose shirt and shorts, skipping underwear knowing it would only get soiled with vulgar residue.
I would put them on properly after bathing.
The giant man stared at me with a tender, unusual glint in his eyes.
He pulled me close, pressing soft kisses along my cheek and gently lapping at my ear.
"You look absolutely lovely, my Lily. I will never let any other beastman come near you. We can travel to the outer lake instead. The journey takes longer, but I can shift into my beast form and carry you there much faster."
His body rippled and morphed into an enormous tiger.
He resembled a Siberian tiger, built like a prehistoric ice age predator with massive stature and shorter fangs.
Clinging onto his broad back proved tricky at first. His running style differed greatly from a horse's gallop.
There was barely any harsh bouncing motion, and his pace was far more steady and swift.
His wide, densely muscled spine offered plenty of space, easily large enough to carry three or four grown people.
He clamped my bag gently between his jaws and sprinted forward. Riding him felt like sitting on a smooth, well-suspended motorcycle.
"Tigris slow down, this hurts too much..." I groaned in discomfort.
Even cushioned by thick fur and firm muscle, his rigid spinal ridges still rubbed grinding against my sensitive part.
An urgent pressure built in my bladder.
I tightened my grip on the thick fur along his neck, even as he noticeably slowed his running pace.
As we arrive in a lake, tigris carry me on his right arm, while his other arms bring my bag.
The landsscape is beautiful, no other sound but bugs cricket and bird chirping,
"Lily, i will put you down okay, would ou like to stand up or sitting? Or would you like to swim with me?"
while trying hard not to look at something that colliding with mt leg, i pretend not to notice
"Is the water safe? is there no crocodile in the water?" My eyes looking suspicious at the calm clear water, it similar to prehistoric era, danger could be from anywhere.
"It safe, i always came here whenever i return from hunting."
"I want to sit on that rock, can you lay a quilt for me to sit?"
as he lay me down, my feet just touch at the refreshing water, it is clear and calm.
i took a soap, a brush and other cleaning amenities, as i make bubble with the liquid soap, fragrant smell flutering in the air, tigris washing the bed cover came close.
"Lily, what is it? it smell so good," he says, as hi sniff from the back of my neck, i jolted a lil, and push his face with my palm, my face turn red a little, i dont want to see him right now,
"Go away! you smelly tiger!"
Like thunder struck him.
"Ah... Am I smelly? I'm sorry Lily. I did not realize that. I will wash myself thoroughly, okay?" As he said that, he shifted into his tiger form and jumped into the lake.
After he dove underwater for a few minutes, I began to wonder if he had drowned.
I momentarily forgot that tigers are among the few cat species that enjoy swimming.
They can stay in the water for hours and even hunt for prey beneath the surface.
I finished scrubbing my body with soap and reached for a coconut bowl to rinse myself.
Suddenly, Tigris leaped out of the water in his beast form.
The force of his emergence sent a large splash crashing toward me, pushing me several inches backward.
I no longer needed to rinse off at all.
I sighed, realizing I had lost the bowl too.
We were both completely naked.
Tigris shifted back into his human form and rested his head on my thigh, wrapping his arms around my waist.
Instinctifly, i cover my chest with both arms.
"Lily, can you smell me? I don't stink anymore, right? Hehe..."
I brushed my fingers through his soft blonde hair.
A pleasant floral scent drifted up every time I stroked it, making me overlook the awkwardness of our bare state.
"What did you use? Do you have soap here?"
Tigris looked up casually from between my legs. "What is soap?"
"It's the foamy substance I used to clean my body just now," I replied.
"No. I used underwater lake grass. The females in my tribe use it too sometimes."
That was useful information.
My supply of soap and shampoo was limited, so I needed to find natural alternatives.
While I was lost in thought, a thick, slippery tongue slid between my thighs, drawing near my pelvis.
I shuddered and shoved his head back into the water.
"You pervert! How can you act like this in broad daylight!"
"Hehe. Lily, I love this spot. My mark lies closest to your most intimate area." His eyes glinted mischievously, and his lips curled into a seductive smirk.
"I've been curious about this strange tattoo. What exactly is it?" I finally asked.
He explained that a beast mark would appear on one's body after mating with a partner.
Its placement depended on the depth of affection and longing the female held for her mate.
Does that mean I secretly crave this handsome, shameless man? Have I lost my mind?
"Do i get something else? Can i turn into tiger too?" Tigris chuckle, and look at me with adorable eyes.
"Hahaha, what do you mean? You can't, but your cub can." Suddenly he stand up and get a higher point of view, looking me down and stroke my hair gently while calling my name.
I just sit in confuse, my blood raise all to my face, Xiao Mei told me i always have red ears whenever i get embarass.
Cub? not baby? what....
