Chapter 37 - THE TOUR THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

THE TOUR THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

The world tour didn't slow down after Los Angeles.

If anything, it only became bigger.

Clips from the LA concert with SZA were still trending everywhere, the surprise song had already crossed millions of streams, and every new city they announced sold out within minutes. Fans were calling it the biggest tour of her career, and for the first time in years, the title didn't feel like pressure.

It felt real.

Inside the tour jet, Yuna was scrolling through her phone while lying across the seat.

"Delhi sold out in nine minutes."

Sora gasped.

"Nine?? That's faster than Busan."

Jisoo looked at the schedule tablet.

"Delhi, then Amsterdam, then Toronto, then Busan finale."

Min-jae glanced at Jae-rin, who was sitting near the window with headphones on, eyes closed.

"You okay?" he asked quietly.

She opened one eye.

"I'm resting, not dying."

Yuna laughed.

"Good, because India fans will riot if you cancel."

Jae smirked slightly.

"I won't cancel."

But her fingers were tapping her knee again.

Min-jae noticed.

He always noticed.

Delhi — Concert Night

The stadium lights were blinding.

The crowd was louder than she expected.

As soon as she stepped on stage, the screaming didn't stop.

She laughed into the mic.

"Delhi… you're crazy already."

Fans screamed louder.

"I just came on stage!"

Someone shouted, "WE LOVE YOU JAE!"

She smiled.

"I love you too."

The performance started fast, the choreography sharp, the heat from the stage lights making everything feel unreal. Halfway through the set, she felt that familiar tightness in her chest again.

Just for a second.

Her breath caught.

Yuna saw it from the side instantly.

Min-jae stood up from his chair.

But Jae grabbed the water bottle, took a sip, smiled at the crowd, and kept going like nothing happened.

The fans never noticed.

Or maybe they did, but they cheered louder instead.

After the concert, backstage was chaos again.

"You scared me," Min-jae said quietly.

"I'm fine."

"You paused."

"For two seconds."

"That's enough."

She looked at him.

"…I finished the show."

He sighed but didn't argue.

Because she was right.

Amsterdam

The weather was cold, but the arena was packed.

Fans sang every song louder than the speakers.

During the talking segment, Jae sat on the edge of the stage, swinging her legs.

"You guys know every lyric."

The crowd screamed yes.

She laughed.

"Then sing the next one for me."

They did.

She didn't even need the mic for the first chorus.

Backstage later, Sora shook her head.

"They would perform the whole concert without you."

Jae smirked.

"Good. I can retire."

"No you can't," Yuna said instantly.

"We have bills."

Everyone laughed.

Toronto

This time the show was even bigger.

More lights.

More dancers.

More fans.

Ci-n sent a message before the show.

Watch your breathing.

She rolled her eyes at the phone.

Min-jae saw the message.

"He's right."

"You all act like I'm eighty."

"You act like you're invincible."

She didn't answer.

On stage, she gave one of the best performances of the tour.

High energy.

Perfect vocals.

Fans screaming her name non-stop.

At the end, she stood in the center of the stage, looking at the lights.

For a second, she felt something she hadn't felt in years.

Peace.

Busan Concert —

The Busan stadium lights went dark.

Fans started screaming immediately, louder than any other concert of the tour.

Jae-rin stood in the center of the stage, smiling like she was hiding something.

"You thought the final concert would be normal?"

The crowd shouted.

She laughed.

"I told you… last show means last surprise."

The music suddenly dropped — heavy beat, fast bass, sharp drums.

Jae turned toward the back of the stage, already grinning.

Seven shadows walked out.

The screen lit up.

The stadium

All BTS members ran onto the stage, one of them starting a fast rap as the beat hit harder.

Jae jumped in place laughing.

"야 진짜 왔네?!"

(Ya jinjja wanne?!)

You actually came?!

Backstage, David blinked.

"…What did she say?"

Min-jae crossed his arms, watching the stage.

"She said — you actually came."

Ci-n smirked.

"They sound loud."

On stage, RM pointed at her while rapping.

"새벽 두 시에 전화해서 오라고 한 사람이 누구야!"

(Saebyeok du sie jeonhwahaeseo orago han sarami nuguya!)

Who called at 2AM telling us to come?!

Min-jae translated calmly.

"He said she called them at 2AM."

David laughed.

"That sounds like her."

Jin grabbed the mic between lines.

"마지막 콘서트라면서? 안 오면 죽는 줄 알았어!"

(Majimak konseoteuramyeonseo? An omyeon jukneun jul arasseo!)

You said it's the final concert! I thought we'd die if we didn't come!

Ci-n raised an eyebrow.

"…Did he say die?"

Min-jae nodded.

"Yes."

On stage, choreography started — fast, sharp, chaotic.

Jae almost missed a step when Taehyung spun past her too fast.

She laughed mid-dance.

"야 너무 빨라!!"

(Ya neomu ppalla!!)

Hey, too fast!!

Jimin shouted back while dancing.

"네가 세게 하라며!!"

(Nega sege haramyeo!!)

You told us to go hard!!

Backstage, David looked at Min-jae.

"They arguing?"

"No. They're having fun."

Ci-n nodded.

"Sounds like arguing."

The rap switched again, faster this time.

Lights flashing, fans screaming nonstop.

During the bridge, the music stopped suddenly.

All eight stood in the center, breathing hard.

Jae bent forward laughing.

"너희 아직도 이렇게 미친 거야?"

(Neohui ajikdo ireoke michin geoya?)

You guys are still this crazy?

Min-jae translated quietly.

"She said they're still crazy."

Ci-n smirked.

"That I understood without translation."

Jungkook wiped sweat from his face.

"누가 우릴 불렀는데?"

(Nuga uril bulleonneunde?)

Who called us here?

Suga added,

"너 때문이야!"

(Neo ttaemuniya!)

It's your fault!

Jae pointed at them.

"내가 오라고 했지 이렇게 하라고는 안 했어!"

(Naega orago haetji ireoke haragoneun an haesseo!)

I told you to come, not to go this crazy!

Backstage, David laughed.

"Okay that one I could understand from the tone."

Min-jae almost smiled.

On stage, Jhope looked at her more seriously.

"근데 너 오늘 진짜 좋아 보인다."

(Geunde neo oneul jinjja joa boinda.)

You really look happy today.

Min-jae paused before translating.

"…He said she looks happy."

Ci-n looked at Jae on stage.

"…She does."

Jae blinked, then smiled.

"…응. 오늘은 좋아."

(Eung… oneureun joa.)

Yeah… today is good.

Rm asked,

"투어 끝나서 그런 거야?"

(Tueo kkeutnaseo geureon geoya?)

Is it because the tour ended?

She shook her head.

"그냥… 오늘 너희 있어서."

(Geunyang… oneul neohui isseoseo.)

Just… because you guys are here.

Backstage, Ci-n looked at Min-jae.

"…Translate."

Min-jae hesitated.

Then said quietly,

"She said she's happy because they're here."

David smiled.

"That's nice."

On stage, Jungkook suddenly sat on the floor.

"나 못 해 더."

(Na mot hae deo.)

I can't do more.

Taehyung dropped beside him.

"나도."

(Nado.)

Me too.

Jae laughed and sat too.

"야 콘서트 끝나기 전에 쓰러지지 마!"

(Ya konseoteu kkeutnagi jeone sseureojiji ma!)

Don't collapse before the concert ends!

Fans screamed louder seeing them all sitting on stage.

Suga leaned closer to her.

"한국에 계속 있는 거지?"

(Hanguke gyesok inneun geoji?)

You're staying in Korea like always, right?

She smiled.

"당연하지. 여기가 내 집이야."

(Dangyeonhaji. Yeogiga nae jib-iya.)

Of course. This is my home.

Backstage, Ci-n looked confused.

"What did he say?"

Min-jae answered,

"He asked if she's staying in Korea."

David frowned.

"She lives here."

Min-jae nodded.

"…Yeah."

On stage, jimin stood up and pulled her arm.

"마지막 포즈 가자!"

(Majimak pojeu gaja!)

Let's do the final pose!

She laughed.

"야 아직 노래 남았어!"

(Ya ajik norae namasseo!)

We still have a song left!

Fans screaming.

Music starts again.

All eight jump back into choreography, fast rap, crazy dance, lights flashing everywhere.

Confetti explodes.

Final concert becomes the loudest night of the tour.

Backstage, Min-jae watched quietly.

Ci-n crossed his arms.

David shook his head smiling.

And for some reason…

Min-jae had a strange feeling.

Like this night —

was the last peaceful one

before the past comes back.

After Busan Concert — Hotel Suite Scene (Edited Version)

The hotel suite was louder than the concert.

Food boxes everywhere, music playing from someone's phone, jackets thrown on chairs, half the crew on the floor, half on the couch.

Yuna fell onto the sofa dramatically.

"I can't move. I'm retiring."

Sora threw a cushion at her.

"You didn't even perform."

Jisoo was scrolling her phone.

"The Busan stage is already trending number one."

David leaned back in the chair.

"That surprise broke the internet."

Ci-n smirked.

"She almost broke herself too."

From the floor, Jae threw a napkin at him.

"I heard that."

She was sitting cross-legged in an oversized hoodie, hair messy, makeup half gone, looking more relaxed than she had in weeks.

Jungkook dropped next to her.

"야 나 진짜 죽겠다."

(Ya na jinjja jukgetda.)

I'm seriously dead.

David looked at Min-jae.

"…Did he say dead again?"

Min-jae nodded.

"Yes."

Jimin laughed.

"누가 그렇게 춤추래?"

(Nuga geureoke chumchurae?)

Who told you to dance like that?

Jae pointed at them.

"내가 오라고 했지 그렇게 하라고는 안 했어."

(Naega orago haetji geureoke haragoneun an haesseo.)

I told you to come, not to go crazy like that.

Ci-n looked confused.

"…They sound angry."

Min-jae shook his head.

"They're joking."

Taehyung looked at Jae carefully.

"근데 오늘 진짜 좋아 보이더라."

(Geunde oneul jinjja joa boideora.)

You looked really happy today.

Min-jae paused, then translated.

"He said she looked happy on stage."

David nodded.

"She did."

Jae leaned back on her hands.

"…오늘은 좋았어."

(Oneureun johasseo.)

Today felt good.

Suga asked,

"투어 끝나니까 좀 편하지?"

(Tueo kkeutnanikka jom pyeonhaji?)

Feels easier now that the tour ended, right?

She nodded.

"응. 이제 좀 쉴 수 있겠다."

(Eung. Ije jom swil su itgetda.)

Yeah. I can rest now.

Ci-n whispered,

"Translate."

Min-jae sighed.

"She said she can finally rest."

Jhope suddenly lay down on the carpet.

"나 여기서 잘래."

(Na yeogiseo jallae.)

I'm sleeping here.

Yuna laughed.

"You can't sleep on the floor!"

Jin dropped next to him.

"나도."

(Nado.)

Me too.

Jae laughed.

"야 호텔 침대 놔두고 왜 여기서 자."

(Ya hotel chimdae nwadugo wae yeogiseo ja.)

Why are you sleeping here when there's a bed?

David looked at Min-jae.

"They always like this?"

"…Yes."

She shouted suddenly

"이 자식아, 내 김밥 돌려줘"

( I jasig-a,nae gimbab dollyeojwo)

"Asshole give me my gimbap back!"

Ci-n nodded slowly.

"That one I understood."

David laughed.

"Finally."

Another member nudged her shoulder.

"그것을 너무 많이 먹으면 몸이 아프게 됩니다."

(Geugeos-eul neomu manh-i

Meog-eumyeon mom-i apeuge deobnida )

("You will get sick if u eat it too much .")

She smirked.

"의사냐?"

(Uisanya?)

Are you a doctor?

Ci-n raised his hand.

"I am."

Everyone laughed.

Min-jae translated.

"He said he's the doctor."

All seven members looked at Ci-n.

RM said in Korean,

"아 진짜 의사야?"

(A jinjja uisaya?)

He's actually a doctor?

Min-jae translated.

"Yes."

They all nodded impressed.

Suga looked back at Jae.

"그래서 더 조심해야지."

(Geuraeseo deo josimhaeyaji.)

Then you should be more careful.

She rolled her eyes.

"다들 똑같은 말 한다."

(Dadeul ttokgateun mal handa.)

Everyone says the same thing.

Min-jae didn't translate this time.

Ci-n looked at him.

"What did she say?"

Min-jae answered quietly.

"…That everyone keeps telling her the same thing."

The room went quiet for a moment.

Then Yuna clapped.

"Group photo!"

Everyone groaned.

"No."

"Yes."

They all squeezed together anyway, half laughing, half exhausted.

Jae sat in the middle, all seven members around her, crew behind, Ci-n and David standing awkwardly, Min-jae at the side.

Camera flash.

For a moment, everything felt normal.

Happy.

Like nothing from the past existed.

But across the room, Min-jae noticed Jae's hand on the table.

Her fingers tapping slowly.

The same way they did

when she couldn't sleep.

Hotel Suite — Late Night → Morning Scene

The room slowly got quieter after the photo.

Music was still playing, but lower now.

Food boxes were half empty, jackets everywhere, lights dim.

Suga stretched and fell back on the carpet.

"나 진짜 못 움직여…"

(Na jinjja mot umjigyeo…)

I seriously can't move…

Jungkook dropped on the couch.

"여기서 자자."

(Yeogiseo jaja.)

Let's just sleep here.

Jae laughed, sitting on the floor with her back against the sofa.

"방도 있는데 왜 여기서 자."

(Bangdo inneunde wae yeogiseo ja.)

There are rooms, why are you sleeping here?

David looked at Min-jae.

"What did she say?"

"She asked why they're sleeping here."

Ci-n nodded.

"Good question."

Jimin pointed at the floor.

"여기가 편해."

(Yeogiga pyeonhae.)

It's comfortable here.

Taehyung added,

"움직이기 싫어."

(Umjigigi sireo.)

I don't want to move.

Yuna dropped on the couch next to them.

"Same."

Sora sat on the carpet.

"I'm not going to my room."

Jisoo grabbed a pillow.

"Goodnight then."

Everyone laughed.

Jae leaned her head back, closing her eyes for a second.

Min-jae noticed.

"You tired?"

She opened one eye.

"…Very."

taehyung looked at her.

"오늘 진짜 고생했다."

(Oneul jinjja gosaenghaetta.)

You worked hard today.

Min-jae translated quietly.

"He said you worked hard."

She smiled a little.

"너희도."

(Neohuido.)

You too.

Ci-n crossed his arms, watching her.

"You should sleep."

She pointed at the floor.

"Everyone is sleeping here, I can too."

David laughed.

"This looks like a school trip."

RM already had his eyes closed.

"불 끄자…"

(Bul kkeuja…)

Turn the lights off…

Yuna reached for the switch.

Lights went dim.

The room became quiet.

Some on the couch.

Some on the floor.

Some half sitting, half lying down.

Jae ended up on the carpet with a cushion under her head, one arm over her eyes.

Min-jae sat against the wall for a while, watching everyone.

Ci-n whispered,

"She didn't take anything tonight."

Min-jae nodded.

"…I know."

David looked confused.

"Take what?"

Neither of them answered.

After a while, Min-jae pulled a blanket from the chair and put it over Jae carefully.

She didn't wake up.

For the first time in days,

she was sleeping peacefully.

Min-jae leaned his head back against the wall.

And slowly,

he fell asleep too.

Morning

Sunlight came through the curtains.

Someone groaned.

"아… 머리야…"

(A… meoriya…)

Ah… my head…

Another voice answered,

"술도 안 마셨는데 왜 이래…"

(Suldo an masyeonneunde wae irae…)

We didn't even drink, why do I feel like this…

David opened his eyes from the chair.

"…Why is everyone on the floor."

Ci-n rubbed his face.

"We slept here?"

Min-jae woke up last, looking around.

The carpet was full.

Couch full.

Blankets everywhere.

Jhope sat up slowly and looked at Jae still sleeping.

"야 아직 자."

(Ya ajik ja.)

She's still sleeping.

Jimin whispered,

"조용히 해."

(Joyonghi hae.)

Be quiet.

Min-jae translated softly.

"They said be quiet, she's still asleep."

David smiled.

"That's rare."

Ci-n nodded.

"Very rare."

Jae suddenly moved, pulling the blanket closer, then opened one eye.

She looked around.

Everyone staring at her.

She blinked.

"…Why are you all here."

Jin laughed.

"네가 여기서 자자고 했잖아."

(Nega yeogiseo jajago haetjana.)

You said we should sleep here.

She sat up slowly, hair messy, hoodie twisted.

"I said that?"

Yuna laughed.

"You were half asleep."

Sora pointed.

"You fell first."

Jae covered her face.

"…Don't tell anyone."

Jungkook grinned.

"이미 다 봤어."

(Imi da bwasseo.)

We all saw.

Min-jae translated.

"He said everyone saw."

She threw a pillow at him.

Everyone started laughing.

Loud.

Messy.

Tired.

Happy.

For a moment, the room felt like years ago.

Like nothing bad had ever happened.

Like the past didn't exist.

And no one noticed

that on the table,

Jae's phone screen lit up.

Unknown number.

From Korea.
