Liang Chen looked up at the night sky, where the lanterns swayed gently above the shrine courtyard.
"When will the fireworks start?"
Xu Jin glanced around, searching for someone who might know.
"Let me ask around from someone."
He walked toward the nearby seller who had sold them the red thread earlier. After a brief conversation, Xu Jin returned with a satisfied expression.
"thw seller said near about half an hour."
"Half an hour?" Chen repeated.
Xu Jin nodded. "That's what he said."
Chen looked down at the little white furball in his arms.
Yun Hu had spent almost the entire afternoon eating treats, being carried around, and receiving attention from practically everyone they encountered.
Chen stroked his soft fur.
"Are you hungry, Mr. Yu?"
Yun Hu wasn't particularly hungry. His stomach was probably still full from everything he had eaten earlier. But when food was being discussed, refusing it would have been an insult to his dignity.
He immediately lifted his head.
