Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 — The Convergence of Wills

The second half of the fight began not with a sound, but with a vacuum.

Jinchul initiated the exchange by collapsing the mana in the center of the arena.

The 'Mana Singularity' he created acted as a vacuum, pulling the Chairman's golden aura toward a single point. For a split second, Go Gunhee's movements were hindered as his own power was turned against him.

Jinchul capitalized. He moved with a speed that bypassed the human eye. He wasn't just running; he was folding the space between his steps.

Cling!

The sound of mana clashing sounded like tempered steel hitting steel. Jinchul engaged in close-quarters combat, his hands moving in a blur of strikes aimed at the Chairman's pressure points. Each strike carried a 'Mana Shards'—tiny shards of Mana designed to disrupt the flow of the opponent's circuit.

Gunhee laughed, a deep, resonant sound that shook the bunker. "A clever trick! But a Lion does not care for mosquitoes!"

The Chairman flexed his muscles, and the 'Ruler's Authority' surged. He didn't just push the mana out; he commanded the room. "Kneel," he whispered.

The word carried the weight of a skyscraper. Jinchul's knees buckled as the gravity in the arena suddenly increased a hundredfold. The sand beneath him flattened into a solid sheet of stone.

But Jinchul's Reawakening was rooted in 'Persistence.' He gritted his teeth, the veins in his neck bulging. He looked up at the Gilded Lion, who was walking toward him with the slow, deliberate pace of a predator.

"Is this the limit of your new path, Jinchul?" Gunhee asked, his voice full of a mentor's challenge.

"Not... even... close," Jinchul hissed.

Jinchul let out a primal scream. Instead of fighting the gravity, he absorbed it. He pulled the crushing weight into his own mana core, compressing it until his body began to emit a faint, violet steam. This was 'Absolute Density'—a state where his physical body and his mana became one indistinguishable force.

He exploded upward.

The shockwave from his jump cracked the ceiling sixty feet above. He collided with Gunhee in mid-air. The two titans traded blows that created mini-supernovas of light and shadow.

Left hook from Gunhee—blocked.Right knee from Jinchul—parried.A dual palm strike from Gunhee—met by Jinchul's forehead.

They were no longer dodging. They were testing whose will was stronger. Every time they touched, a localized explosion of mana occurred, shedding enough energy to power a small city.

On the deck, Seok exclaimed. "The mana density in the room has surpassed the safety limit! Byung-gu, if we don't stop them, the containment field will fail!"

"Let them finish," Byung-gu said, his face illuminated by the flashes of gold and orange "Look at the Chairman. He hasn't looked this happy lately. And Jinchul... he's finally stopped being a shadow."

In the arena, the fight reached its crescendo.

Go Gunhee gathered all his remaining strength into his right fist. The golden light condensed until it was a tiny, white-hot point of light. The 'Heavenly Strike.' It was a move designed to end a war.

Jinchul, sensing the end, threw his entire existence into his final punch. He drew upon his 'Mana,' the silent space between the stars that he had glimpsed during his Reawakening. His fist became a point of absolute nothingness. The 'Zero-Point Impact.'

They charged.

There was no sound when they met. For three full seconds, the world was white.

The two fists were locked together in the center of the crater. The golden light of the Sun and the Sunset (Orange) silence of his Mana were grinding against each other, neither willing to give an inch. The air around them was vibrating so violently that the sand was hovering in the air, caught in the stalemate.

"Give up, Jinchul!" Gunhee strained, his face red with effort.

"Never, Chairman!" Jinchul roared back.

The energy reached its breaking point. A massive, dome-shaped explosion erupted from the center, throwing both men in opposite directions.

Jinchul slammed into the far wall, leaving a human-shaped indentation in the reinforced steel. Gunhee was thrown back, his heels digging deep trenches in the floor before he finally came to a halt at the very edge of the arena.

Silence returned to the bunker, save for the sound of falling debris and the hissing of broken pipes.

Byung-gu and others scrambled down the stairs, ignoring the 'Danger' warnings flashing on the monitors. They found the two men in the middle of the settling dust.

Go Gunhee was sitting on the ground, leaning back on his hands, his shirt completely gone, his chest heaving. He was covered in bruises and small mana burns, but his eyes were sparkling.

Woo Jinchul was lying flat on his back, staring at the ceiling. His dress shirt was in tatters, and his knuckles were split open, but he had a faint, tired smile on his lips.

"A draw..." Taeshik whispered, looking at the two men.

"Actually," Gunhee wheezed, pointing at Jinchul. "If we had gone five seconds longer... my heart might have kept up, but the room would have vanished. I think the Chief... has finally graduated."

Jinchul rolled onto his side, coughing up a bit of dust. "I think... we need a new suit, Chairman."

Gunhee burst into a loud, hearty laugh that echoed through the ruined chamber.

Byung-gu stepped forward, his hands glowing with the most powerful healing aura he had ever manifested. "You two are the most reckless S-Ranks in history. But..." He looked at Jinchul, then at the rejuvenated Chairman. "That was the most exhilarating fight I've ever seen."

The news of the spar wouldn't just be "talked about." It would become a legend. The day the Wolf stood toe-to-toe with the Gilded Lion and didn't blink. The day the Hunter's Association proved that they weren't just administrators—they were the strongest wall in the world.

As Jinchul accepted the healing, he felt the shift in the atmosphere. The Mana he had was large but restricted. Now he feels light enough that he feels the limit is no longer stopping him.

"So Jinchul, is this how you train usually?" came a voice low enough to which Jinchul slowly strained his neck looking right "Hey Jinhee, thanks for bringing the suit. I was feeling windy. No No I do not usually train like this. Please believe me"

"Yes Ms. Jinhee, I can vouch for that. He doesn't even have time to train" Gunhee interrupted them with a laugh. Jinchul immediately thanked Gunhee with his eyes who gave him a laugh for that.

"Jinchul, take Ms.Jinhee home, Looks like she needs to rest." Gunhee gave Jinchul the day-off "Yes, President. Thankyou"

"Do you think will Ms. Jinhee talk about what I said to Chief" Taeshik asked with a pale face to Chiyul who nodded "Definitely"
