Chapter 14 - Chapter: 14 Guild Master Zenn

Knock… Knock… Knock…

There was three consecutive knocks on the door.

"Is anyone there? May I come in?"

The attention of those in the room shifted from their conversations to the door.

The Guild Master's gaze shifted to the door. He wondered who it could be after so long. A serious expression was evident on his face.

"Emi…"

The Guild Master's voice silenced the room again. He looked at Emi—as if to say, "Look who's at the door."

Emi, understanding the hint, moved forward.

Kade, who had been standing completely still, cast a brief glance at Ishan. As if Ishan was thinking the same thing he was thinking. He had already guessed who might be standing on the other side of the door. The voice sounded familiar.

"Okay, Master," Emi says and slowly walks towards the door.

As she opens the door, a young man appears standing in front of her. He's around twenty-one or twenty-two years old. He has light sky-blue eyes, thick, long black hair that falls around his face and covers his ears.

Emi recognizes him as soon as she sees him.

"Oh… Mr. Raijin," Emi immediately says.

"Please come in. Master is already inside."

Raijin bows his head slightly, places a hand on his chest, and steps inside.

As he steps into the room, his gaze wanders around.

The air in the room seems to feel heavy for a moment.

Sofiya's fingers involuntarily curl into a fist.

Ishan's eyebrows furrow slightly.

Kade's eyes silently study Raijin—as if he were looking at a puzzle, not an ordinary human being.

Raijin's eyes first fall on Sofiya. Then he looks at Ishan and Kade, and finally, his gaze lands on the Guild Master sitting in front.

After seeing everyone, he gives a slight smile and stands directly in front of the Guild Master.

He didn't have to think long as he came in to figure out who the Guild Master could be.

He had first met Emi after the battle with Toto Saurus, when he was badly injured and it was Emi who brought him a doctor.

His memories were still hazy...

But Emi's face seemed strangely familiar to him.

He already knew Sofiya, Ishan, and Kade.

Raijin stood in front of the Guild Master.

The Guild Master gave him a slight smile. Then he looked at Sofiya and her team. Sofiya's eyes were still fixed on Raijin.

She feels a slight tingling sensation in her body—as if countless needles were pricking her all at once.

She inadvertently glances at the Guild Master sitting in front of her. The tingling sensation made her unable to understand anything. But as soon as their gaze met, she calmed down. She understood what the person sitting in front of her wanted.

She got up from the sofa and bowed slightly, saying,

"Master, if you permit, shall we leave now?"

"Yes, you may," the Guild Master replies.

Sofiya, Ishan, and Kade leave the room.

Emi turns to Raijin and says,

"Hello Mr. Raijin, let me introduce myself—

My name is Emi. You've met me before, but you may not remember. I brought the doctor to treat you. You may call me Ema if you feel comfortable."

"And this guy sitting in front of you—"

"Wait, Emi," the Guild Master interrupts.

"I'll introduce myself."

He looks at Raijin.

"Hello, Raijin. I'm the Master of this Guild. My name is Zenn."

Raijin extends his hand.

"Hello, Mr. Zenn. My name is Raijin."

Zenn laughs lightly.

"There's no need for so much formality. I just mentioned my name because you didn't know."

Raijin's face turns slightly red with embarrassment.

"Okay… Mr. Zenn," he says in a slightly faltering voice.

Zenn smiles again, "I just told you… you can just call me Zenn. But not outside or in front of people."

Raijin listens calmly.

He pauses for a moment and then says, "Can I call you Master?"

Zenn's eyes light up.

As if he's encountered a favorite topic.

He pauses for a moment and says, "As you wish."

"Okay," Raijin nods.

"Then I'll call you Master."

After a moment of silence, Raijin gets straight to the point.

"Why did you call me Master?"

The sparkle in Zenn's eyes slowly fades.

The cheerful man he was a few moments ago has now been replaced by a serious, deep-in-thought figure.

The way he sat, looked, and spoke had completely changed—as if he were a different person.

Zenn's gaze drifted momentarily to the sword Raijin held in his hand.

Then to the faint dust marks on his clothes.

He said nothing—but his eyes flickered with interest for a moment.

"Sit down first," Zenn says.

"We'll talk after that."

Raijin, who had been standing, sits down on the sofa behind him.

Silence descends on the room.

The atmosphere has become as if even the silence is concealing its presence.

The smiles that once graced both their faces had completely vanished.

They were both looking at each other with serious eyes—as if the upcoming conversation wasn't going to be ordinary.
