Lyra sat near one of the tall windows in the library with three open textbooks spread around her and absolutely no motivation left.
She stared at the page in front of her for almost a full minute before realizing she'd reread the same sentence six times.
Something about blood cell structures, or ancient politics. Honestly at this point, who knew.
Her pen tapped lightly against the table. Outside the windows, evening sunlight filtered through the trees surrounding campus.
Around her, students looked equally miserable. Midterms were approaching fast. The entire academy felt stressed.
Lyra sighed quietly and rubbed her eyes, movement near the library entrance caught her attention.
A familiar figure walked inside. Xavier?
Lyra straightened slightly in surprise. She hadn't seen him in days. Actually… now that she thought about it, nobody really had.
