Chapter 96: Kallen: Otto, You're Sleeping Alone Tonight
Watching Little Senti jump up and down in excitement, looking as if she wanted to crawl into the screen and have a boxing match with Otto, Fu Hua quickly held her back.
"Calm down. It's only my character in the game who 'died.' I'm still alive and well, aren't I?"
Senti was still fuming. "That's not the point! I can't stand it! That damn Otto keeps calling you a friend, and then this is how he treats his friends?! If the uncle can endure it, the auntie cannot!"
Fu Hua looked at her sister helplessly, shook her head, and sighed. "I believe the phrase is 'If this can be tolerated, what cannot?' You, really..."
"No! Absolutely not! I have to call Su Mu and ask him what he's thinking! He has to resurrect the Old Timer! And he better give me a character that can beat Otto to a pulp! Otherwise, I won't be able to satisfy my grudge!"
Senti was about to call Su Mu to interrogate him on the spot, but Fu Hua stopped her.
"Don't trouble Su Mu... besides, in my opinion, I might not necessarily be dead in the game."
"Oh? Is that so?"
"Do you remember? During the fight with the Second Herrscher, I mentioned having a second Divine Key. If I'm not mistaken, that Divine Key should be related to the feathers that treated Professor Himeko earlier."
"Wait, so you're saying you might escape death by relying on that Divine Key?"
"It should be like that... besides, I don't think Otto truly wanted to kill me."
"?" Senti stared at Fu Hua, her eyes wide with disbelief. She felt like Fu Hua was talking nonsense. "Old Timer, has your brain short-circuited? Otto shot you! He shot you and you think he didn't want to kill you?"
Fu Hua shook her head. "Otto's expression didn't look like he was lying. If he said he didn't lie, then it's probably true."
Senti snorted disdainfully. "Tch, I'm not as naive as you, Old Timer! Otto is a cold, heartless, and selfish man! To achieve his goals, he's even willing to sacrifice Theresa! It's only natural for him to kill someone as troublesome as you! That's just the kind of person he is!"
"True, that possibility cannot be ruled out either..." Fu Hua looked at the now-calmed Senti. Her goal had been achieved—using this logic to let the hot-headed kid cool down. "Didn't Otto say it himself? Five hundred years ago at Mount Taixu, I suffered a similar injury but survived. Since I've lived from the Previous Era to the present in the game, I must have some way to save my life."
"It better be like that..." Senti muttered, continuing to play Honkai Impact 3rd.
At the same time, in Pardo Felis's livestream room.
Witnessing Otto pull the trigger caused the entire chat to explode. The comments were a sea of condemnation for Otto's actions, with censored words appearing frequently. This phenomenon wasn't unique to Pardo's stream; almost every channel broadcasting Honkai 3rd was filled with viewers attacking Otto.
Even Welt Yang of Anti-Entropy Entertainment couldn't help but take off his glasses and say to Tesla, "As for Otto... the fact that he could do such a thing doesn't surprise me at all."
Tesla rolled her eyes. Anti-Entropy and Schicksal had always been at odds; both were world-renowned consortia, and they had clashed many times. Welt and Otto's relationship was definitely not friendly; while they weren't exactly sworn enemies, they were certainly not friends.
"To be honest, seeing so many people cursing Otto feels great! That 'mop-head' Einstein is probably having the time of her life right now too!"
Welt smiled. "Dr. Einstein... haha, probably."
It had to be said, seeing his long-time rival being cursed by the masses felt quite refreshing. Of course, even if it was just the in-game Otto... it didn't matter. Who said the in-game Otto wasn't Otto?
Almost simultaneously, in the office of the Schicksal Consortium President, Otto looked at the screen where the gun had fired and fell into deep thought.
"Lord Otto? Lord Otto?" Amber repeated her words from a moment ago. "Lady Kallen is angry about what you did, so she isn't coming home tonight. She said you are sleeping alone."
Otto's expression didn't change much on the surface, but Amber could see his hands trembling. She knew exactly what that meant...
Not long after she stepped out of Otto's office, she heard a heart-wrenching scream.
"—NOOOO!!!"
The snowflakes flutter, the north wind blows, the world is a vast expanse of white—
Someone had chosen a very inappropriate moment to play a strange song. It was the middle of summer, yet it felt like it was starting to snow. How mysterious.
In Pardo's stream, the chat was busy interrogating Su Mu.
[God Su, Fu Hua isn't dead, right?]
[God Su, you're going to let us see Otto's health bar eventually, right?]
[I beg you, God Su! Give me a chance to beat up Otto, I really can't take it anymore!]
Seeing the constant questioning, Su Mu only smiled and replied, "There are many things I can't say, but rest assured, there will definitely be an opportunity in the future."
[Good, good, good! Otto, you just wait!]
[Damn, now I have to keep playing Honkai 3rd! Until I can slash Otto, I'm never quitting!]
[There's now one more reason to play this game!]
No one expected that because of a single sentence from Su Mu, players now had a new motivation: waiting for the day Otto's health bar appeared!
The game continued. As the visuals shifted, the scene moved to the containment bay where Himeko was.
Murata Himeko opened her eyes, struggling to support herself as she stood up. She recalled what had happened, remembering she had been captured. Himeko was worried about Theresa and the others and wanted to leave, but her body felt too heavy to move. Strange static filled her head.
Suddenly, Himeko discovered a serum in her hand that hadn't been there before.
"HSN-b46."
Looking at the serum, Himeko's voice sounded stunned. In the next moment, several feathers surrounded her body. She looked up and saw someone standing outside the containment bay.
It was Fu Hua, in her Phoenix form!
