Liam did want to help Grace with her goal to repay her for everything she had done and been for him. He was also curious about the topic. He had never asked too much, and Grace didn't look keen on sharing details yet, so he had respected that.
However, the northern region was famously more barren than the eastern one. The western region was also superior in that regard, and Liam and Grace needed a lot of resources, more than any other cultivator.
Even if the northern region had what the couple needed, competition would be more intense due to the scarcity of resources. That meant more fights, which always wasted assets, as well as a higher degree of focused enmity.
