AFTERMATH OF WAR
The battlefield had fallen silent.
What once echoed with the clash of steel and the cries of warriors was now reduced to a graveyard of devastation.
The earth was soaked in blood, and the air carried the heavy scent of ash and loss.
Lifeless bodies lay scattered across the land shinobi of both the Yaskue and Hinotori clans, their lives extinguished in a war that spared no one.
Among them lay the fallen… and the forgotten.
And at the center of it all Haru Yaskue.
The Arrival of Shukumei
From the distant horizon, a lone figure descended.
Shukumei.
A shinobi once allied with Haru, clad in a red Tang suit adorned with a sakura emblem, his presence calm yet commanding. His spiked ponytail swayed gently as he surveyed the battlefield, his expression tightening at the sight before him.
Activating his ocular power the Butsugan, the all-perceiving eye of the celestial dragons—he scanned the field with precision.
It did not take long.
He found him.
A HEARTBREAKING SIGHT
As Shukumei moved forward, his gaze lingered on the fallen—children, families, entire bloodlines erased in a matter of days.
The weight of it pressed heavily upon him.
This was not victory.
This was tragedy.
A GRANDMASTER FALLEN
He reached Haru and dropped to one knee beside him.
Haru's body was broken, his once-pristine robe torn and stained with blood. Yet even in its ruined state, it still bore the mark of his title—
Grandmaster of Light.
Shukumei carefully lifted him.
"It's alright," he said softly. "I'm here now."
From within his abilities, he activated a healing technique Yakushi.
A sacred visual art infused with nature energy capable of mending wounds, easing pain, and restoring clarity.
A faint glow enveloped Haru.
LIGHT RETURNS
Slowly… Haru's vision began to return.
His eyes flickered open.
"…Shukumei?" he asked weakly.
Shukumei nodded.
"I'm here."
A faint smile formed on Haru's face.
"…The Dragon War… it's over."
Shukumei exhaled.
"Yes… it's over."
A BOND BEYOND WAR
Haru expressed his gratitude, his voice faint but sincere.
Shukumei lowered his gaze.
"I should have been here sooner."
Haru chuckled softly.
"You always find your way… I knew you would."
Shukumei retrieved a small bottle of water and offered it to him.
Haru drank slowly, the cool liquid restoring a fragment of his strength.
A MISSION UNFINISHED
Though weakened, Haru pushed himself upright.
"You should return to the village," Shukumei suggested.
But Haru shook his head.
"No… the war may be over… but my mission isn't."
Shukumei's expression sharpened.
"…Where?"
"The Village of Kurayami."
JOURNEY TO THE SHADOWS
Haru explained his intent—to meet with an ally and uncover the truth behind Daku Hinotori.
"For the sake of the future… balance must be preserved."
Shukumei nodded.
"Then I'll take you."
He draped Haru's arm over his shoulder, supporting him as they took to the skies.
VILLIAGE OF KURAYAMI
They arrived before a towering black gate, guarded by four elite shinobi.
The moment they were seen, weapons were drawn.
"State your identities!" one demanded.
Haru stepped forward.
"I'm here to speak with Itami Hinotori."
CLASH AT THE GATE
The guards hesitated—then attacked.
Haru reacted instantly.
He partially drew his blade, blocking the first strike with precision.
With a swift motion, he delivered a powerful kick, sending the attacker crashing backward.
Two more approached from behind—
Haru flipped into the air, releasing eight shuriken mid-spin.
They struck cleanly, pinning the attackers to the ground.
A BODY AT ITS LIMIT
"I'm not here to fight," Haru declared.
But suddenly
Pain surged through his body.
He collapsed, coughing up blood.
SHUKUMEI INTERVENES
"Haru!" Shukumei shouted.
As another shinobi charged, Shukumei stepped forward, locking eyes with him.
The Butsugan activated.
In an instant
The shinobi froze.
Shukumei's voice echoed within their minds.
"Where is Itami Hinotori?"
"…The Kurayami tree…" they responded weakly before collapsing.
TRUTH BE SILENCE
As they entered the village, Shukumei glanced at Haru.
"You're not fine," he said.
Haru said nothing.
And that silence spoke everything.
KOSUKE APPEARS
A shinobi named Kosuke approached, his sharp gaze assessing them.
"What is your purpose here?"
"I seek Itami Hinotori," Haru replied.
When Haru revealed Daku's death Kosuke froze.
"…Impossible."
A DISCIPLES GRIEF
"Daku was my mentor… the Grandmaster of Darkness…"
His voice faltered.
But his eyes revealed the truth… He believed them.
PATH TO THE MOUNTAIN
Kosuke guided them through the village, leading them toward the mountains.
Shukumei turned to Haru.
"You knew about this… and didn't tell me?"
Haru remained silent.
Then spoke softly:
"I need you to trust me."
Shukumei did.
THE MAN BENEATH THE MOON
At the mountain's edge stood a lone figure.
Itami Hinotori.
His eyes glowed with the power of the Kokkorogan.
He turned slowly.
"…So this was the end."
THE END OF WAR
Haru nodded.
"Daku is gone. The war is over."
"…And yet no one remains to witness it."
Itami closed his eyes.
"I expected as much."
A GIFT OF BALANCE
Haru stepped forward.
"I've come to give you something."
A power.
One that could maintain balance in the world.
Kosuke clenched his fist, sensing the immense aura.
"Why give this power back?" Itami asked.
THE TRUTH OF THE WORLD
Haru spoke:
"In this world… where there is light, there will always be darkness."
"Without good, there is no evil."
"And without evil… there is no good."
THE NEXT GENERATION
Itami revealed the truth
"There are survivors. My daughters… Hikari and Kurai."
Haru smiled.
Hope.
A BOLD DECISION
"I want to entrust this power… to your youngest."
Kosuke objected immediately.
"She's only eight!"
But Haru stood firm.
"She will maintain balance."
Kosuke steps back, bowing his head as he apologizes to Haru before leaving the scene.
Haru turns to Itami and asks, "Now that Daku is gone, who will become the Grandmaster of Kurayami?"
Itami's expression shifts with curiosity. "That's actually a very good question," he says. "I have authority within the hierarchy I'll gather information on it."
Haru closes his eyes with a faint smile. "I think you would be a perfect fit for the role."
Itami turns slightly, a nonchalant smile forming. "You think so?"
Without another word, Itami leads Haru and Shukumei to his residence.
Outside, thirteen-year-old Hikari and eight-year-old Kurai Hinotori are training. Both girls have black hair and brown eyes, resembling each other almost like twins. Hikari wears a purple kimono decorated with floral patterns, while Kurai wears a black and purple kimono.
Itami calls out to them, "Girls, this is Haru Yaskue, the Grandmaster of Light. He is a guest."
Hikari looks at Haru with suspicion. "Father… wasn't there a war between our clan and his?"
Itami replies calmly, "Yes the war between the Hinotori and Yaskue clans. Unfortunately, we are the only survivors left."
Hikari lowers her gaze, sadness in her voice. "I see…"
"It's alright," Itami says gently. "We now have peace within our village."
Kurai steps around Hikari, looking up at her father with curiosity. "Father… there was a war?"
Itami hesitates. He never wanted Kurai to be involved in the life of a shinobi, but he knows he cannot hide the truth. He kneels slightly and explains it to her in a simple, gentle way.
"Now," he finishes, "we can live a new life together as a family."
Both girls smile and run forward, hugging him tightly. Itami embraces them before looking at Kurai.
"The Grandmaster of Light has a special gift for you," he says softly. "Why don't you step over there for a moment, away from Hikari?"
Kurai tilts her head curiously. "Okay…"
Haru steps forward, his presence calm and reassuring. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine. I can see it you will grow up to bring peace to the world."
Kurai's eyes light up. "Really? Like a superhero from the books I read?"
Haru chuckles, rubbing the back of his head.
"Yeah… exactly like that."
Kurai smiles brightly. "That's cool. Let's do it."
THE SEAL OF DHARMA
Haru stepped forward.
"Nature Class Four Seals of Dharma!"
A radiant spiritual force emerged The image of a divine Buddha surrounded by four circles of light.
POWER TRANSFERED
The dark dragon's essence surged forward Entering Kurai. She screamed Then collapsed.
AFTER THE RITUAL
"She'll wake by morning," Haru assured.
Itami bowed deeply.
LOVE,LOYALTY,TRUST
They spoke of rebuilding.
Of healing.
Of unity.
They shook hands a symbol of love, loyalty, trust, respect, and honor.
DEPARTURE
"It is time," Itami said.
"Peace isn't given… it's pursued."
Haru nodded.
"I'll see you again."
PEACE AND HARMONY
And as they parted ways a new era quietly began.
One not defined by war but by balance.
