Odian carried Nina to a small, secluded stone house near the edge of the tribe. The house stood alone among the trees. Inside, it was clean and neatly arranged, warm and comfortable.
As Nina looked around the carefully decorated room—so elegant it almost seemed tailored specifically for her—she couldn't help feeling that this might have been planned in advance.
Odian gently set her down on the bed. Then he reached into his storage space and took out a beautiful red garment edged with delicate gold thread.
"Nina," he said softly, "this is clothing I made for you using phoenix silk unique to our Phoenix clan. See if you like it."
Phoenix silk was extremely rare. Odian had spent a long time and expended considerable energy to weave this single piece.
Nina unfolded the garment to examine it more closely.
The style looked strikingly similar to a wedding robe—and even the color matched.
"It's beautiful," Nina praised sincerely.
