Chapter 160 - Chapter 160: Treasure Box! This is the treasure of the future!

What a joke!

A one-star difficulty mission naturally wouldn't offer too generous rewards.

Especially a mission to clear Walkers; such a mission isn't considered complete until every single Walker is eliminated.

For such a small benefit, would Shawn really have to Search up and down this building for traces of Walkers?

Previous missions were always done conveniently because they aligned with Shawn's goals.

However, this current mission was simply too time-consuming, and Shawn didn't have that much time to waste on it.

He decided not to accept the mission. If he encountered any Walkers along the way, he would deal with them. As for the others, he would let them be.

Entering the building, the elevator was already suspended and stalled on a middle floor. The two followed Shawn up the emergency staircase.

Climbing from the first floor to the 17th floor in one go left the Dixon Brothers breathless.

The three discussed resting for a bit. Just as they were about to continue upstairs, a sudden siren from outside the building caught their attention.

Merle looked down from a glass window between the floors and saw a police car passing by on the road below the building.

The siren blared for a while and then stopped. A small group of Walkers followed behind the car, jogging along with the police car towards the outskirts.

Merle turned around: "The army is gone, and there are still police in Atlanta?

"Glenn and the others never mentioned it before."

Daryl carefully searched his memories of past events and shook his head.

But what they didn't know, Shawn did.

These police officers belonged to the Hospital in Atlanta.

That's right, another survivor Camp.

In the original plot, Beth died here, her death in the final resistance and struggle was seen as another great regret.

However, according to the current timeline, the Hospital should have only been established recently.

A survivor Camp needs to be composed of at least two aspects.

One is labor, and the other is armed force.

From the police car that just passed, it seemed the Hospital already possessed both.

The Hospital even had something many other survivor Camps lacked—professional doctors and professional equipment.

Atlanta's professional medical equipment was not comparable to that of a small town Hospital.

After watching for a while, until the police car completely disappeared from sight, Shawn finally spoke.

"Don't worry about them. Let's deal with what's in front of us first."

The three arrived on the 20th floor. Shawn looked through the double doors of the stairwell, and the exclamation mark representing the treasure floated leisurely.

Giving the two a look, Shawn pushed the door open directly.

Daryl and Merle pressed their backs against the sides of the door, quickly adjusting their positions and aiming their guns, displaying a certain tactical coordination.

"Hiss-ha----"

The Walkers dragged out their sounds, one by one rising from their seats.

Shawn stepped forward and delivered two consecutive slashes, beheading the Walkers that crawled up from the floor in front of him.

Without Shawn needing to remind him, Daryl continuously shot arrows, and with each arrow that flew, a Walker fell.

Merle held his rifle, firing in bursts, pressing forward step by step.

Working together, the three managed to eliminate all the remaining Walkers on an entire floor within 1 minute.

Shawn pushed open the door of an office cubicle and looked in the direction indicated by the treasure marker.

It was an oil painting, depicting a fishing boat and stormy waves. He wondered if it was a depiction of "The Old Man and the Sea."

Shawn stepped forward and pushed the painting aside, revealing a safe embedded in the wall behind it.

The treasure marker finally settled on the safe.

"No way..."

Shawn was a bit helpless.

When he first entered the building, he thought, this kind of building is not like the wilderness; there's no soil, so it can't be buried in concrete, right?

But now seeing the safe, Shawn understood what the system was planning.

Taking out a sledgehammer, Shawn came to the door, told Daryl and the other to wait for him outside, and then closed the door tightly.

Then, after only a dozen seconds, a loud clang of metal against metal came from inside the office.

Clang, clang, clang--

One might think Shawn was forging iron and swords inside.

Ding--!!

Shawn swung another hammer.

A line of numbers immediately appeared on the safe.

[2797 / 3000]

This was the safe's durability. The iron sledgehammer's block damage was 67.6, meaning it would take approximately over 40 swings to open.

Currently, the tools Shawn had might not be as effective as the iron hammer, and he had considered using 'Pipe Bombs' to blow it up directly.

However, given the characteristics and damage of 'Pipe Bombs', using them to blow up a safe would clearly be a bit wasteful, so Shawn simply used the hammer.

Next came the familiar process of swinging the sledgehammer. Every 6 or 7 swings, Shawn would stop to rest for a moment, waiting for his stamina to fully recover before continuing.

The noise generated by the hammering was not small, but it only spread between the upper and lower floors, so not many Walkers were attracted.

Before Merle could get impatient and push the door open, Shawn struck the safe in one go.

Ding--!

The iron sledgehammer made a final, crisp ringing sound as it collided with the safe.

The outer door of the safe suddenly disappeared, revealing a not-so-large treasure chest.

Opening the treasure chest, several light points immediately converged in front of Shawn, transforming into several messages.
