Chapter 162 - Chapter 162 Misunderstanding

Compared to viewers in another modern world, Naraku didn't have to wait a week to see only one or two episodes.

Every time he caught up, he could watch the entire event from beginning to end in one sitting, saving him a lot of agony.

— —

At the beginning of the next episode, the animator repeated the process of Fugaku activating Susanoo to stir up the audience's emotions.

The Uchiha Clan Member, with tears in their Three-Tomoe Sharingan, gazed at their Clan Head with fervent adoration.

The great power, deeply embedded in their bloodline and dormant for many years, now reappeared before the world, and their confidence and fighting spirit to oppose Konoha reached their peak.

The Third Power, Susanoo!

Most of the Ninja on Konoha's side were seeing Susanoo for the first time, and they couldn't help but lament that the Uchiha were truly the darlings of the Six Paths; such an overpowered ability could probably only be matched by a Tailed Beast.

[Seven centuries have finally passed! Hooray!]

[Finally, I can watch the Uchiha activate their Gundam again!]

[Tailed Beast? Brother, you're thinking too small; Madara caught the Nine-Tailed like a dog back then.]

[Nine-Tailed: Feed me peanuts!]

— — Where is that damned Danzo Shimura?!

The moment he voiced his question, Fugaku activated the pupil technique "Shinkō Kagami Gyō" in his left eye, and the scene in his eye transformed into an incredibly clear X-ray view, with only lines remaining.

In an instant, he saw through to his target's location, even with numerous Sealing Jutsu and genjutsu obstructing it.

This pupil technique appeared very similar to the Byakugan, but it could do more than just see through things; it could also see all "truths."

Fugaku would no longer be deceived by appearances or disturbed by mental interference; any fact he wished to know would be revealed before his eyes—as long as he could pay the price.

[Holy crap, mental immunity, all-seeing insight?!]

[That's too awesome; this ability is powerful beyond reason.]

[Actually, this is Fugaku's wish; he wants to know the truth of things, and he also desperately wants to be able to see through the fog and lead his Clan Member to live safely.]

[Mangekyo is also known as the Uchiha Wishing Machine.]

The moment Susanoo attacked the Hokage Building, the Uchiha Clan Member also followed suit, engaging in battle with the Konoha Ninja.

Danzo was no pushover; even when facing Susanoo, he still had means of self-preservation, and after a few moves, he was about to jump out of the building.

Fugaku's right eye widened, and the pupil technique "Kenrai Toshin" activated instantly.

The scene slowed down appropriately for the audience to see clearly: the air less than an arm's length in front of Danzo began to violently fluctuate and expand, the atmosphere twisting and rubbing against itself, so intensely that sparks of electricity even burst forth.

Everything was completed in an instant; the scene returned to normal speed, and by the time Danzo noticed the anomaly, it was too late.

White light covered his eyes, face, and body, followed by the entire screen turning dazzling white.

The camera shifted, a huge roar sounded, and countless tremors and shockwaves erupted from inside the Hokage Building, shattering the entire side of the building and causing the structure itself to shake.

[The old man can run pretty well, huh? Try running again, I dare you!]

[It's just missing a mushroom cloud to be a small fuel-air explosive.]

[It seems Fugaku has wanted to blow up Konoha for a while... Hahahahaha...]

[If this move were used to 'fish' on a frontal battlefield, I can't even imagine how awesome it would be.]

[Or next time there's a war, let Fugaku sneak into the enemy Village and unleash two even larger ones; then these Ninja Villages would all behave.]

[Sand/Cloud/Mist/Stone: Don't you dare!]

Fugaku withdrew from the building, intending to crush Danzo, but Tsunade's reminder made him remember that the children were still missing, so he had no choice but to retreat with his people.

The effect of "Shinkō Kagami Gyō" was still active, and an unintentional glance allowed him to see something hidden in Danzo's right eye socket.

"You deserve to die!!"

Rage nearly snapped the 'reason' string in his mind, but he still remembered the children and forcefully held back, telling Fūyō to step forward and dig out that eyeball.

Fūyō's expression changed instantly; as an Uchiha, how could he not realize what the Clan Head meant?

— The eye...?

When he dug out the object from Danzo's eye socket, a pang of pain immediately rose in his heart, and his eyes burned like fire.

The screen then switched to Fūyō's memory.

The first time they met, Naraku, with his clear and bright eyes, appeared in the doorway in his small body, cautiously and kindly showing him a faint smile;

On the way back to the Hospital from the clan grounds, Naraku curled up, stubbornly refusing to give up, his hair disheveled by the night wind, his expression sorrowful and bewildered;

Walking on a sunny path, Naraku tidied his hair, his expression filled with subtle resentment, seemingly accusing him of his "misdeeds"... The memory vanished, and the camera showed Fūyō's face, a mixture of crying and not crying, and his eyes, gradually splitting into three tomoe and shedding tears of blood.

The animator cut all sound, leaving only Fūyō's monologue slowly unfolding.

— What is this... What is Konoha doing...— Th-this... couldn't be...?

The camera silently and cruelly focused on Kakashi on the ground.

He was screaming something in despair, his right hand already on the hilt of his ninja sword, held down tightly by those around him, yet still struggling to get up.

Hatred and sorrow filled his eyes, like a young beast driven mad by the loss of everything.

Then, the camera once again focused on Fūyō's palm.

— Is that Naraku...?

As Fūyō's last words ended, Kakashi's voice finally appeared on screen.

"Let me go!... You, let me go!... Ahhh—!"

A close-up filled the entire screen, clearly showing the object in Fūyō's hand.

— It was a Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

All the viewers completely erupted.

[No way... it absolutely can't be what I'm thinking...!]

[Someone tell me this isn't true!]

[Holy crap! Holy crap Danzo Shimura!! Holy crap, you motherf*****!!!!]

[Naraku pushed for cardiac arrest.]

[Kakashi is going to go crazy, isn't he?!]

[Danzo Shimura, I want you dead!!! Ahhh—!!]

[Kakashi, Kana, Tsunade, Fugaku, Mikoto, Fūyō... Everyone will go crazy!]

[How lively Naraku was when he was alive... But now, only... an eye remains...?]

— —

Naraku:???... What a coincidence?

No wonder Kakashi was in such a bad state just now; he thought I not only died but even had an eye gouged out?

Well, that's indeed a bit too much.

Naraku grimaced, thinking that once he woke up, he'd have to comfort Kakashi properly again, so the kid wouldn't develop any issues from the shock.

That dog Danzo really has bad luck; no matter how many tomoe, he just had to put a Three Tomoe on himself. Now he can't wash himself clean even if he jumps into the Yellow River; he deserves it.

— —

The animation continued.

Almost everyone believed it was Naraku's eye, and the Uchiha Clan Member roared, telling their Clan Head to kill that despicable scoundrel, Danzo.

Amidst the chaos, Danzo finally spoke under Tsunade's death threat, denying that he had kidnapped any Uchiha children, and conveniently pushed all the blame onto Orochimaru.

Orochimaru, who had just arrived and was instantly burdened with an enormous accusation, remained very calm. Jiraiya ran over and put his arm around his good friend, not forgetting to egg Tsunade on.

But Kushina said they couldn't kill him, otherwise, the brain in the corpse would be destroyed by Sealing Jutsu, and the children would never be found.

Everyone was at their wits' end, and Fugaku was even considering whether or not to use "Shinkō Kagami Gyō" to obtain the "truth."

Just then, a huge explosion sounded from afar. Everyone instinctively looked in the direction of the explosion, but only Danzo, in the shadows, closed his eyes and revealed a strange smile.

This episode ended with suspense.

[What??? Orochimaru???]

[Orochimaru couldn't have really been involved, could he?!]

[Impossible! Our Orochimaru is a good person!]

[Speaking of which, Jiraiya's mind becomes exceptionally clear whenever it concerns Orochimaru...]

[Wow! Snakey is finally here! So handsome~!]

[Orochimaru: My first appearance is to take the blame?]

[Can Danzo really not die?? (Frustrated)]

[What's going on? Are other Villages attacking?]

[What did that old man Danzo do?]

[Holy crap! Could it be the place where the children are being held...?]

— —

Naraku excitedly rubbed his little hands: Here it comes, here it comes! It's finally my turn to appear!

Skipping directly to the next episode, the perspective indeed left the center of Konoha and arrived at a dark, unknown corner.

— —

The scene was probably late at night. A tree branch lay horizontally in the middle of the forest. After a few seconds, a strange figure hurried past, making the branch suddenly spring up.

The person left only a back view and ran further away. The camera followed him, filming his arm, back, and footsteps, but never showing his face.

This segment only had the sound of footsteps, and occasionally, his cloak could be heard flapping in the wind.

[Who is this? Did I miss an episode?]

[Why did it suddenly jump here? Wasn't I just watching the Konoha civil war?]

[Old Thief is teasing us again, so annoying.]

The scene continued from this person's perspective until it reached the entrance of an underground base.

The audience saw "themselves" draw a long ninja sword, stab sideways, then diagonally slash, cleanly dispatching two guards, and then quickly form hand signs, using a Lightning Release to blast open the gate.

Upon entering the base, the camera broke away from the first-person perspective and switched to a third-person view from mid-air, filming the intruder's exquisite killing techniques.

The ninja sword in his hand seemed to have a life of its own, elegantly and swiftly brandished. Enemies often lost their lives to the sharp blade upon first contact, paving a red carpet for him with their blood.

He continued to kill all the way to the lowest level, so much blood dripping from his ninja sword that it continuously streamed onto the ground.

However, from beginning to end, the camera's position was either too low, the angle was wrong, or something was obstructing it, so it never captured the intruder's face.

Only his precise and deadly movements could be seen, as well as his not-so-tall body beneath the cloak.

Apparently having found the place, he put away his ninja sword and began forming hand signs in front of a heavy iron door.

[What exactly is going on?]

[Such incredibly awesome swordsmanship... Why does it feel so familiar?]

[I remember! Sakumo killed his way into Root just like this back then!]

[Holy crap (‵o′)convex, you're right!]

— —

Naraku paused it. The figure on screen was indeed him, but the animator had made subtle adjustments to his appearance, concealing a few small details that animated audiences use to identify characters.

Coupled with the fact that his hair wasn't tied up, and his clothes and accessories weren't the styles he usually wore, this caused the audience to not recognize him immediately.

Perhaps with a closer look, a sharp-eyed 'Levin-Hooke' might have noticed a clue, but when Naraku clicked to continue playing, the scene switched to another location.
