This was really getting out of hand. I had just come down here to find Choso, and now things had gone really wrong. Mahito, that guy who looked like Gojo-Sensei, and that weird short girl who felt really cold. At least Todo was here and my weird brothers as well, so we had a fighting chance against these guys.
Nobody was moving, each side eying the other, waiting for whoever moved first. I knew who I had to fight, though my target was Mahito. The only other person that I knew could hurt the curse was Gojo-Sensei with his cursed tools. So it was up to me to defeat the curse before he killed anyone else.
Suddenly, Mahito stretched his arm towards Choso, and I made my move, raising my leg just in time. I knew Todo would swap Mahito with himself, so by the time my foot made contact, it was with the curse. I put my divergent strike into the kick, and as Mahito tried to recover, the cursed energy detonated, knocking him back even farther.
I chase after Mahito, with Todo on my left. We both reach him and begin our attacks. Our fists slammed into him, pummeling the curse with a nonstop barrage of punches packed with cursed energy. Whenever Mahito tried to hit me or land a touch on Todo, he would be swapped with each clap, disorienting him further.
Mahito had his own tricks, though, and those tricks involved more of his transfigured humans. During one of Todo's attacks, Mahito spat out a massive blob covered in arms and eyes, all around one large mouth. It began spinning like a top, its arms moving faster with every second.
I had to back away from the arms, but as I did, I stumbled over a pile of debris. I grabbed a piece and filled it with cursed energy before throwing it at Mahito. "Todo!" I shouted, and he noticed the rock.
"On it, brother!" He responded, then clapped his hands, swapping the transfigured human for the rock. The transformed human now hurtling at Mahito struck him with its spinning arms.
Our advance continued, taking advantage of the stunned Mahito to move in and strike. He recovered quickly, though, bringing out massive hammers from his palms and swinging them wildly around his body. I jumped back, dodging his first swing, and took an opening to land a punch to his side.
Our attacks once more struck Mahito, pushing him back and preventing him from even considering a move. I punched his face, knocking him to the side, and Todo followed up with a kick to the gut, pushing him back when his face moved back up, though his tongue was out and had grown hands forming into familiar signs.
"Domain Expansion: Self-Embodiment of-"
Before he could finish, though, Mahito was suddenly cut off, having been pierced through the back and head. Behind Mahito, I could see a glowing blue shape. It was a large jellyfish, and its pincers had stabbed through Mahito while he was distracted, and there was only one person I knew with that kind of ability.
"Junpei!" I called out, finally spotting him emerging from behind a pillar.
"Hey Yuji, sorry for the delay." He said in response as his shikigami, Moondregs, began wrapping its stingers around Mahito. The curse began to struggle with his body, growing in size as he fought to get free. I felt a sudden chill run down my spine and saw Mahito's head pop up from the grasp, his mouth and hands still in position.
"Perfection!"
Massive hands began to spread out from behind his form, creating a dome around all of us, but as soon as it formed, it collapsed, and where Moondregs had trapped Mahito, he was now free and very different. His body was covered in gray, fleshy armor, with long blades jutting from his elbows.
"Well, what do you think? I picked up that little trick from Gojo Satoru. Now you can't touch me." He said, arms wide like he was giving a presentation. He moved faster than before, charging straight at us, his bladed arm swinging down at Junpei.
I intercept him, grabbing his arm and twisting it out of the way. His other arm swings up, slicing me across the front, leaving a long, shallow wound. I heard a clap, and suddenly, Todo was in front of me instead of allowing the three of us to line up properly. After a glance, we began to move, all rushing forward, as Mahito began his rush as well.
As our attack began, I quickly noticed the problem: this armor wasn't just for show; it was incredibly tough, and none of my punches seemed even to phase him. Even with my ability to target his soul, I couldn't do anything without being able actually to hit him.
There was only one option to get through: I had to hit him with a black flash. The only issue was that I couldn't control it. Nanami and Gojo-Sensei had explained to me that the black flash is random; no sorcerer can make it happen, but I had to find a way, or else it would be for nothing.
The attacks continued, each of us giving it our all, with Todo repeatedly forcing Mahito into a confused spin, but that didn't matter with his armor. Junpei was unable to use Moondregs as the shikigami had been injured when Mahito broke free using his domain, so he was reduced to simple attacks.
I had an idea, though a desperate one, but it was our best hope. Once, when I was training, Gojo-Sensei told me his own theory on black flash: that it happens when a sorcerer is entirely focused on a single goal, more so than ever before, with no regard for anything else. It was only a theory, and he had admitted he didn't have proof, but I had to try; we all did.
"Everyone, focus your next attack. Don't think, just do." I called out to them, and they both nodded. We each split apart. I ran at Mahito straight on while Todo and Junpei took his sides. We all reached him at the same time, our fists flying forward, cursed energy flaring all around, overwhelming Mahito's.
As our attacks made contact, the change happened: the cursed energy shifted to black-and-red lightning, and I could feel the power behind the attack grow rapidly. As one of the punches landed, it crashed into Mahito with a sound like thunder in a storm's center. We each yelled out as the attacks landed.
"BLACK FLASH!"
Mahito's armor couldn't handle the force, crumbling as his body was smashed to pieces from the attacks before being launched away, rolling across the ground before stopping at the feet of a figure I hadn't noticed.
"Oh my, how troubling should I save you, Mahito?"

Ok the mini arc is done now I now realize that I don't like writing big fights like this because this little thing sucked so hard to write I had the worst writers block so sorry for the short chapter. Next time Shibuya ends finally and I'm also done with college so I should be able to write more though I wouldn't say for certain I could get out more a week just hopefully longer chapters.
