"Alex, even though it's too late, I want to fix a few things that are still in my hand," Stefan started as his tone was quite serious. Alexis herself knew he was serious about making amends from the past.
"I want to clear some misunderstanding out with everything that has happened and remained unexplained. I want you to help me a little with this," he added when Alexis didn't reply.
"What help?" She lifted her one eyebrow in curiosity.
"Can you accompany me to this party? You can decline if you don't want to," he seemed a bit nervous while asking. That was a new thing for Alexis as she has seen him beaming with confidence most of the time ever since she met him.
Alexis took another sip of her coffee.
"You said I can decline. So I am declining. I have no wish to open the book I already finished."
The reply was clear and simple but the will behind it wasn't gained that simply. Thankfully, Stefan didn't push into it too much and agreed to whatever she was comfortable with.
