Chapter 314 - TSWH: Chapter 314

Game Vault of the Infinite Dreamer had fully merged with the system.

The types of resources he could convert into cards were categorized: Item Cards, Skill Cards, Weapon Cards, and so on.

Currently, the conversion was limited by reality. Because his soul strength was still relatively low, the system's functions were restricted.

Once his soul grew stronger in the future, he might be able to create even higher-level cards, such as Character Cards or Treasure Cards.

"Supreme Will..."

As he walked back toward the village, Oboro's eyes gleamed with determination.

The evolution of one's own will was the purest form of growth. Unlike in his previous world, where he used abilities and external items to strengthen his soul, here he sought a true transformation.

In other words, he no longer needed to 'cut down' his soul to travel between worlds... this was an original, fundamental evolution of the spirit.

It required experience, insight, and growth.

In the world of Hunter x Hunter, he had learned much through the manifestation of his will.

But in this world, the will he intended to pass on was Legacy.

Personal Will focused solely on oneself—getting stronger and believing in one's own path.

Legacy, however, depended entirely on the recipient. It was uncertain whether it would take root or flourish. It relied on others.

Therefore, Oboro needed to confirm if anyone in this world was worthy of carrying his will.

Most importantly, by witnessing this legacy being passed on and perfected, he hoped to gain a deeper understanding of his own path... to truly grasp the meaning of 'Supreme Will'. Only then would his goal be achieved.

Otherwise, this journey would end in failure.

But regardless of the outcome... using the system, he could plunder resources here to prepare for his next destination.

Furthermore... by helping this world's power system evolve to a new level, he expected to receive benefits from the World's Will itself—the 'Little Tree' that governed reality.

Oboro could see his path clearly now.

Before returning to his original world, he would use the Supreme Will to strengthen his system, allowing him to break through dimensional barriers and survive anywhere.

From now on, the worlds he visited would not be as simple as this one... they would be filled with unknown dangers. He needed absolute power to protect himself.

The relaxed, carefree feeling he enjoyed here due to the 'power level suppression'... would not last forever.

"Whether the legacy succeeds or fails, this trip was worth it."

...

A while later, Oboro returned to the shrine in Seirin-machi.

All the unconscious villagers had woken up. Seeing the signs of battle, the pools of blood, and the destroyed shrine, they fell into a panic, screaming and shouting in confusion.

And there, tied up with ropes, were Oboro's two maidens.

They were considered sacrifices and could not be allowed to leave. The villagers were waiting for the 'God' to return and continue their 'transaction'.

"IT'S HIM!"

Someone spotted Oboro approaching and yelled out.

A mob surged toward him.

"Where is the God...?"

"Tie him up first!"

"Why aren't you dead?!"

Twisted faces filled Oboro's view.

Through this 'trade', they received money and protection from Michimaru. The selfish nature of humanity was laid bare here, magnified to its extreme.

As long as they survived, morality and good and evil meant nothing. This world was unequal, a world where the strong devoured the weak.

The same old man who had escorted him here pointed a knife at him again, his face full of ferocity.

"Those two samurai... the one with red hair and the grey-haired one—they burst in here! What did they do?! You must know something?!"

The old man pressed the dagger right against Oboro's face, demanding answers.

In his eyes, this nobleman was a coward. That was why he had come here quietly without resisting.

A few threats and he would spill everything.

"You aren't wrong... you were just trying to survive. Selfishness is a natural part of human nature. But the way you choose to express it determines your fate... So, having chosen this path, you must accept the consequences."

Oboro looked at the angry mob.

Even the children looked at him with hatred and killing intent. He spoke softly.

"Huh?"

The villagers froze, not understanding his meaning.

But the next moment... they understood.

His black haori flared out like a dark cloud.

From a distance, the two maidens watched as the wooden staff in his hand transformed into something sharp and deadly. It swept through the crowd like a scythe.

The figures standing before him were torn apart like ragdolls. Blood and organs sprayed everywhere as bodies collapsed instantly.

Oboro's shadow moved barely a few times within the crowd.

Then, he appeared back in front of his servants.

Behind him lay a carpet of corpses.

Not a single person remained alive.

Chiyoko and Rina turned deathly pale.

They had served Oboro since they were children. They remembered him as a frail, sickly young master from a noble family.

He was gentle, even timid. His samurai status was merely for show; he had never truly held a weapon.

He would only appear at official ceremonies, living a quiet life indoors.

But everything changed after his severe illness several months ago.

They had noticed the difference.

He changed his name. He killed a demon in the night. He lived at the foot of Mount Kumatori...

And now, here.

Until now, he had remained gentle, smiling politely, making them feel warm despite the strangeness.

But this scene... it was like ice water poured down their spines.

They barely recognized him.

Especially his eyes. Cold. Empty.

Most horrifying of all... he had killed them all.

In the blink of an eye.

And they were humans, not demons.

This act... completely shattered everything they thought they knew about him.

Their minds went blank. What just happened?

...

The fluttering haori settled back down around his waist.

The blood-stained staff touched the ground. Oboro walked past the two stunned girls, continuing forward without pause.

He didn't stop to comfort them.

No explanations. No words.

"Follow me... or leave. Choose for yourselves."

Only that sentence remained, hanging in the cold night air.
